NOT BendyBadgers Big Bonus Ball Bonanza - Polybag Giveaway (29th August)

In the absence of @bendybadger this week, and as I was one of the lucky winners of a previous draw, I felt it only right to give something back and keep tradition going ;)

Looking at my dupes, this week you're playing for #40140 Flower Cart, #30274 AT-DP, #30302 Spider Glider and #30282 Super Secret Police Enforcer.

Everyone should play by the usual @bendybadger rules.

To enter this time, tell us what is the first Lego set you remember getting as a child. For me, it was #671 Shell Petrol Tanker.

This is based on the UK national lottery bonus ball drawn on 29th August

1st comment gets number 1 up until the end of the first page where the last person gets number 49. So we should have a full page of yes pleases. There are only 49 places so if you are on the second page and all has gone smooth then you are out of luck and will have to wait till the next giveaway.

I don't remember my first ever... Maybe a Paradisa or Fabuland set?
  • alldarkeralldarker Member Posts: 224
Definitely 608 Taxi! I'll never forget that one!

For me it was the light and sound fire engine number 6480. I loved that thing, the twisty knob for different sounds and the lightbar with changeable colours. Looks so basic now though.and the battery pack was most of the vehicle.

My first set was 6081: King's Mountain Fortress. I remember I found dropping minifigures through the trap door very funny.

Came downstairs into the livingroom one morning to this (bought 2nd hand) fully built and laid out on the floor... to this day in my imagination this set is gigantic!

So, in all honesty I couldn't just write the set number and name, it had to be bigger, exactly the way I remember it :)

I was into other things as a child & don't remember getting any Lego so my guess would be a copy of #3841 from a charity shop somewhere

Cant remember any new sets, remember my space stuff, inc crater bases though, it might have been second hand. My mum gave it all to her school so there is still kids out there playing with classic space Lego!

#6810 Laser Ranger. I know there were others but it is the first and strongest memory I have of completing a set on my own.

#6473 Res-Q Cruiser according to my Brickset collection, though I feel like there must have been something before that. Basic bricks probably. My memory fails me.

The first set I remember getting was the Black Knight's Guard Shack, I think. Either that or 1695 Treasure Chest. All of my first sets were the small Knights/Castle themed ones.

Though I think it was actually Duplo set 1957 with the storage bunny. I loved the bunny.

Not 100% sure on my first set, but in my mind it was #918 as it is still my favourite

#911 was my first set!  Still have a few bits about!!!
  • LegoTTLegoTT Member Posts: 487
Technically my first Lego product that I remember playing with was a box of assorted Duplo blocks!  Some of my earliest memories were creating massive "forts" for Duplo figures to hide out in.

First Lego set was a small Pirates set, had an alligator and a palm tree- can't for the life of me remember the set number!

I can never quite remember, #671 Shell Tanker is also the one I remember having very early.  I think I was given a second hand #360 Gravel Works but can't remember if I already had some other sets.  I still have both sets, although Gravel Works is no longer complete with the original pieces (it has one of those funny base plates which is immediately to hand!)

A small space set somewhere before 1983. No idea which one.
  • cmrt1014cmrt1014 Member Posts: 396
I didn't get Lego until I was older, so never had any as a kid.  My first set was probably one of the small space ones I found at the local grocery store.

I think it was #886 Space Buggy for me

    Thank you, @iso3200.
