  Not Craigslist, but I managed to get 7641 and 7637 (City Corner and Farm) for £50 posted off Gumtree last summer. I also managed a 7994 City Harbour for £85 posted. (all used). No-one near me seems to ever have any LEGO, so I search nationwide.

  The only thing I've bought was a box of 9V train track for half what it would go for on eBay. There's been a few listings for entire collections ranging from $600 to $2,500 that looked like good value on my Craigslist but I don't sell, it was tempting to start though :). Currently a collector is offloading a whole lot of unopened 2011 & 2012 sets for 80% retail, and there's also some Star Wars and Harry Potter sets listed by other people.

  I bought the entire first two years of Harry Potter sets, complete, with boxes and instructions, for $250. This was two years ago when I was just coming out of my dark ages.
  
  Around that same time I bought an 8421Mobile Crane, with box and instructions, for $70, a 7018 Viking Ship, with box and instructions for $40, and a 1349 Steven Spielberg Moviemaker Set, with sealed contents, for $60.
  
  More recently I got a sealed Mindstorms NXT 8527 for $150, a good condition set of 10182 Cafe Corner instructions for $10, and a 7722 Steam Cargo Train, with box and instructions, for $30.

  Got this mars mission set for 20 bucks with box and instructions. Not complete though had 3 unopened bags plus loose.

  In Canada we have Kijiji (same thing basically) and the best ive done is 45 lbs of loose lego for 150$. Had a couple early star wars sets mostly complete but no minifigures... well a few but you had to rebuild from random bits. You do have to be quick tho, lots of times its a race... first come first served.

  I haven't had much luck with Craigslist. Most people I contact just post stuff to rope you in. I had one a couple of weeks ago and they said hey bought the set for $70 and were selling it for $30. Turns out the set was current and retails for $40. Not exactly a deal when it wasn't something I necessarily wanted. I'd love to snag a quantity of parts for $100 but all those complete sets are awesome!

  I am glad to hear that I am not the only one that has had mixed results. I had not really tried much recently because I had had such bad luck, but this deal today has at least renewed my faith to the point that I will make regular checks. The bonus was that the seller had other sets as well and there was another AFOL at the house buying some other sets. He was just coming out of his dark ages, so I gave him my contact info and of course told him about brickset! We may do some trading in the future.

  It's not actually Lego but we got our Lego table from Craigslist. It's an old department store display table with a three inch high wall around the outside. I can't tell you how much I love that table.

  I was able to pick up 35 lbs of assorted bulk legos for only $150!! I felt like that was a great deal.

  I have had some great luck on kijiji (the Canadian craigslist). I snagged 7931 for half the retail value ($40) it was a few weeks old and came with the box.
  Also nabbed some older space sets complete with instructions in a lot for $65. Including the rather rare 1968. Also there is a father selling his sons older sets for decent amounts I nabbed the Kings Castle complete with box for $80.00 and the pieces are in great shape. (I've bought a few more sets since).

  Just closed my first good Craigslist purchase this morning. Paid $500 for an adult-owned SW collection from 2000-2002, including original MF (w/ box), Republic Gunship (w/ unused sticker set), UCS X-wing (w/ unused sticker sheet and box), Jango's Slave 1, 7140 Slave 1, and a bunch of other mid-sized and small sets (Jedi Defense, Final Duel, etc.). Pretty nice haul...a big dusty, but otherwise in perfect condition with all minifigs.
