    I hate stickers.

£100 set and they cannot even manage to provide a flat sticker sheet.

Just seen the new Nexo Knights on another web site. Really looking forward to getting them. Are they caring a new shield or is it just me??

^ I've just come to embrace the weirdness.  I can say, the store manager at TRU was quite impressed I was able to almost immediately identify a Hot Dog Guy and the Space Trooper.

Not to mention the Gargoyle, Witch and Tiger Lady from S14.

Weirdly impressed.  Probably not a good thing, but who cares, right?

    Think he was just jealous!!

I have decided that I hate sorting. Once I get all these sets sorted and rebuilt, if I ever have to disassemble them again, they will go in labeled ziplock baggies. I don't see how people do this on a regular basis.
  • Thanos75Thanos75 Member Posts: 1,120
Sometimes I'm actually in the mood to tear down a set and sort it out. Other times it's like mowing the grass. You know you really need to do it but it's something you need to build yourself up to.

Picking up a bricktober set at TRU.

with the extended double points at lego store, I can wait a little bit longer.

Can I just have a little gripe here?? Right then, just got set #8654 out of storage and lots of the stickers are not just peeling but degrading and breaking into little bits. Now I've seen this before and to tell the truth that's why I don't use the stickers supplied but its just really annoying. Ive been thinking of going through all my stickers to find some to use on a new build (red lego space racer) but if that's what happens why would I ever use them? When I was going through my 60s 70s lego a few weeks ago I found stickers on them that were still pretty much perfect. Why cant TLG make quality stickers any more???? The stickers should last as long as the lego does plain and simple!

p.s sorry if this has been spoken about before.
  • Thanos75Thanos75 Member Posts: 1,120
Stickers suck. I rarely put them on a set anymore. I just put them in the binder with all the other unused sticker sheets.

Yep, that's what I do really, but this time I wanted to use them and I don't think I should any more.

Went to The Lego Store for the first time in a while. Picked up the Thanksgiving set. Will likely snag the two available Winter sets and Wall-E to get the double points and free holiday train.

Have today taken delivery of the #4757 I won on Ebay,  which makes the fourth Harry Potter set I have bought in the last couple of weeks in addition to a #4766, #4841 and #4720.

I blame Mark Guest for these purchases,  for letting me write an article about the Harry Potter theme for Bricks and reminding me how much I love it.

I have sorted out 1 box of LEGO and built them. I have sorted out the second box but haven't built them yet. I am looking at the 10 more boxes of LEGO to be sorted and whimpering.

Have to post this. Was at a wedding last weekend for a fellow Bricksetter who was kind enough to invite my wife and I. The chapel was lovely and here we are during the ceremony, all is normal. Time for the readings.

We start with the usual 1 Corinthians 13:4-13 (Love is patient...yada, yada, yada), then we get to the second reading...

"Everything is better when we stick together
    Side by side
    You and I
    Gonna win forever
    Let's party forever

    We're the same
    I'm like you
    You're like me
    We're all working in harmony

    Everything is awesome
Everything is cool when you're part of a team
    Everything is awesome
    When we're living our dream"

The reception was absolutely fantastic. Complete with a LEGO creation table for guests to build something for the bride & groom to share their moment. Guest creations were displayed with a note as to what it represents. Just a fantastic idea that the adults and kids alike loved. I highly recommend this for a reception.

    --

...And the wedding gift was straight cash, which I know we be used wisely for more plastic-studded goodness.

Have decided on my first moc, I told the kids I needed every white brick and component in their collection and I wanted them to 'help' sort it.  they were not amused!

Our LUGBULK order arrived today. There's no feeling quite like having a pallet full of bricks dropped off in your driveway.

Now, to get ready for the massive sorting party this weekend.

I was bargain hunting today and I found a fake Lego Darth Vader and misc parts. I actually thought it was real at first.  When I was carrying around the baggy towards the register I noticed something weird about one of the parts.  At further inspection I started seeing that the LEGO logo was no where to be found on any of the pieces.  You would never know Darth Vader was a fake unless you get really close to see if logos were on hips and recessed stud on the head.  I still bought it after I explained to the cashier that it wasn't real and she hacked the price.  I admit I got a kick out of it...My first fake find!

Taking kids and wife to town today and a visit to the Lego shop is on the cards. Just hope the wife doesn't speak too much to the staff and if we do get anything no points card, cant let her see the receipt with my point balance!

^Grab a broomstick, hit the ceiling with it to get your parents attention, then ask them for more money to fix your car ;)

Turns out the kids have a poor selection of white parts which will put a bit of a damper on my moc. I was eyeing up the wife's DO and campervan and was told to 'go away and don't think about it' only with a LOT more colourful language!

^me too, I just need to figure out if I have either of them! I got one set cheap last year in the Lego store but cant remember what one. Think in safe getting this years. Getting into the Lego cupboard requires moving half the boys furniture around so doesn't happen often

I think Santa's Workshop was the one available last year. Were there any others?

Surely you must know which sets you have? What's the BrickSet database for??!! ;-)

On that note, I know that people are upset that they've re-released the Toy Store, which I can totally understand, but I'm very happy that they have done so and really hope that they re-release the others as well in years to come, along with a new one, so everyone can be happy.
  • bandit778bandit778 Member Posts: 2,398
Have just ordered the workshop just in case it sells out due to being available last year and those that missed it grabbing them all. I am waiting till 22nd to get the toy shop as it being a re release should be a safer bet to still be in stock to get the train.
  • nexandernexander Member Posts: 908
It might have been the village market I got. And I'm not 100% sure what I have, my sets tend to get stored away before the wife notices and I don't always update my brickset list. The toyshop is a safe bet to get though
