Hmmm my experience is the opposite. Everything I've had from the US has been really well packed. True I've specifically asked for it to be well packed, but they have come up trumps each time. Also from what I can tell shipping costs from the US to UK seem to be quite cheap, but for us to post in the other direction is really expensive. Has killed every trade i've thought of doing with anyone in the US. :(

@Mojoest--interestingly enough, I'd have said the cost of shipping from the US is higher than shipping to the US from most of Europe. When our international postage was last adjusted the minimum cost of shipping took a big leap up. Admittedly, I usually deal in small amounts of parts or minifigs, and things might be different if you're shipping boxed sets. But the cost of shipping definitely means I normally buy sets from US vendors.

Action Comics just keeps rising - starting to think I missed the boat. Every listing currently on eBay looks to be in excess of $200 - a couple of weeks back they seemed to be settling at $170-$180.

Very pleased my Dagobah (number 700) arrived safely this morning from the US, as @Mojoest notes above very well packed.  Cost me about £65 plus another £35 for Amazon global shipping, VAT etc. That doesn't seem too bad, it was tracked all the way, including the flight it came on!

So they are selling for that, or just are listed for that?

Selling, I'm looking at auctions only. Most are at or above the $200 mark with hours or days still to go.

Ultrons Throne arrived today, rounding off my deliveries. Thankfully all have arrived in perfect condition. So when's NYCC?

^^ why is that car top yellow?

^ Looks like a bricklinked version, the 2x Tile, Modified 1 x 1 with Clip (holding the rear bumper) are also the incorrect mold for that set.

And the Ultron guards are missing their collar pieces.

^ & ^^ Yeah you're right, there a few bits in both the built sets which are different (some internal bits which can't be seen too) as they were Bricklinked. @ColoradoBricks I hadn't realise about the clips though, good spot! I don't mind the yellow roof, green would be better, but now I have the set (both the boxes will be staying sealed, which in a way is a real pity) I kind of hope it doesn't get released in green anywhere else, just to keep it exclusive.

Can anyone confirm the shields are the same between the sdcc and retail sets

@Geddes, looks to be the same as the ones in #76017, #76032, #76041, #76042, etc, but the printing on Sam's shield looks a little more faint/less solid, probably just a minor printing issue.
  • GeddesGeddes Member Posts: 574
Yea mines got a minor black mark on it and is faint. in the promotion pictures it's the same though.
  • MojoestMojoest Member Posts: 477
Here's mine. When you say black mark do you mean the line around the star? The white ring print looks to be fainter on the SDCC one compared to the retail ones

This is the shield I got in the pack, it's lighter than the photo shows. I've switched it for a spare

NYTF 2012 Captain America also has a fainter shield printing then the shields available in retail sets. They're made in small batches (~125 and ~1,500) compared to those produced in retail, which I imagine results in a more error prone printing process.

@samiam391 so you reckon a marked shield doesn't decrease the value

Are you talking about the black mark on the white ring of the shield? I can't tell if that's from the camera or a mark on the shield.
  • GeddesGeddes Member Posts: 574
    It's a mark, yes.

Got my #SDCC2015 Throne of Ultron today, seems like TLG have taken on the feedback about the seals on these type of boxes being too flimsy...

You should just make the BLed version with Superman a 'Taxi' and be done with it

Just curious, are these exclusive sets reasonably priced at the actual SDCC event? In other words, are they priced relatively close to similar regular type sets sold in stores?

I understand these are marked up for resale on eBay but I’m curious about their price range at SDCC.

Sorry if it’s already been discussed in this thread... I haven’t read through all the pages :-P

$40 i think. Most re-sellers are probably trying to recoup some of their outlay rather than make a tonne of money.

Received a S@H today, came with a DC Comics, very nice quality paper with a double sided poster of The SDCC superman set shows at the Issue #1 cover and Batman Vs Superman on the other side, I don't remember reading it anywhere so was pleasant surprise.

@ColoradoBricksWhat did you order? Price threshold? I want a copy of that poster/copy. Can you upload more pix?
  • ColoradoBricksColoradoBricks Member Posts: 1,659
@vwong19 I don't think there was a price threshold, but part of every order. I ordered the #70751 Temple of Airjitzu along with a SW key chain for this month poster.
I found the pic of that poster on the LEGO Twitter account, Poster is about 19.5 x 15.5 inches. Here is the pic of the comic book along with the other side of the poster.

@ColoradoBricks - Nice. The DC comic book was handed out at SDCC, but I don't recall if a poster was included. It goes well with last years Batman comic.

Received a backordered #75901 Mystery Plane Adventures Scoody-Doo Set, the same comic book and poster was in the package, so looks like it is added to everything going out.
