    Anyone hear of any good deals for Cyber Monday?  I was planning on getting 75055 then and some others, but it's just jumped in price and I don't know if it's a good idea to wait on the few sets I wanna pick up in case they all go up.  :(

    @dougout...What was the #75055 at before, and what did it jump up to?  Where are you shopping the sets you want?

    It was $115 @ amazon and target for the past week.  It's jumped to $126 which is just $4 from retail.  TRU has it for $115 still, but they won't let me buy it cuz none of the stores around me have it in stock and they don't offer shipping to me otherwise.

    I also want to grab an extra #42009.  I built one when it came out and I really like it.  And Mos Eisley is on my list too.  Both those are 20% off @ amazon and target right now, so I think waiting for a bigger discount could be a bad choice.  Although both have been discounted 20% for quite some time.  Target would be my first pick because of free shipping and 5% off using Redcard, but anywhere that offer a discount would be fine.

    Seems discounts have been getting worse every year though.  I don't know if waiting is a good idea.

    It is still $114.99 at target.com + 5% redcard discount, but you're right, you would have to be able to will call it at a store, no shipping available.

    I wondered about that ^ too. I also enjoy the friends line, but am not crazy about the pop star line.

    #75046 on sale for $35 at TRU. Still $50 at [email protected] Not sold elsewhere.

    Why are there so many good deals on the US Lego [email protected] site and basically none in Europe? In Germany at least the "deals" are pitiful: I mean, 41058 Heartlake Shopping Mall 94.99 Euro instead of 99.99 Euro? 5% discount? Honestly? Or 41063 Arielle's underwater castle: 56.99 instead of 59.99 Euro. That is really something... Plus, there are only 9 (!) so called "deals" in total anyway, all at 5% discount (10234, 10242, 31313, 60098, 10508, 41058, 70413, 41063, 60044). What a waste. And 60044 has been on sale all year, at the beginning even for a better price than now. Any other normal online retailer has better offers, even without something like Black Friday/Cyber Monday. Really annoyed over here.

    As for a better deal this friday for example, Kaufhof had 10188 for 335.99 Euro instead of 419.99 RRP. 20% off. Far better than anything on Lego [email protected]

    Isn't Black Friday/Cyber Monday mostly a U.S. event anyway? I mean, its timing is based on the U.S. Thanksgiving Day, which other countries don't celebrate. I know it exists in other countries on some levels, but I imagine a lot more U.S. stores have Black Friday sales than German stores, so LEGO has to offer lower prices to get U.S. buyers' attention — otherwise those buyers would just buy their LEGO from other stores and websites that offer much deeper discounts, or even buy other, more heavily discounted toys altogether.

    I think "good deals" is relative.  I don't see a single discounted set at [email protected] that I would be interested in.

    BF sales looked pretty darn dismal this year in the US. I bought one LEGO book but no LEGO. I sold about 450 pounds weight of excess bulk bricks. Now I can walk in my LEGO room without tripping over LEGO containers on the floor and killing myself.

    Basically, yes. But in recent years, Black Friday has become an event over here as well. So the situation is similar. It's like with other unnecessary US "traditions" that have spread over the pond in recent years, like Valentine's Day or Halloween. Both werde completely unheard of over here when I was a kid. Even as recently as just a few years ago, kids over here didn't know about Halloween. Nowadays it's a big thing just like in the US.
    But in contrast to Valentine's day and Halloween, which only make you spend more money than necessary, at least Black Friday gives you the chance to get some of it back if you wait with your large Lego purchases for a certain year until that day. I for example know when I will buy the coming 2016 modular Brick Bank: Black Friday 2016, not one day earlier ;-)

    Did you get any discounts on modulars on BF? If yes, what country are you from? Here, I only saw discounts on small-medium sets only.

    I am from Germany, and yes, the modulars were discounted as well. But it is important to know that the modulars afaik are only available from Galeria Kaufhof and Lego Stores themselves. Kaufhof had the modulars discounted at around 20%:

    Palace Cinema for 111.99 Euro instead of 139.99 RRP
    Parisian Restaurant for 114.99 Euro instead of 149.99 RRP
    Detective's Office for 114.99 Euro instead of 149.99 RRP

    They already had very similar deals a couple of months ago, when PC was even a little cheaper (110.99).

    There were also quite a few large SW sets at 20% to 25% discount at Kaufhof:
    10188 Death Star (335.99 instead of 419.99 Euro)
    10236 Ewok Village (199.99 instead of 249.99 Euro)
    10240 Red Five X-Wing (149.99 instead of 199.99 Euro)

    Lots of great bargains too at Mueller and TRU, a few at Amazon also.
    No real discounts to speak of, as mentioned, at Lego shops or Lego [email protected] though.

    What do you mean by that? Is that not allowed in the US? Can't imagine that would be legally possible.

    Not sure if you are being sarcastic, but LEGO has not allowed retailers (or itself) to discount 'exclusives' (such as the Mods, as well as other creator sets, like VW van, Ferris wheel, Winter village sets, etc) for some time now in the US. There have been rare instances (like if a retailer screws up and puts a coupon out there for any toys set, or if LEGO is the only one with stock left and they must discount it, like the Joust set, or I think Winter Village Market as well) where it occurs, but very limited.

    ^ True.  Usually it's a X-Mas miracle to find a substantial discount on Friends sets.  Gordmans had the Friends 41106 Pop Star Tour Bus for $29.99 as their door buster sale.  My receipt and tag says it's normally $39.99....which is still $20 under RRP and $10 under what Target/Walmart is selling it for.

    No, I was not being sarcastic. And thank you for the insight, as I am from Germany I didn't know about that. Over here, there is no such policy. If a retailer sells these "exclusives" (which many sets really aren't over here), then he can give discounts on them as much as he likes. And believe me they do, as shown by the examples I gave above. The modulars are only sold by one major retailer other than Lego themselves, but the WV sets, the VW Van, Mini, etc. are sold almost at every major retailer. The only real exclusives (that at least I haven't seen anywhere else yet) that come to mind are (currently):

    Sidney Opera House
    Temple of Airjitzu
    Ferris Wheel
    Fairground Mixer
    Ferrari F40
    Helicarrier

    And @scotty12: Friends sets get huge discounts over here quite frequently. I bought the whole Popstar range for my daughter for example for about half price this year.
