Am I right in thinking Lego will ship my tires once they come back in stock? Without me reordering? At this rate I will have to put my tumbler up on bricks for a while in order to build the batpod.
  • ShibShib Member Posts: 5,477
@steveomcl - Do it, and put a Batman mini figure underneath the tumbler with a wrench to look like he's working on it ;-)

Don't worry! When I get home from my holidays there should be every piece waiting for me apart from the tyres.... The tumbler will undergo some surgery

Hold the phone! Lego have just emailed me informing me my tires have shipped! Happy days

Those who are looking for shields- TrU (and their sister store FAO) has plenty of the HF Flea Pod sets at $14.99 each (free shipping on orders $19.99+). Mine were shipped today. If/when they run out of those, they also have the other 4 HF sets with multiple shields in them.
I ordered two of those sets yesterday and am patiently awaiting them to ship.

I was at a Toys R Us Tuesday night that had #44027 for $13 instead of $15 but only had one left. That was a little disappointing as it would saved me a couple dollars if they had had two. At that point it became cheaper to just order two and get the free shipping.

Well my shipped order of weeks ago has just been deemed lost by LEGO and surprise surprise, no stock to replace it with.  Refunded.  :/
  • steveomclsteveomcl Member Posts: 202
So the set shows 311 pcs/parts..... Bricklink reports this set to have 338 pieces as does rebrickable, anyone know why?

I would love to see some creative person produce a nameplate for the Batpod similar to the one for the UCS Tumbler. I would except I'm just not graphically creative.

    Here's the UCS Tumber nameplate:

    Here are the Bat-Pod Specs:

^I'm in for one of those, but don't have the skills needed to do one myself.
^^ did you just lose tyres or it had shields in it aswell?  I'm still waiting for tyres (without shields) posted a week a go.  Nightmare if it had shields.  I have at least 3 spare shields from hunting around, let me know if you need them - you can have them at cost of course (they are in a #44027 for what its worth, cost me £11 ish).

What are the dimensions of the UCS card?

What are the dimensions of the UCS card?
It's an 8x16 tile, so roughly 6.4cm/2.5in tall by 12.8cm/5in wide. If printing a custom sticker you'd want to cut it a little smaller than that so that it doesn't run all the way to the edge, just as LEGO does with their stickers.

I've just finished putting together my brick link version of the set, and all I have to say is wow! I have to say that the winners have an incredible looking set on their hands, far surpassed my expectations of it! Length wise it's a tad smaller than the tumbler, and looks incredible on display next to it!

I just measure the dimensions of the UCS Tumbler nameplate sticker, and it's 121mm x 59mm.

I know the color isn't right, but does anyone know if #4526 is the correct scale?

Wouldn't surprise me if someone actually bids on the wheels.  Look at his auction for the factory shield parts.

I think I'm a yes to the black hubs too.  Have the greys also, just to keep it official (if needed).

^ Per those eBay auctions, that's $400.00 of pieces.
  • LegoboyLegoboy Member Posts: 8,827
    ^Wow!  $400???

I was digging through my parts bin and I realized I have a bunch of hose HF shield things. If anyone is up for trading a set of six for a pair of those tires let me know.
  • steveomclsteveomcl Member Posts: 202
Anyone who buys a bricklinked version of the batpod on Ebay is insane! Unless of course I decide to sell mine and they buy it! In which case I will laugh.... Use the money to bricklink more bat pods and build my empire and live off other peoples stupidity.

My two ordered #44027 shipped yesterday from Toys R Us.

It works out to be $5 per shield piece, but that's still cheaper than market rate last I checked.

It also gives me approximately 17 of the needed 300 some parts. The rest I will start ordering off of B&P soon.

If someone can scan me from the front the tumbler nameplate I can create one for the bat pod
  • LegoboyLegoboy Member Posts: 8,827
Just grabbed this from Google Images.  Any good?

Excuse my ignorance, but why are the shields so popular? Surely they'll be back in stock on B&P at some point.
  • mampepinmampepin Member Posts: 66
As mentioned previously, unless the shields make an appearance in a new set sometime, LEGO is unlikely to produce anymore, as they haven't been used in a new set since last year (except for the Bat-Pod).
  • Wicksy80Wicksy80 Member Posts: 596
Oh ok, thanks for that. Might try and grab some then.
  • madejp86madejp86 Member Posts: 287
I was able to pick up a few of the LEGO Hero Factory Breez Flea Machine which has 3 of the grey shields. People will actually pay a premium just for those. I was able to make my money back and then some but the prices above $8 are crazy
  • Wicksy80Wicksy80 Member Posts: 596
My local has some #40116 for £4.99 each but only has 1 in them. Wondering if it's worthwhile or not?
  • LegoboyLegoboy Member Posts: 8,827
^ Honestly, I think it'll only get worse so I would buy them now while you can.

    Something like this, perhaps?

I don't have any pictures of the lego Bat Pod to use instead of the real thing, however...

Excellent.  My only criticism (if you can call it that) is that you shouldn't mix imperial and metric.

    780mm = 2ft. 7 in.
    580mm = 1ft 11 in.

    Other than that....Wow!

What is the correct spelling of Bat-Pod anyway?

I've seen Batpod, Bat-Pod, and Bat Pod all used.

My three things on the sticker that you made @benbacardi would be this:
    1. Correct spelling of Bat-Pod, unless that is the official spelling, thus the question I asked in this post.
    2. Replace the Bat-Pod picture on it with a picture of the Lego one, just to make it more similar to the Tumbler sticker.
    3. As Legoboy mentioned, I'd use Imperial measurements on it and not mix or match, or have stickers for both Imperial and Metric measurements.

I hope those three suggestions don't come off as being too critical or anything, I would have never been able to create something like that, and it is quite amazing.

Weight should be 728 pounds, (not in kg)

i would take out the dash too and leave it "BATPOD"

^ The official LEGO set has Bat-Pod as the spelling.
  • adello25adello25 Member Posts: 361
According to The Dark Knight Manual book, the official name of this vehicle is the "Tumbler Escape Pod" so the name "Bat-Pod" could just be made up so not sure of there is an "official" spelling other than what Lego used for the set name
  • Russell844Russell844 Member Posts: 2,482
I would use Bat-Pod since that is what LEGO called it on the box.
  • samiam391samiam391 Member Posts: 4,505
I would change the weight (kg) to (tons), which would also match the Tumbler units.

    In addition:
"Grappling gun, machine gun, cannon" to "Grappling gun, Machine gun, Cannon"

That may just be me though. Looks fantastic otherwise, in my opinion. Great work.

I would like to see the same spec description titles used for the batpod plate as what's shown on the tumbler plate.  From what I researched, the batpod in the movie was powered by a Honda CRF450R engine.
