First day of my advent calendar. Winter Village Post office.
Still excited by the prospect of todays build.
The Changing Seasons Creator house, in winter mode. :)

Today's build is the Gingerbread house.
I think this will stand by the Bakery in my village.

Picked up slave 1 a silly way to have the back slope section explode on me. Got everything back together to find a 6x1 and 4x1 brick on the duvet. I think I know where they are from but it seems sturdy enough and don't want to take it all apart again :)

Good effort.  Did a lovely young lady have a hand in it?

    Sorry @Salamalex!
    I've reviewed #41066 too, so I'm doubly lucky :-)
I don't do that many reviews for Bricks but very glad I got these ones. Hopefully I will be receiving some sets to review for Brickset soon too.

Winter Village Market was built yesterday and today I do the Toy Shops, old version and new, to see the differences in the 2 builds.
Which seem very small from the descriptions of other builders.
My WV is looking quite good now, even though I have not worked out the final layout yet. :)
    Much landscaping will be required.

While taking pictures of old comics for ebay, I happened across this ad on the back of an old Marvel Star Wars comic book.

Just ordered a sealed #10937 from bricklink, only to have my order cancelled. =(
Oh, sorry. It is out of stock now

The remaining day shall be spent on washing a used #10193 and building #10198.

I wish I had more of the WV sets, as I've already built all I had.

Have spent the weekend (not all of it, obviously!) putting up the Christmas tree and decorations and building our WV with my daughters... Well, I say WV, but it only consists of #10245 Santa's Workshop, #40106 Toy Workshop and #40138 Christmas Train at the moment... Will add the #10249 Toy Shop nearer to Christmas.
Now... I wonder what the chances are the TLG reissue another, older WV set for next year... I'll get my coat. ;-)

The WV market is the one older one that I really want for some reason... Okay, I want the cottage as well... I'll definitely pick them up one day.

Today I added these to my village

    40106: Toy Workshop

    40107: Winter Skating Scene

Some more ideas are coming together and my Carol singers are looking good.

I still need to add the Christmas train to my village.

While sorting some pieces, I watched my 7 year old put this together. Park animals is a nice little set.

Just had #31025 Mountain Hut turn up, which will be a Christmas present for one of my twin daughters... Just waiting for #31038 Changing Seasons to arrive, for the other.
The question now is which one to give to which daughter... It's bound to cause arguments! ;-)

One step closer to minifig organization!

Finished all the Star Wars battle packs last night. Which may have been the biggest undertaking of them all.

This is extremely important in that I've self-imposed a goal of getting them organized before building any more sets. At this point, the sets backlog is:

    Parisian Restaurant
    Destiny's Bounty
    Stiix
    Morro Dragon
    Titan Mech Battle
    Mystery Machine
Star Wars Advent Calendar (Yes, I know I'm already a week behind!)
    3 of the Airjitzu Flyers
    Various Dimensions Packs
    Toys R Us Bakery
    The New Garbage Truck
    Speed Champions McLaren
    Poe's X-Wing
    High-Speed Passenger Train
    Hogwarts
    Hogwarts Express
    Diagon Alley
Also have the old and new Hulk polybags still bagged. This is where the OCD sets in. Must finish current minifig organization before getting to those!

Let's hope my wife doesn't read the Brickset forums!

  • nexandernexander Member Posts: 908
^you expect that to be answered on a public forum? I never hide any Lego from my wife ;)

^ None of my LEGO is hidden per se, but the boxes are all in the loft, protected by plastic bags and spiders and the LEGO itself is all neatly organised in storage containers, so she doesn't know exactly what I have. She knows that it's a lot (all things being relative), given the size and number of containers.
I tend to build a few models at a time from a particular theme and then disassemble them before building different ones, so there's never much on display all the time.
My modulars (only 3 of them at the moment) are a different matter, as they are on a shelf in my study permanently, however, they are covered by a cloth, to prevent dust, most of the time.
Having said all that, now that I am only missing #924 from my Classic Space (pre-1981 change to white, trans-blue and trans-green, so including #6801 and #6822) collection, I have a hankering to get them all out and built, which might raise a couple of eyebrows... ;-)

Like @JudgeChuck, mine aren't necessarily hidden, but I don't review every purchase with her. She's very aware that I have a very large collection that keeps growing. She's not thrilled with it, but she's okay with it. It's the only thing I collect and she knows I enjoy it.

But if I were to conceal the new purchases, maybe (and I'm not saying this has ever happened...EVER!) I would take the sets out of the boxes and store only the bags to save room. Just saying that's maybe what I would do if I ever felt the need.

Also, like @JudgeChuck, very little of mine is out at any given time. Until my boys are older and want to play with it consistently, only a few sets are built.

Got back to work today to find 2 brick owl orders, 1 from brick link and 1 from PAB waiting for me so I can have a go at extending my winter toy shop scene as although I like the set, I feel it doesn't look right standing on a wooden table so am planning to add a base plate with a bit of a snow scape on it to (try and) make it look slightly better.

I hide them from the sun: the most destructive element to Lego bricks in the universe. That and my granddad's Lego-eating cat.

@chuxtoybox I forget which cartoon series it was in, it's either Avengers Assemble or Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, the team gets special space suits from Stark when they have to take on the Kree, I think it's meant to be like that space suit.

Like a SPACE SUIT! If Stark can make Cap a space suit that fits just like tights, why can't he design a sleeker suit of armor for himself?

That picture is in space, right? How is Cap throwing his shield? Even with super strength I don't think he can throw it in zero gravity with such velocity that the guy shooting the laser beams out of his eyes has to worry.

    Silly LEGO box designers.

I haven't followed comics in a while but isn't Captain Marvel able to fly in space?

Captain Marvel should be on the outside of the ship and Captain America should be on the inside of the ship.

I hope this set isn't a spoiler for the new movie and Captain America is actually going to fight in space with nothing but a respirator and a jet pack.
