Here's the names for the next wave of Minecraft sets:

21123 The Iron Golem
21124 The End Portal
21125 The Jungle Tree House
21126 The Wither

I know Minecraft sets tend to get a bit of a bad rep from AFoLs on here, but what do people think?

Oh and the next Ideas sets are:

21304 Doctor Who
21305 Maze

Not a huge Technic fan but that #42054 tractor looks like it will be pretty cool looking at the real life version

I had hoped there would be more licensed Volvo technic sets so quite excited about that.

sweet nectar! an A-Team van would make me so happy. Hope it gets made into a real set as well and not just a dinky 30 piece Dimension thing though.

The Dimensions sets seem to have placeholder names. Set 71251 does appear to be very suggestive though. The rest could be almost anything, and I'm sure people will have fun guessing!

There are also sets with the acronyms ET, FB, GR, KR, MI, and S1 among the dimensions sets.

E.T. I could see. Mission: Impossible doesn't seem right. The others don't mean anything to me (well, except TTG which is likely placeholder for something tied to a Traveler's Tales game).

    Good work, OP.

We did know some of this from the Amazon.de leak a month or so ago, but LEGO requested that we remove it from the database.

Thanks. It did occur to me that someone else must have posted elsewhere about it in the past, but I couldn't find any info on Brickset about it.

And although I do occasionally frequent Eurobricks, I certainly wasn't going to hunting through multiple forums looking for that info, on the off-chance it may be there ;)

I just realized MI could stand for Monkey Island, but that's doubtful considering Disney now owns it.

Yep, virtually everything is gone. I've checked a few (which I didn't post on here) from a list I did, and all of them now show the error page.

I wonder if they just removed all the current ones, or actually changed their procedures so that forthcoming sets never get put on like that again?
  • andheandhe UKMember Posts: 2,720
I know we've had BTTF and Ghostbusters sets, so 80's properties seem to still be relevant, but what kids is going to get excited about an A-Team set (cue many posts saying 'My kids love the original A-Team and they're only 3 years old' blah blah).

If true it would seem they're really attempting a 'catch-all' approarch to the game. Releasing as many properties as possible so they're at least one that appeals to everybody.

ps. Love the A-Team, would go mad for Dukes of Hazzard as well.
  • PaperballparkPaperballpark UKMember Posts: 3,403
Somehow I can't see them doing a Dukes of Hazzard car with a Confederate flag sticker on the roof of it...

Yes that did cross my mind...

Seeing as a lot of the properties are coming from stuff Warner Bros owns I thought I'd see if I could glean any clues...

Problem was Warner Bros seems to own half the entertainment world.

I think a few people did a few weeks back. They kept deleting them and adding names, even summer ones.
  • PaperballparkPaperballpark UKMember Posts: 3,403
Those sets didn't make the front page of Brickset though! I suspect that although Lego employees probably have time to browse Brickset's front page every other day or so, they won't have time to delve into the various forums to see what is being unearthed.

LEGO has asked RLUGs refrain from sharing the Dimensions codenames and to help contain the leak. I will therefore remove them from the list above.

    Thanks :)

Considering that Disney have a competing TTL game, probably not.
  • MattsWhatMattsWhat Studley, UKMember Posts: 1,643
Yeah, I considered that.  But maybe it's better to be in both camps and make some money whichever one people choose.  I haven't followed dimensions at all, so I wasn't sure if anything in the princesses line etc. has been lined up for it.  I just wandered in looking for minecraft info for the little one and it's turned into a guess the accronym thread, I couldn't resist trying!

I'm a little confused here; I read this after everything got deleted. Does this mean there are going to be more waves of DLC for Lego Dimensions after the original four? But I thought they had only acquired 14 licenses. Are they going to update the box?

I do think it's possible that Disney will eventually change their minds and allow their properties to be used in Lego Dimensions, but if/when that does happen, you can rest assured that it will be much more obvious. What are the chances that, when they finally relent and allow their franchises into the game, Monsters Inc. (a brand that has never before appeared in Lego and would require specialized figs for almost every character) would appear first, before Lego mainstays like Star Wars or Pirates of the Caribbean or Marvel Super Heroes? Slim to none, I reckon.

To briefly go back to the original thread topic, ;-), I'm really looking forward to the 21123 The Iron Golem, 21124 The End Portal and 21125 The Jungle Tree House. I'll probably get 21126 The Wither, for completeness-sake, depending on what it is exactly.
As Paperballpark said, Minecraft sometimes gets a bad rep with AFOLs but, personally, I think it's fantastic for building landscape and cave / dungeon dioramas, which I enjoy greatly. The only one so far that I don't think is excellent is The Ender Dragon, apart from the dragon itself, which is a nice build (IMHO).
Anyway, roll on 2016 and new sets of all kinds! :-)

Resurrecting this thread... I've not yet seen any pics of the 2016 Minecraft sets. Has anyone seen anything anywhere?

We already have the descriptions, of course:

Interestingly, the new minecraft sets with names are listed in the "minifigure scale" category. Will the other 2 unnamed sets be any scale other than minifigure?
  • JudgeChuckJudgeChuck UKMember Posts: 1,092
    edited November 2015
Interesting question, but I would think it highly unlikely that LEGO would revert back to the Cuusoo / Ideas microfigure scale for any new sets.
The microfig sets were ending, with the retirement of #21107 The End, soon after the release of the first minifig sets.
Also, having done a forest, a village, The Nether and The End, I'm not sure what they could do next. I'm not sure a desert would be particularly interesting, for example! ;-)

    @JudgeChuck Good sport! :)

If the next generation is of any indication where Lego may be going with this series, I will venture to say these should be the last of them.

Of the Lego builders in my class, only a handful build the Minecraft sets.
Of the Minecraft players in my class, most are moving to Roblox and/or Terraria.
I think the interest is waning with the younger generation for Minecraft toys.

Which is interesting why Lego would do a Angry Birds set! It's so outdated!

    I'm always good-humoured, as long as it's reciprocated... :-)

You may well be right that the 2016 sets may be the last iteration, but they can't be doing too badly for TLG to have some sets planned for 2016 in the first place. If the theme wasn't successful enough, they could probably easily pull it and only lose the development time on the upcoming sets.

I am just hoping that we finally get a village and villagers, before the theme does end. Perhaps there might be something in those, as yet, unnamed sets, #21127 and #21128.
