3/4 of the way through a Death Star build.  Man does it take forever.

^^ Yeah.... still looking at that Death Star, only because of all the main characters in it. The Final Duel set looks interesting and of course the Ewok Village and Hoth set.

    Oh crap!

Starting the Fire Brigade as well. Pieces for my purple Market Street are still arriving... and I'm slowly laying down a few bricks on that. The only modular I don't "own" now is Grand Emporium, and I just don't know about that one.

I'm half done with FB....built GE before FB.  FB so far is the worst (most boring build) so far of all of the modulars.  GE was a much better build.  And its currently cheaper than FB....for how long, who knows.

@pricey73 Oh! Awesome Friends Death Star! ^_^

I've just built the Toy & Grocery Shop. I find it so cute, I've considered buying another one to make it more complete, but... nah, there are too many other sets that I want.

Yeaaaah... I hate how much I paid for FB, and it was the one I wanted the most for personal interest. Buying it outright for a silly stupid price feels so much more lame than buying it piecemeal for silly stupid per brick prices as I did for GG and MS and TH. I'm just not visually attracted to GE right now, so I keep putting off buying it, and the prices are creeping higher... so conflicted. So instead of worrying about any of that, last night I built a Jurassic World raptor set. <3 dinosaurs <3

Just finished building the Snowspeeder released las year; I don't really collect Star Wars, but last month I bought this and the AT-AT. They look nice, the problem is I don't have the space so I'd better start putting old sets in bags to free some space.

It's really an issue when there are so many nice sets to display and limited space (I'll have to decide to decide with my wife which sets to keep, but she would like to store most of them!)

I just finished my rebrick of the Train Shed #10027. Took a while to gather all the parts I didn't have on hand. I like it a lot, its a great old set.

2/3 the way through the UCS Tie Fighter, and I have to say that the use of the matte finish data/nameplate plates on the Tie's wings looks awful next to the glossy studded black plates on the rest of it. I might have to order 48 of the 4 x 6 plate with studs on 3 perimeter edges to replace them.

Currently building my May 4th purchase of #75053-1 The Ghost, was not really into the Rebels sets but watched all of season 1 and now I'm hooked and have to the sets. So far great build, really sturdy model and great minifigs. Lucky I already have The Phantom to join up as well, so the full crew is complete. Recommend the set highly.

Just finished a bricklinked version of #10210 Imperial Flagship after a chat with @Fauch . Cost was actually very reasonable after some substitutions: The 6x16 Reddish Brown Plate replaced with two 6x8, it does not hurt the integrity of the ship. For the Reddish Brown 2x2x11 support, I originally replaced them with Black, but looks nicer replacing each of them with 11 Reddish Brown 2x2 Round Brick. I also scrapped the Pirate Flag...
I pimped it with an extra 4 cannons and a couple of crew members :)

So now that I have been somewhat sucked into the modular theme, is GG considered the holy grail for modulars? Or is it MS or CC?

Definitely GG looks the nicest, interior is kind of lacking though. Luckily for me I still have no desire for MS, CC, or FB yet. However, starting to change my mind on TH and GE (crap i know, resellers likely grinning).

My ? is at this point, is bricklinking a GG even worth it? Just buy one used/sealed? I'm not that keen on making parts substitutions/color changes like I had to w 10179, but there simply was no choice w that set...

GG is the nicest, most exquisite of all the modulars in my humble opinion, and I must have one ;)

Just finished 'Haunted House' and it was such a fun build! Got 3 more to do, can't decide between Detective Agency, Kwik-E-Mart, or Pirates' Chess Set! Decisions, decisions!

It looks as though lots of great sets have been built in the last few days. Meanwhile, I just finished #75058 MTT and it has instantly taken a spot among the worst sets I own. It's an embarrassment beside #7662 Trade Federation MTT, which just happens to be one of my favourite sets.

The designer needs to take a look at himself :)

I'm on my third night of building #75059 Sandcrawler. It's a beast and really enjoyable. I made a few mistakes along the way but I quite like the challenge.

I built #75055 Star Destroyer last week, which it found pretty boring if I'm honest. I was building it and couldn't wait to finish. It looks good once finished but just boring to put together!

    @Legoboy How about building this?  ;)   http://www.legoland.dk/en/Explore/Starwars-x-wing-uk/

Just think, a single click and a few mins later, voila! I'd start with the triangle piece. There's no instructions anywhere for this one.

^Ah! To think that earlier today I was looking on bricklink, wondering if the Taj Mahal would be brinklinkable at a lower cost than the complete set. XD

Tonight I built the Trevi Fountain. It is so lovely! It's my first "Architecture" set, but probably not the last. I love everything about it, to the booklet and box. XD My only regret is that it's not bigger. Now I find myself fantasizing about a MOC version of it twice as big. XD I have neither the parts nor the talent to make it, but that would be awesome.

@Elune - That is a question I struggled with too.  I tried to talk myself out of this set: many AFOLs say it is a boring repetitive build.  I went the used route on ebay.  It was listed as incomplete, but I was lucky that it was really 99% all there, clean and undamaged bricks.  It wasn't cheap, but was 30% less than the going rate.

weird choice those yellow bits, why didn't they choose gold or something like that?

Back in 2008 LEGO didn't have as many Warm Gold pieces as they have today (understandably — the color had only been in sets for about three years). And there are some in that set that STILL don't exist in Warm Gold. I guess there wasn't room in the budget for the Taj Mahal set to recolor all those yellow pieces.

After a strong start on Saturday with my UCS Tie fighter (got the main body and the basic wings done without the struts), it has ended up gathering dust as we picked up a new house rabbit on Sunday (all white mini-lop with blue eyes).

After spending all week trying to slowly introduce the new rabbit to our 2 current ones (tricky to avoid fighting initially between 2 girls), I finally got a chance to finish one of the wings. That new method of securing is absolutely rock-steady with no sagging under the wing's not unsubstantial weight. I was very impressed with the method of fitment.

^Oooh I like the blue eyes, when you say mini do you mean a dwarf? We have an Netherland Dwarf that's all black aside from a white Batman-like emblem on his chest.

Have you built either the UCS Advanced or Interceptor? Was looking for some commentary on how the new TIE stacks up against those in terms of the build experience.

I've built a few things this week. #76032, #75046 and #75918. I thought I would be disappointed in the T-Rex Jurrasic World one but the vehicle is actually pretty cool. Same with the new Quinjet. The Coruscant police gunship is very cool and can't wait o find a display shelf for it. :)

Yes, she's a dwarf lop here in the UK, in the US she'd be a mini lop. Would post a pic off my phone but bluetooth pairing isn't working for me right now.

Haven't built the older UCS Ties, but the build for all variants will be full of repetition - it's a ball with 2 sticks to 2 wings. :) The method of wing attachment on the new UCS Tieis so tight and solid, it's the little things like that which make you smile as you build it.

Still working on a USMC Emblem/Seal (EGA) that I plan to sell when completed. It is on 4- 48x48 baseplates and measures in at 30"x30".  It is made out of all 1x1 plates including over 1,000 Pearl Gold 1x1s.

Built the excellent #3451 Sopwith Camel and noticed that the propeller driveshaft was exposed on the bottom. Couldn't resist strapping on power functions to make the propeller and wheels spin, which they do pretty well apart from the fact that the wheels need a much lower gear if they're to have any chance of moving the vehicle's bulk by themselves.

I finished the Tie Fighter, was surprised to find that the stand has a slight upward slant - took the stand to bits and rebuilt, but I can't find anything wrong.

Displayed up on a top shelf I can spin the stand 90 degrees and have it pointing slightly downwards for when i'm looking up at it.

    Just for your interest:-

Still working on USMC Emblem/Seal. It takes a long while to add 9,216 1x1 plates to baseplates lol. Also of those there is gonna be 1,019 Pearl Gold ones when done. Whew!
done. Whew!  The first pic shows what it will look like and the second shows how far I have done. Hopefully planning to sell when I complete. I just love making mosaics. :)
