I just sold my first post retirement Deathstar. In the conversation I had with the buyer, I discovered that there have been some changes over the years that I was unaware of.

1. In 2010, five of the minifigs were slightly changed.
    - The Han Solo heads changed. Old version had solid black eyes and the newer version has white pupils
    - Same change on the head of Obi-wan.
    - The DS troopers had LBG helmets which was changed to black.

2. Did the box ever change? The official box photos show the front with an age of 12+. Current copies have 14+ on them.

Another other changes other the years?

The alternate figs parts are interesting. BL lists quite a few alternate parts, but nothing about the figs.

If you go here.  http://www.minifigs.nl/swsets/mfnl-10188.html it will show you all of the differences.  This site has located all of the differences in the Star Wars sets as far as minifigures go.

Post retirement DS?  S@H says they are currently making more...is that incorrect information?

At the time of the original post. It was assumed the set was retired.

I think another change is that they modularized the instructions and parts too.
