My aunt worked for LEGO and I'm wondering what a white boba promotional box I was given is worth

I have one of these boxes in pretty good condition, I never removed the plastic surrounding the box but it's not sealed off in any way (the plastic was just a shell you can slide on or off). Apparently they were given to the best customers of the online shop at some point around 2010. I think she said there were 100 of them, but that may just have been in her location.

I think they would be worth a lot more if LEGO was not adding a White Boba Fett into the next SW character encyclopedia, but I would imagine the whole package is worth something still.

The average selling price of a new one on Bricklink is $68.18 over the last 6 months.

    okay, thanks!

^^ I think the $68.18 quoted above is for the white Boba itself. What you have, with the box and book would be worth much more than that. It doesn't look like there have been any on Bricklink lately.

I don't see the new white boba impacting the value of the old... And what you have there is worth more than $68 IMO!

    I'd give you $80!!  ;)

Hold up there folks, it's worth a decent bit more than $68. That's a package that was given out at the 2010 New York Toy Fair, and is indeed 1/100. The White Boba Fett would have actually been in a clear plastic baggie, which apparently your aunt opened. The sticker sheet still adds some value though. There's a few of these on eBay, although they're quite overpriced at $750. You should expect a decent bit less than that, but also more than just the typical going rate of a white boba fett at $68.

I've contacted you via PM @whiteboba12345 asking for more detail, just to confirm all of this. If you could provide a picture of your own, that'd be great.

As I said and Sam reiterated, it's worth more than mentioned above - for example above...

as as for overpriced? Well people will pay what they think they are worth, there is plenty that you could argue is overpriced on eBay  :p

That guy asks for the moon in all of his listings.  It's a pass if he's selling it.  And just b/c he's asking for more than 3k, doesn't mean he will get it.

Indeed that, along with most of his 'incased in plastic' stuff could fill the ridiculous ebay thread. Still worth a whole lot more than $68.

I had no knowledge of these things, but apparently there was a similar (but not quite the same) darth vader book given away by Argos? And then obviously the standard white boba polybag.

I don't think he will get over $3k either, I just added the other side of ridiculous.

    The other being $68

What are the links above mine, the don't show anything for me.
  • kempo81kempo81 Member Posts: 961
@SuperTramp they are links to currently available packages available on eBay. I copied the link from the ebay app on my iPhone, apologies if they are useless and don't work - never tried it that way before! Was just trying to highlight the fact the $68 was at the low end of ridiculous!

Thank you to everyone who corrected my mistake.  I didn't realize there was a difference... I wasn't trying to get it for $68 or anything.  Hopefully he doesn't get taken on Fleabay...there's no guarantee he'll get anywhere near what it's actually "worth" if he does it as an auction.

@whiteboba12345 - have you listed it on Ebay yet?
  • samiam391samiam391 Member Posts: 4,487
    ^Not a problem, common mistake.

His best bet is eBay, I've advised him on a few ways via PM that he can attempt to maximize his profits.
