At $260, it is a tad expensive, at $220 on Amazon right now, it is worth buying. Probably will be here for another year, but you never know when the sale ends. Or get from TRU on BOGO.
I've built a few UCS sets over the past few months (10019, 10129, 10134). Last year built the 7191, 7181, 10188, 10030, 10179 before taking them all down (lack of space). They're all great sets. But other than the 10179 Falcon, this is probably my second favorite UCS set of all time. It just looks impressive once built.
Furthermore, this set has also somehow passed the "home boss" test. The x-wing, y-wing, corellian, and 10030 destroyer couldn't last two weeks before being complained about. But the shuttle has been up for a year and counting (along with my snowspeeder, at 3 weeks and counting)...
So I'll definitely have a couple in my closet before it retires. The only thing that I would complain about though is the weak packaging for the set. Instead of the more sturdy box that comes with the frigate or the falcon, the box used for a set of this size and weight is just pitiful. Between what I see at the LEGO stores (especially when they shelf them standing up) and amazon/TRU shipments, the ability to spot and acquire a truly dead mint MISB set has been nearly impossible. I've had to return a couple to TRU before because of heavy creasing/seal tape coming off during transit. Even now the 2 I have on-hand still have minor creases..Who knows, maybe that will turn into a MISB value growth potential in the future...
