I like how the last Creator set that I bought (the Log Cabin) came with a minifigure, because to me it went more along with the other lines in "Legoland" (the rest of the minifigure lines). This one actually has a table and chair too. So instead of solely having odd shapes which are meant to represent the idea of the actual object, it had some practical applications that went with the rest of my sets.
What still bothers me in the Creator sets in general though, is the shrubbery and the super angular stylized items. This set, for example, has a mailbox (is it a weird boombox?) that just looks odd to me. Or what about the basketball hoop in that other house set? The shrubbery as well is always little dots for flowers, and grey cheese pieces for rocks. If you're going to include an angular dark grey piece for rocks, why not just include a rock piece? Why not include actual flowers?
Look what you can do with traditional shrubbery:
http://www.brick-town-talk.com/2011/02/i-live-on-land-and-sea.htmlIt would be interesting to see how many people buying the houses in the Creator series actually enjoy the accessories the way they come vs. how many people switch them to fit into their other minifigure lines.
Don't get me wrong, in general I like the Creator series, since it's the closest thing I get to being able to grow my Town. And I do like being able to build three different sets out of the one. But I have to ask, is anyone actually a fan of the way they do the shrubbery and accessories in these sets?

As for the lego basketball hoop, i enjoyed that one because it was not giant. Like those horrible NBA hoops that they had in the Lego Sports theme a few years back.
I enjoy the creator a lot and like being able to make the interiors for these semi modular houses. They are a great addition to a town for sure and provide adequate pieces for multiple models. I hope they keep up the line and am glad they have kept coming out with non police/fire buildings. I keep holding my breath that there won't be any more, but after a few in a row I feel a little better. They are really fun to collect and build. ( I realize I have come away from the shrubbery discussion).
I wanted to hear people's views on them because I guess I was confused about the Creator line when it first came out. Yes, you could build three different models and it looked like Lego Town, City, World, whatever, but they didn't include accessories (like furniture, molded pieces, and minifigures), and the scale didn't work with minifigures. So I liked having houses, but was confused whether or not the line was intended to be integrated with other Legoland lines like City and World. Now they seemed to have moved to a middle ground, where you get minifigures, the scale is right, and there is furniture and molded pieces.
Just wondering how many fans there are of the other non-traditional Town, World, City Lego items, in terms of the landscaping and other items where molds may work better.
Oops, distracted typing.
Anyway, ya I should just modify the car and the garage, although I think Lego should have done that to begin with.
