It's just three weeks away and deals will start popping up soon. Post here if you see anything good coming up.

So far, all I have seen is Meijer will have City and Friends sets for 20% off.

I also noticed that Meijer has the Dimensions starter packs for $69.99 in their Thanksgiving day ad.

    *facepalm*

Yeah...can somebody fix that for me? Been typing up a few too many things this week that deal with early 2016 projects.

Just start a new thread and we can discuss potential 2016 deals in this one. Non-exclusive Ghostbusters sets 50% off at S@H?

How is that different from any of your other posts?

(Or really, any of mine... so nevermind.)

I'm not really expecting a lot for BF sales. Each year they get worse and worse in terms of real deals IMO. TRU I think did not even put up any amazing sets for discount last year on BF If I recall. Now what will be interesting is the amount of sales done in the season overall up until Christmas and if those sales stack (Like some TRUs did last year or year before, I think it was), however seeing how popular LEGO is now I think it really does reduce the chance for great discounts. Heck I think even Cyber Monday was a yawner on sites like Amazon compared to '14

Last year was a real bust for me for LEGO sales.  And this year amazon UK is charging more to ship to the US,  so no good deals there. Not expecting great sales for the "premium" brand.

Target preview ad is out.  $55ea for:

Arctic base #60036,  Lego movie drop ship #70815,  creator bike shop/cafe #31026.

Definitely cheaper before, definitely cheaper before, and maybe the cheapest we've seen.

(The first two went through 50% clearance at Target and Wal-Mart this summer, if I'm not mistaken).

I got dropships at target for 50% off for sure.
  • scotty12scotty12 Member Posts: 850
^^ Very true.  I was able to get the TLM Dropships for 50-70% at WM and Target this summer.  But only WM had the Bike Shop on clearance this summer at $64.  Targets here still have them on the shelves.
  • wagnerml2wagnerml2 Member Posts: 1,376
Yes, I got several of the Bases and Dropships for 50% off this summer as well.  At this point I would question how many they actually have in stock.

Yep. I can't remember all the sets they had the deals on last year, but it was the along the same lines if I remember correctly - two or three older sets that had already been clearanced out earlier. One of them was the Creator Family House. Anyways, my Target had a big fat none of them for the sale.

My hope is that Amazon will match, although they were not all that great at doing so last year. Cyber Monday 2014 sucked pretty hard too.

I actually just ordered the bike shop from amazon for $61.

And the dropship is $56 on amazon right now.

Arctic base and drop ship were both at target for $40.

They ship out extra copies specifically for the sale. They screwed up with the Family House last year and they all arrived a week later and were sold at $42 until they were gone.

The dropships have long been wiped out from the Targets around me.

I have been camping this set on Amazon for a freaking year waiting for it to hit 30% off. Finally, thanks to you, I was able to snag one at the price I wanted it for.

Thanks gor for the heads up!

None of my targets ever got to $40 for the Arctic base :(

If you spend $75 on Black Friday Target will give you a coupon good for 20% off a total purchase a couple weeks later(can't remember exact days).

The 20% off coupon is good from Dec 4-13 and is good on the entire store with some exclusions. It's the same that they did last year, but I can't remember if Lego was excluded. I would not be surprised if Lego is excluded this year as it seems to be listed more and more in coupon exclusions.

I wonder if the excess inventory was from the Canadian Target store closures.

At my local Walmart they probably had about 100 10697's and they were already $30.

I remember there being a % off discount that stacked on top of the $30 price tag for the tall brick box. I wonder if we will see the same this time
  • pharmjodpharmjod Member Posts: 2,916
I could be wrong, but I'm guessing you are seeing #10695 That set was a Wal-Mart exclusive back around easter for $20, then it went up to $30 and now I'm seeing them in the stores in large numbers at $30 again. If you are actually seeing #10697's that would be surprising. They usually have those on their own pallet on Black Friday and not before. I'd be buying them now at that price though if I stumbled on them for sure.

That's a good price for those. Lots of great pieces in 10697.

I remember sending my college kid out last year to pick up a list of things including these lego boxes that were $30. She texted me from the store "ok mom I am the only one standing here by these lego boxes. Nobody cares about these. I'm moving on to the electronics dept. I need my beats pill. I'll get these on my way out. Don't panic. I'm sure they'll all still be here".

"nobody cares about these"?! Sacrilege! ;)

I got that last year!  Only everyone cared and I was NOT gettig in that mob, so I walked away. Later while checking out I found one on the floor by the register where someone had decided not to get it at the last minute. Score for me!

The creative towers in my area were absolutely wiped in about .2 seconds last year.  I ended up with two, but only b/c my BF shopping powerhouse of a sister spotted them in the returns area.

This is great news. I missed out on #10664 last year, hopefully I can get my hands on #10697 this year.

I going to get one so I can moc stuff
  • madforLEGOmadforLEGO Member Posts: 10,834
Good luck getting them when you have people pile half a pallet into carts.
Would be nicer if Walmart would limit them to 1 or 2. In any case Ill likely be watching for these to make an appearance on Walmart.com

Last year they were available at walmart.com during the sale. I think this year I'm going to go to a different store AND order online AND have some of my friends from around the US look for them while they are out and about that night. Hopefully between all of those I can snag a couple.

Oh man oh man oh man. This makes me feel really conflicted. On the one hand, #10697 is an amazing set with an amazing parts selection. On the other hand, I already have a huge LEGO collection that I have a hard time managing. I have been trying really, really hard to avoid bringing LEGO into the house besides the specific sets and themes on my personal wish list, and it hasn't been working nearly as well as I'd hoped. Probably not a good idea to buy that set for my own collection.

Realistically, 10697 would be an ideal gift for somebody just starting a LEGO collection. I have a cousin who will be turning four this year and who has only just barely started getting into regular LEGO (she's gotten a Disney Princess set and a Juniors set). So maybe what I'll do is pick up one of those for her as a Christmas present. $30 for 1500 bricks, including lots of bricks in rare colors and useful parts like cartoon eyes, is an unbelievable value!

I just wonder if they will cancel orders if their system gets swarmed and issue orders when they shouldn't.

Yeah, I was at the WM in Lewis Center and they went just as fast. I'll definitely be grabbing a few this year as well. My niece loved the Duplo tower from last year, so I'm sure she'll love the "big kids Legos" this time around. :)

I was very fortunate last year to have found  store  a week after Black Friday that still had an almost entire pallet of the Creative Tower sets.

^ You're right.  I ended up getting one...but I was given one I believe during the pre-Black Friday stuff....I know I didn't buy anything the day of Black Friday.  I was able to use it on LEGO.  There were only a 1/2dozen exclusions....stuff like cameras, phones, IPAD and either playstation of Xbox stuff.  I ended up with a SH Batcave Lego, groceries, a Wii U system, and clothes for the niece and nephew.

Looks like TRU will have dimensions starter packs for $64.99, select fun packs for BOGO 60% off, 30% off ultra agents, and coast guard patrol for $50.99.
  • pharmjodpharmjod Member Posts: 2,916
30% off Ultra Agents is great. I'd like to take advantage, but I refuse to get out early with the madness. I guess I'll just have to see what is left over in the afternoon.

I placed a successful order for #10697 after an hour of going in circles on Walmart website. There is a limit of 1 per person,I hope I don't get an email of disappointment.

They're out of #10697 already. :( Hope they restock!
