What's Special Here?

I am about 50/50 spotting things in pictures of bulk lots... but not this time.  This lot, if all holds, will sell for ~ $320.00 - for a 38 pound bulk tub.  There HAS to be something here that somebody REALLY wants... anyone see it?

Thanks for helping continue my Lego education!!

The UCS Tie Intercepter is in there. If complete, you might be able to fetch $190 for it. Are there instructions included?

Yeah, if complete and in good condition with instructions both sets are worth about $300 each. The problem is that without knowing if there are instructions, it is hard to know. Instructions for both sets will set you back $60-80 a piece.

Last picture, about the middle. It is the grey blob right above the UCS sticker.

Is that what that is??  Much to learn, I have!!  What about the X-Wing?  I see what I believe to be the wing cannons on the bottom and 2nd to last pics... is there more hiding in there I don't see?  Also, last pic - the big thing top-right...what is that?

I am wondering if they are intentionally turning over the UCS Intercepter because the clear front windscreen is missing? Also, maybe placing the most expensive parts on top to generate more bids.

@The_Iveys  Part of what you are seeing is the wing from the UCS X-Wing but the other assembly is part of set #7315.

Good call, @ChgoMatt - totally wasn't trying to hide anything... just saw it was up to a high price point and couldn't figure out "why"... all these folks above were nice enough to help me figure it out... trying to learn a little something new, know what I mean?

In picture  number four, looks like the front of the Interceptor cockpit is intact.

^No, that is the top hatch and the rear showing.

Right - the clear shield isn't visible.

And there is a MB submarine...

I personally would not buy the lot based on the unknowns. To tell you that he/she isn't going to go "box diving" speaks volumes to me. In every picture, the UCS Tie Intercepter is placed in a way that the front of the cockpit isn't visible. It is also on the top and flipping it over wouldn't take much effort. I think he's hiding something. Much of the cost of both the Intercepter and X-Wing resides in the specialized parts, stickers and instructions. The clear smoke cockpit cover on the Tie Intercepter will cost you $100 to replace if it is missing or damaged.

I wouldn't touch it. It isn't worth the risk for me.

@Pitfall69 - In the end, I agreed with you.  Though it is tempting to buy for the unknown (like those folks who buy the storage locker contents without getting to experience the whole locker first) and the thrill of discovery, the negative "what ifs" far outweighed the positive for me.  As much as I wish it weren't true, I'm not made of cash... LOL

Thanks again, one and all - very informative and enlightening conversation!!

Were the photos taken by the person who owned the lot? Or did someone else take the photo? I don't know how the site works, but if an employee at Goodwill took pictures of the lot, this isn't as much of a concern. I find it odd that the Power Miners box would be featured so prominently if the owner took the photos.
