Just saw 75110 (Luke) clearanced at $10; other constraction sets still regular price. They must have read the reviews!

Smaller JW sets were restocked, but nothing $50+.

-$14 on First Order TIE Fighter today on Walmart.com

Amazon is matching this for Prime members. Seems to be the new tactic they are employing this year.

I gotta say I like this tactic.  More benefits for being Prime

I'm a Prime member, so it doesn't bother me but it does seem to be a half-assed implementation. At first I thought it was the lower price that is exclusive to Prime members, but it's actually the item itself that is exclusive.  When I logged out of Amazon I was no longer able to add the Tie Fighter to my cart unless I went through a third party.  They don't seem to be able to sell something at a lower price to Prime members while still offering it at a regular price for non-members.  That seems like an odd strategy to me.

There may be some legal reasons in the US why they cannot do sell at a lower price for members, so they instead just remove it for non-prime members carts and do not allow those to add at a regular price.

^ Yeah could be... Although that type of system is already in place with other US retailers.  Kroger Plus comes to mind.

What's going on at Target these days?
  • BumblepantsBumblepants Member Posts: 7,629
Welp, Walmart is blocking me from ordering the creative bucket. I guess my IP is getting screened even though I was going to ship it to my US address. Sigh. Maybe I can talk my brother into going out to get one for me
  • BumblepantsBumblepants Member Posts: 7,629
Well I was able to hide my IP and then place an order for one after all. Excited. Great deal on parts.

The #10697 box is now available as is #10622 online, and it appears that Walmart finally fixed their site issues for now anyway. Limit 1 each

    #10697 is OOS already

Bah. I snagged two last year to use for our elementary school.  Limit one seems to indicate less stock this year, or maybe they recognized demand. Missed out also, so I am also hoping they restock.

I'm going to try to go to a store today.  I snagged 1 at 2:05 AM CST.  Tried for another hour to get another.  No luck.
  • madforLEGOmadforLEGO Member Posts: 10,788
The Walmart site was a mess until about 3:30am (CDT US) then it seems an order could finally easily get through, until then you could not get into the cart or checkout without a crash.

I'm also guessing they will be available online again today during the day, tomorrow, or Cyber Monday (as I think they were at least briefly available on cyber Monday during the day as well).
So as we are all used to just put the site up and keep hitting refresh until it shows the ability to add into the cart.

All of our walmarts had pallets with 64 of the large sets and large duplo boxes mixed.  There were about 8 people waiting.   We all got what we wanted and there was lots left.  They didn't last much longer though

Ya a few fine but 30 seems excessive.   Prob all end up on eBay

I got 3 (one for each kid, including myself). They seemed to have enough for at least everyone that was there at least 30 minutes before the sale began. I find Black Thursday fun as a break after a turkey dinner and before dessert.

Do they usually restock them online?
  • pharmjodpharmjod Member Posts: 2,916
Last year they did a few times. There were supply issues though as a whole boatload of them (literally) were held up in port for a while.

Went to four Walmarts but found nothing on the shelves. Then went to customer service to ask them to check stock in area stores, waited ten minutes for them to tell me that their password didn't work so they couldn't look. As I was about to thank them for nothing I saw part of a yellow box covered by clothes in a returns cart. I pulled the box out and it was 10697. Score!

    See my post above ;-)
Last year I am fairly certain they showed up random times on BF and on Cyber Monday. Not sure if that will occur again, but I can see Walmart holding some for Cyber Monday, but that is just a guess. Considering most are likely popping up on eBay for 60 I would say waiting a couple of days to see if they appear during Cyber Monday online would be an option. Though you will likely need to be quick. I think when they appeared online you had about 15-30 minutes tops to buy one before they were gone again.

They DID restock last year.  I picked up 2 or 3 on cyber monday.

I was able to place orders online for 10697 @4:55pm Eastern time for local pickup in Connecticut. Could only enter qty of one per order, but placed two orders back to back so grandson and I each get one

I went to our Mountain View, Calif. Walmart at 7:00 pm Friday after Thanksgiving. I managed to find 1 stray box which must have been left somewhere else put up on the LEGO shelf. If you really want the set, but didn't want to fight the crowds, Keep a look out. I've even got the 5512 XXL for half off  ($15) months after Black Friday. Sometimes they may return some from Layaway so there is slight chance of finding some. I've even passed on a Black Friday Duplo 10557 spotted in April! for $7.

Yes, still a decent deal. I begrudgingly ordered 1. Really wish I could have found one at the $30 sale price.

So much for the Lego shortage of Christmas 2015: they've all been going to these BF boxes!

  • Rainstorm26Rainstorm26 Member Posts: 1,013
Bought one at 48$. If they go on sale again tomorrow I'll return the one for 48$ and get another for 30. That assumes I can get one.  I still think 48 is a very good deal
