Hubby tried to put up our new shelf to display more Lego, but our walls are weird and the holes ended up way to big for the shelf. :( Guess the shelf will have to wait til we move back to the states!

I am lucky enough to enjoy my job, but today it got even better. My boss walked over with a plastic shopping bag and said he had a surprise for me. Handed over the bag and it was filled with polybags. He is moving house and found them, and knowing I was a huge Lego nut he just gave them to me. I will have to update my trade thread :)

Just picked up and built the Invizable and Drillex Ultra Agents sets.  Kind of out of sympathy, now I've read we won't be getting any more here - but weird thing (and this goes for all the UA sets I've got), they are so much cooler in person than the box photos made them look.

Been figuring out where to store 170 sets prior to Bricktastic and the 85kg of play bricks that were given to FB on Friday. I think we need a bigger unit ;-)

@MissKittyFantastico, I would say the same, but I still have to put #70164 & #70165 before I move on to the second series...

    ^Nice! Custom stickers?
  • Pitfall69Pitfall69 Member Posts: 11,454
^Yes. It was already expensive to build in the first place, so adding authentic stickers would have definitely broken the bank. I am also working on a "Black Bonnet", so I would have to buy 2 sticker sheets. I have to draw the line somewhere :)

I've been buying clearance sets at W-mart all week, all I managed to obtain today was a Lego dvd w/Batzarro minifigure.
He was supposed to show up at The Hall of Justice but instead ended up at the Town Hall looking for the Justice of The Peace.

The one up close is whistling to trigger the rotating head. The man in the back is freaking out (see why at getbrixo.com). Its part of a short movie we made to promote Brixo. We are preparing to launch a Kickstarter campaign soon.

Or how about you just tell us? I have nothing against whatever your product may be, and no problem with you advertising it in a Lego-related forum (if the product is Lego related), but it looks much less like spam if you tell us what it is rather than pointing us to a website no-one's heard of.

boazal As Plasmodium noted^ it would be much better if you tell us directly. I see a lot of chrome on that table and top of the dog's head, and we generally like chrome around here.

You're right, didn't mean to be sneaky.. sorry.
The chrome bricks are part of an add-on to Lego that we developed.
Brixo are chrome plated plastic bricks that conduct electricity. It includes motors, lights and sensors (sound, light, proximity). We are about to go out in Kickstarter and finalizing the awards as we speak.

I hope you will check it out and let me know what you think (the harsh truth please!).

I got the Game of Thrones figs from Citizen Brick for my birthday. They are awesome. But they are not a real LEGO product. But they are great. But do I really need them? But I do like them. I do.

My wife has been looking at Funko Pop figures & as she let me get the SDCC the Collector minifigure last year, she has decided we need to collect Collectors...

    Definitely a GotG day...

It was an ok build for the size of the set and has some nice elements, although I admit I got it almost entirely for Groot and Rocket. The rest of it is getting parted out.
  • VorpalRyuVorpalRyu Member Posts: 2,318
@iccarus, I liked the worker pod, not a bad representation of the ones in the movie, even if I were to part out any of my Marvel sets, I'd probably keep that.

Finally, all the parts have arrived, so made a few micro TARDIS... A few of our friends & family will be getting these as part of their next xmas or birthday present.

    The parts required.

The original design is thanks to a couple people (http://www.flickr.com/photos/legocy) I follow on Flickr.

Trying to learn a bit more about Technic assemblies. Any good reading material out there anyone could recommend? I'm working on something that I'd like to have a few spinning propellers on that link up to a single point.

^ iccarus. Try asking at the Brickset Builders section or
    Eurobricks Technic section.

@iccarus  there's a builder named Sariel who wrote a book on Technic building that's really good.  He's also got some instructions and tutorials on his website.  http://sariel.pl/downloads/

Beating my head against a wall trying to figure out how they did the SNOT window-bottoms on the plane in the Jurassic Park III section of LEGO Jurassic World--actually have most of the rest figured out and it'd be a pretty nice set if LEGO'd just pack, box and ship it.
  • SirBenSirBen Member Posts: 592
@iccarus You could also look at The LEGO Technic Idea Book: Simple Machines by Yoshihito Isogawa. It has a nice pictoral breakdown of how the various gears work together and the spacing needed for them.
Additionally, I've had good success at times finding a Lego model that uses an assembly or piece that I want to emulate and reviewing pdf instructions downloaded for that model.

Currently working on collecting pieces to moc up the #10196 grand Carousel, doing really well begging and stealing from friends but just about down to the thick end of the inventory now which I suspect will be the bit that costs me a fortune ie dark red inverted slopes, sound brick, sails, and harlequin heads ! Still I reckon I should be able to do it for around £300 if I don't use the green 48x48 base board the cheapest of which I can find is around £70 gbp !!! Am determined not to start building until I have every single piece and hoping to display it at Bricktastic !

Haven't had time to mess with any Lego lately but did pick up the 76031 (Hulk Buster Smash) and 75052 (Mos Eisley Cantina) from Lego.com so that I could get the SW poster.  I would've just gone to the Lego store but don't think I will have time (too much working).  Really want to assemble a set as they're just building up at the moment.

Bought #5003082 Pirate Set off eBay and am just LOVING it.  I know I just paid for a set that was available for free but I just wasn't in the position to spend £50 (£11 I could deal with).  Am really pleased with this purchase, it brings back so many fond childhood memories.

Fed up with people messaging me by eBay asking if I'll ship to Hong Kong.  I've said UK only, so no.  All four accounts have zero or low feedback so I suspect it's the same person but it's very annoying. Trying to stay polite in messaging, though, but when I try to reply to two of them via the App  I get "user ID not found".
