^ I have no idea how many 2x4s will go for a swim in the drink but that's the funniest typo I've seen since Bilbo ;o)

@goldjono Can you advise @Nexander how many 2x4 bricks will fit in the larger PAB cup?
Well it is Glasgow! My professional opinion is that pab cup would be terrible for lager :) And I'm guessing @GoldJono is who I have seen a few times cramming cups, often several at once!

Anyway, on topic, I'm halfway through building the Death Star my wonderful wife bought for me with her first wage as a newly qualified nurse!

    Bob
That's awesome (the Death Star as well as the new qualification, haha)!  Pass along my congratulations!

^I love building the tumbler (built twice).  But the looking at black bricks does get a bit tiring on the eyes.  I split it over three nights the second time, although I was less desperate to finish like I was the first time through (all done on a sunday afternoon/evening)!

Happy Thanksgiving to our American friends.
I have bought way too much lego today, in advance of the Black Friday deals.  :)

Not really a 'Lego' status but I've reviewed Rey's Speeder for Bricks and have now gone Into excitement hyperdrive for The Force Awakens now.  Been watching all the trailers,  booked my cinema ticket (not til the 18th,  couldn't get a decent ticket for the 17th) and am working my way thru rewatching the other films.  I am staying pretty spoiler free in general though, I want to be surprised by the plot when I finally get to the cinema in three weeks and one day!

Brick Friday shopping in London tomorrow!

Let's see, Thanksgiving Day went like this... get up early and sort bricks, sort more bricks, cook, eat and wash up from breakfast, sort more bricks, then sort more bricks, then sort more bricks, then dash to the grocery store to buy cooked food for a late lunch/early dinner, rush to lake to eat with hubby who is fishing and kayaking in our gorgeous weather for a change. Watch the sunset over the lake, rush home, and sort. Then sort some more until my eyes begin crossing and my hand is paralyzed from all the sorting and lifting and building stacks of sorted brick.

While it could sound repetitive, it was a great day, and I didn't spend the entire day cooking, eating, and cleaning up from cooking and eating. I think I prefer sorting to inviting the masses for a huge Thanksgiving dinner!

And tomorrow will be more of the same. No shopping for me as the house is already too cluttered, and I think that more stores should follow REI's policy of closing on Thursday AND Friday to give the employees time off to play outside with their families ....while paying their wages. It seems that many of us have shopped ourselves almost to death; many of us could benefit from a long period of stores being closed and being forced to sort our bricks! Just saying' ...in case the shoe fits. Otherwise hold yer fire!

Finally (after some printer troubles) managed to get some custom LEGO themed christmas cards printed and sent out to some recipients (friends of mine) today. It's become a sort of yearly thing for me to do with my LEGO-obsessed friends, because sending normal Christmas cards to them just doesn't cut it for me!

I'd post the design but, hey, I don't want to spoil it for the recipients, so not gonna do it just yet ;oD

Oh! I've just exceeded 50k pieces! *party* Now I really need to buy drawers to organize all of those pieces...

    It is lucky that I was requested to work overtime this weekend, Black Friday is killing my bank account... ^^;

It's not even minifig scale, like the train. I guess it's free so whatever haha. The best holiday promo yet was that Christmas tree pick up truck, imho.
  • nexandernexander Member Posts: 908

That's the first part of the winter village done, including my 5 year olds tree he built to add to the scene and using only current pab bricks.  just need to wait till the others are fished. Definitely going to need another tub of bricks and plates!

Typical the one day I don't go upstairs, I even had time to kill. Suprised the staff didn't mention it. Ah well, got a employee minifig already so will go another day. Pity I will b nowhere near it at 530 any day.

^^I can see a lot of non weegies on here thinking 'wtf?' Clearly bright bricks have done their homework. I'm curious what else they will do, a Glasgow bar would be great but I doubt it.

The wife and I have decided to do the star wars advent calendars instead of giving them to the boys. They didn't know anything about them and have their own chocolate calendars. Does this make us bad parents? :)

No, it would make you bad parents if you weren't to show an interest.  :)
