Then I realized it was just a reference to a movie :P
Never been a Ninjago fan but this set is incredible. Some of the best buildings I've seen by LEGO in a while. Definitely want. May have to wait. I still want the Slave I.
It is just there are so many sets being released, and there is such a huge amount of good stuff to collect. I feel TLG is saturating the market with so many sets, maybe even too many.
ps.
I hope this set will stay around for at least 3 years.
l've never bought any ninjago sets but this one looks great
Also, the first wave this year had plenty of lower-priced sets: #70752 ($7) #70753 ($8), #70754 ($15), #70755, #70756, and #70745 ($20), #70746, and #70747 ($30). Despite those having different branding than the new ghost-themed sets, most places will still have those on shelves until at least the beginning of next year. So I think the LEGO Group has good reasons for not flooding the market with even more low-priced sets.
It's really no different than their other themes, which generally start with more low-priced sets at the beginning of the year and move to more high-priced sets in the middle of the year. The only thing making this wave's Ninjago sets seem any different from usual is that it's the first year that the mid-year Ninjago sets have had a decidedly different "theme" for the first and second halves of the year.
You might be right about it being in line with other sets but i can't remember when ninjago had more than one $99+ set let alone three (most likely) coming this year. Also having seven sets that are over $50 seems to be a lot at once, especially for a line that is geared toward kids.
What I'm afraid of is that with so many sets and the cost attached to them, people will quit on the ninjago line altogether.
One last thing, the costs are all assumptions according to the number of pieces in these sets so I might actually be totally off.
The lineup and pricing points are starting to resemble the primary SW line.
By the way, if you're curious about the final USD pricing for the summer Ninjago sets, the online LEGO shop has them all listed as "coming soon", with prices included.
And thanks for the heads up on the pricing.
back to the temple... I wish they included the main characters in regular civilian clothing which they haven't released yet. I also wish they had included a regular Cyrus Borg instead of one of the generic figures.
it's not overpriced like star wars. star wars is like 15 cents per piece, while ninjago is under 10.
Am I in the right discussion? This is '80's cartoon ninjas?
I have little recollection of what Jem was all about, but as a little kid interested in art and doing a lot of drawing, Jem was an interesting cartoon (next to various other sources) for getting an idea on the basics of how to draw attractive girls/females that looked anatomically correct instead of some sort of exaggerated Betty Boop pin-up, Japanese acid eyed animé, or other total caricature type.
Also dude, 'Buddy'?
'Buddy', really?!
I ain't your 'buddy', Brony! In case the sniffing got you high ;)
(not that there is anything wrong with that, if that is your thing)
I don't know about brick and mortar stores (other than LEGO brand stores) that carry direct-to-consumer sets like this, but I know Toys 'R' Us and Target both do on their website, and I imagine other toy stores and department stores might also.
