heinz is a USA company, you still eat the beans.grow up you knew he meant collectibles collectables does it matter.
If you care to actually read the posts, you'll see that an American was asking to change the spelling (in the brickset database) from the British spelling "collectables" to the American spelling "collectibles".
Sure, if an American uses "collectibles", I know he means "collectables" in my language. But that has to go both ways, it is the British spelling in the database, and Americans have to deal with it. You should know that "collectables" in (British) English means "collectibles" in American English.
Here are the relevant posts for you ...
Funny enough, I totally can still read it, but it won't win any job interviews. Also, who'd have thunk Heinz beans were so popular in the UK but not in the US?
Wait, did Pitfall start this?
But in the case of #60083 Snowplow Truck, the database lists it as Snowplough Truck. As best I can tell, LEGO uses "snowplow" on the UK sites, and the UK box doesn't use "snowplough" anywhere. In such cases, I think accuracy should trump regional spelling.
I was hoping that the tags feature would render a lot of the spelling issues redundant. If alternative spellings were allowed, then searches are easy and it does not matter which version of English is being used.
Thats old age for you.
I still prefer CMF to all the above though.
And who is complaining about 1966 being still talked about (presumably referring the English World Cup victory)? Not the English members.
I'll be very interested to see the new UCS Hoth set, assuming that it exists. Unless it's £300+ I can't see it being that impressive. I have a horrible suspicion that it will contain 15-20 minifigures and be of a similar style to 7879, but around 2,000 parts. Time will tell, and I really hope that I'm wrong!

Sorry...poor taste!
I started reminiscing when I saw the prices were below $3/each and it brought a tear to my eye. Unfortunately a TRU employee was nearby and promptly marked the price back up over retail just to make me quit crying.

#10234 - Sydney Opera House
#10236 - Ewok Village
#10214 - Tower Bridge
#10240 - Red Five X-Wing Starfighter
#10237 - Tower of Orthanc
#10218 - Pet Shop
#10220 - VW Camper Van
#71006 - The Simpsons House (expected ship date of September 1st)
If I was guessing, I would say that seven of the eight sets listed above (including Simpsons House) will be gone by year's end and at least five will be gone by summer's end.
"At the risk of getting a virtual head-butt, TRU (at least our local shop) has Series 13 CMFs on sale for 2/$5...most likely to clearance them to make room for the next round of The Simpsons CMFs. Series 13 CMFs are now EOL'd at S@H (which is why I am posting this here). "
But isn't it a bit early for that to be going on already? It's still at least 3 weeks b4 they show up around here.
I mean I know the Pet shop, VW Van, Tower Bridge are long in tooth, but is there something that appears on S@H (besides that silly 'retiring soon' tag) that is showing you these are going to be gone soon?
I can't image the SOH, or TB are selling that great based on their price and availability. With the recent or near-term releases of the UCS Slave 1 and UCS Tie Fighter sets, there are just too many UCS (or large SW Sets) available in general. Plus Red Five has hit the magic time period when UCS sets usually go. TLG is drawing down its Hobbit and LotR theme, and in fact the ToO is the last remaining LotR set available. Pet shop will likely go by October when TLG gets prepares to launch the next modular. The VW Camper is an interesting set and more of a question mark. I can see it being an AFOL favorite, but it's also been out a LONG time. I would say the EV is probably the least likely of the list above to go this year.
These would all be on my near-term purchase list if I was worried about having to pay the exorbitant aftermarket prices.
Pet shop may or may not go if the rumor about LEGO selling them for a year exclusively before EOL has any truth to it.
Simpsons house I see going as well by end of year at latest. I just do not see LEGO selling both the House and Kiwk E mart at the same time (also means you will have those who will desperately want a Simpsons house if they get the Kiwk e mart). I believe Ewok Village will be around until this Hoth playset that is on its way apparently. Tower of Orthanc is likely gone soon due to loTR being done. Red 5 being gone would be a but of surprise as well as didn't it just come out? And seeing it constantly on back order tells me it is a good seller.
