and all of the 7965 stockpilers let out a groan.

New MF and x-wing sound pretty close to the sets that just retired.

7965 is the best, I dont see the new one as any serious competition.

I hope there'll be some battle packs or more smaller sets.

It's like Deja Vu! A Speeder Bike, a Snowspeeder, a TIE Fighter, an X-wing and then the Millenium Falcon. Talk about uninspiring and repetitive.

I suppose we should expect a B-Wing and Slave I...

$80.00 for the X-Wing? That's just ridiculous. The X-Wing is supposed to be the "theme-defining" set, the mid-priced set that's expensive, but low enough that a parent can be pleaded into buying it. $50 dollars has been that average price, and #75917 shows that it's still the price. $80.00? There is no way that's realistic, even for Disney.

It'll sell, since it's from "A, like, totally awesome new movie, which we, like, totally needed!111!!!" - but Disney and LEGO aren't shooting themselves in the foot with this pricing, they're walking into a glass door.

    Repeatedly.

Except they'll sell a billion of each of the sets.

No doubt, but they'd sell two billion if they would put an ounce of thought into the pricing.

I was actually surprised about the reasonable pricing for the sets. They are in line with most of their other themes. The thing about SW sets are the minifigures are quite collectible and appreciate in value more than most other themes and I'm guessing that the X-Wing will come with at least 4 minifigs. One of them should be BB-8 which will be the hot figure to have.

Theh don't need to sell two billion at better prices.  The billion will do just fine.

And sell another billion in 2016...

    Versus what?

The Prequel Trilogy offered so many new vehicles compared to the Original Trilogy. There was the Gungan Sub, MTT, Naboo Starfighter, Jedi Starfighters, Republic Gunships, Republic Venator Cruisers, AT-TE, etc. This set list goes to show the lack of new vehicles in the upcoming movie, if not trilogy.

You have to think this only like 30 years after ROTJ......so most of the vehicles and spacecraft will fairly be the same with some new ones of course. This is a continuation of the older SW Galaxy, in which there was no need to start from scratch so to speak. I think Abrams wanted to stick with the classic vehicle and spacecraft look of IV to VI, with some new twists. I'm really interested in seeing the close ups of the new Star Destroyers and possibly a new SSD.

^and ep4 was only 20 years after ep3. but everything was different. (To sell toys sure but...).

I know they are keeping things similar this time so the nostalgia of the OT continues into NT but would be nice to see a couple new ships. Maybe in wave 2.

the xwing will be different right? they are a newer version in TFA!

The X-Wing, Tie Fighter and Millennium Falcon will indeed be different. Will these differences tranlate to the Lego sets? You also have to remember that there will be different characters includes in these sets. I posted a screen shot that included the tie fighter in another thread; it is indeed different. The MF will have some cosmetic changes and the X-Wing also has some cosmetic changes and a different color scheme.

I modded my mini falcon with a square dish a while ago ;)
the MF is i think the least worthy of a new version in that the radar dish has changed and that's all really at least the xwing is an actual new version of the ship in the film.

And yet kids going to see Episode VII will want something from THEIR Star Wars. Why miss out on an important set that matches their experience, as there was a slightly different one available a few years before with the wrong minifigs on board, if only they (or their parents) had the foresight to buy it in anticipation that their kids would later get into SW7.

The Australian 2HY2015 catalog has a teaser for Star Wars: The Force Awakens sets. No sets pictured or listed (other than a pile of parts presumably from one of the sets), but there is our first pic of the BB-8 minifigure!

The parts look like they are from the speeder thing in the first trailer. BB-8 looks okay, from what I can see. Which is his head. His head looks okay.
