Hey guys i am wondering who else only collects 'correct to minifig scale' sets of star wars, besides myself

If you are wondering, such sets includes the last x-wing, y-wing, tie fighter (9493, 9495,9492)

As well as my fav, the UCS Slave 1

You are welcome to provide picts

Are the conventional sets (non-ucs) sets actually to minifigure scale?

Hi @iannn29, I think the term needs to be clarified a bit. As I'm not fully sure the 9492-9495 sets are at true minifig scale as @sumolego asked also. I would consider them 'system scale' for those while others like the UCS Slave I, UCS Imperial Shuttle, UCS Falcon are truly minifig scale.

If it's a character dependent thing, like modulars, trains, star wars (which I don't really do), etc. then yeah, I'm all for minifg scale exclusively.  This is within reason, of course.

As for non-character things like Architecture and Technic, all bets are off, and the scale doesn't matter much to me as long as the model rocks.

I don't even want to think about what the Architecture theme would look like if all the models were to scale with each other! Something tells me the big Sydney Opera House and the Willis Tower are not in the same scale, hahaha.

For me, Minifigures are an integral part of my LEGO hobby, so if I can't display something with minifigures, then I generally have no interest in it. I may consider making an exception for the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier, because of its importance to the MCU, but I always MOC in minifig scale.

I actually got into the hobby through collecting minifigures, so yes I am very specifically tied into minifigure scale for buying sets. However when it comes to building things myself, scale isn't overly important. I do still tend to build minifigure scale but not always.

I'm not a fan of the term minifigure scale because minifigures don't scale accurately to human size so to my mind anything truely minifigure scale should be wider than the real life equivelant to match a minifigure.

also take stuff like the microfighters which are done on their own scale, but designed to fit a minifigure - surely this means they are minifigure scale chibi style vehicles. I know that no one would use the term minifigure scale in that way but it shows the flaw in the idea of minifigure scale.

i say all this as a minifigure fan who came out of dark ages as a result of collecting minifigures - personally I can't ever look at a LEGO model as truely minifigure scale.

@BrickDancer  I know that #9493 and #10212 certainly scale almost exactly with each other.

I consider minifgure scale to match the height of the minifigure, not worrying about the width disparity.
