My other half amazed me the other day by offering to buy me a modular... I nearly choked on my cocoa!
    One Palace Cinema, please!

I never ask for Lego, as I always know where or how to get it cheaper than my friends and family can. I therefore tend to buy all my Lego myself, and ask for other stuff for Christmas instead :)

I normally keep a set for building on Christmas day though. In previous years that's been the Winter Village set, but this year it'll be the Temple of Airjitzu :D

@Paperballpark that's a great idea! I should save a big set to open and build for the first time on Christmas day. Or maybe build one or two of my old sets.

I wish they had Bricklink gift cards.....

Similar boat as @Paperballpark. I always feel a little guilty when family buys me LEGO, since I know they probably paid RRP for it. I'm still really happy to receive it, but I don't usually seek it out on gift lists. When I do put items on, it's usually IDEAS or exclusive sets that never see discounts.

Still, I would not complain if any of the following appeared under the tree:
    -UCS Slave I
    -Ferris Wheel
    -Tumbler
    -Doctor Who
    -Wall-E

I never ask for it either. I actually did once, but didn't get it. So I stopped. I'm fine with that. I like the hunt on my own anyway. My son did get me a police helicopter polybag for Father's Day, though he was 2 at the time and as soon as I built it he asked if he could play with it. It's been in his LEGO bin ever since.

I actually wanted the 2 new frozen sets, but they are not out in the UK until the 26th dec. How crazy is that!

Yeah, I buy more Lego for other people than the other way around. I always ask for Legos, but never expected and still don't expect much, as I have 7 siblings and a dad in the military.

    Doesn't hurt to try, though!

I will only be receiving Lego from my Brickset Secret Santa but that's OK because I have a very long build queue already. (I built 3 Scooby Doo sets yesterday and still haven't really made a dent in it!)

Plus I had my Christmas "present"  of a few new sets to review so I'm not exactly Lego-deprived :-)

Because my gf is so prone to saying "No", I'm definitely & defiantly asking for multiple Lego sets from her for Christmas. Nothing else will be on the list but Lego. I can buy my own darn ugly sweaters. Check mate luv!

UCS Slave-1 & TIE Fighter to complete my UCS theme again.

An electric griddle would be nice.

I shall use that fact to point out that I have therefore officially reached adulthood.

Lego wise, I would love to get the UCS TIE Fighter.

All I want for Christmas is set  #70738  Final Flight of Destiny's Bounty to go with my  #70751 Temple of Airjitzu and my #70728 Battle for Ninjago City.

It is literally the only thing I want for Christmas. If I don't get it I'm buying it.

I would never ask for Lego as a gift (They'd pay too much-the box will have a crease),so instead I'll be driving 150 miles round-trip on Jan 1st to the Lego Store to pick up my 10251 Brick Bank. I will also be dashing thru the snow & laughing all the way...home

If I ask for Lego, it is usually something specific I know there won't be any deals on anyway. This year, I've asked for the Doctor Who IDEAS set. I know it's been back ordered, so hopefully it will arrive in time for Christmas!

I've been mostly  buying  my own this year because I know where & when to get things. One of the side-effects of having specialised hobbies.

The older police station (not the swamp one), Antman set.  That's about it as far as LEGO.

Our little mister six was so cute when he went to see Santa, he asked him for the set dad put on Ideas Lego, guessing it's the result of explaining to him it's not looking likely just before he went to see the big guy.

As for me, unless I'm asking my wife for it, I don't tend to ask for Lego, as no-one else will willingly get me it. Unfortunately, I've got all the currently released MARVEL sets a part from the Hulk poly & we don't get the MARVEL polybags here...

If it was a true 'wish' list it'd be a mile long, with things like the Green Grocer and the Taj Mahal on it. But to stay practical, I have asked my boyfriend to simply give me some money to go towards my next purchase; the Ghostbusters Headquarters. Works for him, because we'd build it together anyway (and I'll be paying 90% of the price!) :-P

Same as @Paperballpark , I don't really ask for LEGO for Christmas as I know I can get it cheaper elsewhere. However, I do appreciate the small 100 piece sets that relatives give me... while the building experience isn't very exiting, I absolutely cherish the sentimental value of them.

Every Christmas I do treat myself with a very large MOC build... this year I'll be working on a 10,000 piece Helm's Deep MOC (2/3rds of it) and a 5,000 piece Neushwasntein Castle, Germany. Typically, I only do one project, but I could not resist double dipping this year.

My wife will get me a larger more expensive set and relatives will get me a few Lego gift cards so I can buy what I like. Then I'll go to the Lego store on the 1st and get GBHQ for a bit less.  A very predictable scenario but nice none the less.

Is it normal for a store to actually open on the first of january where you are at?

Else making a trip to the store on the 2nd or 4th might be a wiser decision.

@tecjam ;It takes a lot to close a store in the USA & unfortunately quite normal for stores to be open on Holidays.NY eve they will close a bit early but in general the next day it's business as usual. "store Hours Friday, January 1st
11:00am-5:00pm" so it's open about 1/2 the day.

Yes, our overly christian countries are far away from working on sundays or holidays.
I do wish supermarkets would open sundays, though.

Lego Ewok Village.  Definitely felt guilty asking for it, but since my son would love it I told my mom it would make a perfect present for both of us.  I also have never seen any kind of deal on this set, so I don't think I can get my hands on it any cheaper than she could.

As someone just coming out of my Dark Age I have asked for Lego off most of my family. In most cases I have made the purchase on their behalf (so I can get VIP points, EBay purchases etc) and given them to wrap for me (without me looking at them at all). So here's what I have coming my way:

    Sets
    UCS Tumbler
    Ghostbusters ECTO-1
    Dr Who
    EXO Suite
    Gingerbread House (freebie)

    Books
    Lego Collectors Guide Vol 2
    Mining Customisation 2

    Mags
Lots of back Issues of Blocks

Should keep me busy for a little while :)

I will just enjoy my kids enjoying their new Lego. And I hear rumors of a local shop doing 30% off everything in late January so I might get myself something then from the 2016 sets.

if i could choose 2 sets for me as a christmas present i would take:
    #4182 cannibal escape
    and
    #79117 turtle lair invasion

those 2 sets are just too damn cool!
i ll bricklink them if i have money left after buying my TRX THUD RUMBLE.

    DUB is my friend!

I usually ask for "any Creator, Marvel or Star Wars set under £20" (even if I already own it they would be great for parts or figs), but the fam thinks the whole Lego thing is a bit strange and I actually never get any sets (my boyfriend does get me the odd minifig for my stocking).

I generally don't ask for anything else, I don't need anything and would rather buy for others, especially the wee children.  It's definitely the most Christmasy bit!  My 18 month old niece in particular is racking up quite a pile this year, I might have gotten a little carried away...

I will probably put a Pirate set or two under the tree, yes, after I take down from the shelf and wrap and put a nice tag on it that says "from Santa".  At least I can act surprised and then open. build and display, right? RIGHT??

I pretty much bought everything I wanted. I do put Creator animal sets on there. I've been buying three of each so I don't have to take anything apart. Still need a few of those so through them on my Amazon wishlist.

The only thing I have on my wish list is a box of scotchmallows but I found my gift two days ago. I went into the attic looking for some extra Christmas lights and saw a Lego bag in a clear crate off to the side. Technic Mercedes-Benz Arocs 3245. I spend time admiring that set every time I'm at the Lego store.

I'm just waiting for the bank, but the interest is kinda waning as I'm the only one showing interest.

I got my fiance the Pegasus Sleigh from Elves and will most likely also be getting her the Bakery from that theme and Elsa's Ice Palace.

Last year she got me the Palace Cinema. I don't generally ask for any sets though, as my tastes for sets have grown well past what I want anyone spending on me.

well I can cross off the tumbler off my list for xmas, getting it for the birthday a week earlier. Hmm the palace would be a good sub
