Just finished the Speed Champions 911's. 4 down, 2 to go.
  • VorpalRyuVorpalRyu Member Posts: 2,318
Just built #75075 with my little boy & once he's done his homework, we'll be building #75074. Think the AT-AT might be just as fun as the MF to build.

I am building the Kingdoms Joust. I hadn't realized how big it was when I bought it. XD I love it.

A great set. One you don't realize how big and fun it is until you crack it open

I have one built and a couple sealed. Has anyone built 2 of the Joust set like displayed on the box? Is it a big improvement on an already cool set? Just wondering if it is worth doing. Thanks.
  • piratemania7piratemania7 Member Posts: 2,146
@Renny I have 4; two built and two sealed. The two built is by far the right thing to do with this set. It's meant to be this way and really makes it complete.

@piratemania7 Aww, and I had JUST convinced myself that I did not need another Joust. XD

    Isn't the Joust discontinued now?
  • EluneElune Member Posts: 99
@Sethro3 Yeah, which is a bummer, because that means I would have to buy it on Bricklink or elsewhere from resellers and that's gonna be more expensive. Meh, I'll get the other sets I really want before they retire as well, and see later if I still want another one.

I had considered buying the Joust multiple times, but then I ended up getting other sets first. I did love Kingdoms and that did seem like a nice goodbye to the theme, but I couldn't justify it for some reason.

I've considered just bricklinking it sometime for funsies... Good luck!

Depends on how you wish to display it.  On a shelf, against the wall, one Joust set is good enough IMO.

Just finished The Lonely Mountain.  Very nice, detailed build.  A lot of sand green and pearl gold elements that make the final product kind of pretty.  Smaug was a little smaller than I expected after reading all the online reviews.  But he fits perfectly with the rest of the set.  He's very posable which sets him apart from other Lego dragons.

Help, I would like to post some pix here, but I can find no way to upload them to the forum threads. I have no icons showing up in the 'Leave a Comment' header that address image uploads. I have tried every other means I know, with no success.
  • xpokxpok Member Posts: 31
I simply drag photos from file explorer to comment window.
  • oldtodd33oldtodd33 Member Posts: 2,728
@MBwannaB  It is in the middle above the comment box if you are on a desk top and looks like a page or if you are on a mobile it's on the left next to the smiley icon. Or if you mean there are no icons above the comment box , try what xpok said.

This weekend, I completed the Double Decker Couch kit with my granddaughter. We spent most of the day Saturday on it. Why did it take so long? Because we had a little 'play' time along the way. As we built, I set up a series of scenes and photographed them with my cel phone camera, creating a story depicting the included min-figs as if they were building the project themselves. I moved all of the photos to a Word file and added call-outs to present character dialogue. If any of you would like to see this, e-mail me and I will send the file. Until I can figure out how to post pix here, this is how I must roll.

My Hulkbuster MOC is now pretty much done. I originally wanted it to look like the Kotobukiya models of the Hulk and Hulkbuster but it's much larger than the Hulk.

Now that I've owned the Hulk bigfig I can say I don't like is the limitation of the head and legs it really hurts people who want to use them for photography and animations. I also don't like that we got two Hulk's in this wave with the same expressions. I think posing the Hulkbuster with the Hulk just doesn't work. I can see that many people tried to but you look most of them and it still looks odd. The big fig concept that would never work well on photographs.

So my final model will be just the Hulkbuster in similar context of the Kotobukiya model. It should be uploaded after Avengers: Age of Ultron is released in the UK, Stay tuned!

Trying to help my son re-build his #60047 Police Station. He's been using parts of it to make other things for the past several months, so the pieces are all over the house. Ugh.

Still catching up slowly with my dark ages, I am almost finished with my bricklinked version of #10196 Grand Carousel (just missing a few tiles).

In terms of color, the substitutions made for a cost effective project was the large base plate in LBG instead of Green and the visible Dark Red pieces (mainly inverted slopes in the center) was changed to Dark Purple.

There is no music brick and while I usually don't apply stickers, I did this time (non original, replacement stickers) to stir back the finish product toward the original despite the different colors..
The cloth pieces from the Canopy are my own from a template given in another thread and some fabric from Jo-Ann.

Overall I am very pleased with the result vs cost.

^ That looks awesome. With the colour variations you've made, the great thing is, if you find one later at a price you can accept at that time, you could set it down right next to your current Carousel, making for the start of a great amusement park.

I recently picked up several of the Atlantis sets on ebay and have been building them.  I've only gotten through the open ones so far but hope to get to some of the sealed ones this weekend.  Will post pictures as soon as I can.

Waiting for my pick-a-brick shipment to arrive then I'm gonna build my first stretch of road on a 48x48 baseplate. Just didn't think that premade road pieces were right for me. As of now though Im preparing for it by re building sets 60047, 31010, and 31012 all with my own additions. Though I've been saving so I have a lot to choose from hahaha.

Finished #10244 Fairground-Mixer.  I was on the fence about it until we learned that a Ferris Wheel is in the works.  Oh no, another theme to collect.  The Mixer is a different type of build from my usual fare and was enjoyable.  I took the #8883 motor from my Emerald Night to power it.  Don't spend the money if you don't have one lying around to try.  It was really noisy and slower than the hand crank.  The hand crank really gets it whirling around.

Awaiting final bricklinked packages for 10179 and 10221 to arrive; cannot wait to build :)

Would never have even attempted these had it not been for so many others before, some of whom have posted detailed step by step instructions for those of us who are rather slow witted ;)

Those of us who missed the party early are paying dearly now, but this story has been heard and repeated millions of times.

Just happy to get back in now, because it will surely get worse :)

I finally have cleared some room in the new flat and bf has suggested that I build a model or two to put out (he has banished Lego to the second bedroom, but I'm not fussed).  So I am re-building the Parisian Restaurant and am enjoying it as much as the first time 'round!

Crap, I cannot believe I am starting to fall in love with the modular series...green grocer is beautiful (interior is lacking tho) along w PR, PS, PC, and DO. The custom mocs on eBay ie tan house, cocoa hotel, and white mansion look beautiful as well...

Not gonna lie, i find CC, MS, TH, GE, FB etc ugly or simply not aesthetically pleasing; simply put, not down (Blasphemy I know, but everyone has their own opinion :)

Either way, I will be broke for months/years to come :)

Also debating lonely mountain, if for nothing else to put Smaug near my ToO lol, chomping away on gandalf haha. However I'm not keen on dropping that kind of $$ for smaug despite the sand green bricks ;)

Speaking of sand green, is bricklinking HH or the MOC Ghostbusters station worth it?! Or unreasonable due to cost?

Perhaps i was a little too harsh on CC, but it doesnt really do much for me for the price. At best I would bricklink/substitute cheapest possible if i was inclined to, which i am not at the current time.

Although,I felt the same way about the ucs b and x wings, but am starting to turn the corner on these, crap lol

I finished my homework, so I built #21006 Architecture White House.  I was dismayed to find that one of the white light sabers that it uses for the columns came bent; I'll try customer service to see if I can get a replacement.

I love chess so this set was a natural fit.  Tempted to pick up some of the older castle versions.

Built #21013 Architecture Big Ben and #70754 Ninjago ElectroMech last night.  I was pleasantly surprised at the action feature on the mech to have his sword wings pop up.

@VorpalRyu Trust me, it's waaaay better to have a wife that likes Lego than one that doesn't. My wife hates Lego and she's not afraid to let me know that. :)

@chuckp, she was fine with me spending cash on Lego, including the exclusives, the only condition; I wasn't going to just leave them boxed up, else what is the point in having them (which I agree with). The issue is now she want Lego, now I have to track down a SDCC Micro-Scale Bag End & some of the retired Modulars... She's also collecting the Elves sets... MY POOR WALLET!!! :'( :'( :'(

Last night I finished #71016 Kwik-E-Mart. It took 12 hours, the care and patience to apply over 40 stickers took up a good chunk of the time. Review coming later this week.

Finished #42039 24 Hour Race Car, enjoyable medium size Technic build with several new Technic parts, thought (and wished) it would be a bit bigger compared to #42000 Grand Prix Racer but very nice to have a Le Mans type of car.

Finally built my #21108 Ghostbusters ECTO-1 last night.  I guess I was one of the lucky ones as I didn't have any issues with the pages falling out of the instruction manual.

Should I build my Winter Village Market now (I'm on holiday) and tear it down in 3 weeks when I have to bring it home? Such a dilemma. I also have a Tower Bridge but that might be a worse idea.
