But that would be a lie. As we all know, his favourite smell is pony.

@ Pitfall69 - sounds just like the kind of random subject switch you find on The One Show here in the UK. Only they'd be asking someone like Dame Helen Mirren what her favourite smell was, then would try to find a tenuous link to her latest project.

I seem to recall someone else posting a similar story here, but the extra set wasn't of that value.

If you let them know, I'd be interested in whether or not they give you anything (e.g. VIP points).
  • Thanos75Thanos75 Member Posts: 1,120
I had that happen several times. When I opened the box I was like " Chima speedors.....score!! "

Forget that, when one gets something valued over £100 whose going to complain? I would keep it before they ask to return it! :)

If you lost your wallet with £101 in it, would you not want it back?

I was being ethical, not clever. If you don't know the difference, then it is a worry. Is it wrong to take something that isn't yours, whether it be money or product?

Oh boy, here we go ;) From past experience in this forum, it is abundantly clear that people have different definitions of ethical.

That's a moral dilemma. On the one hand, I would think it's highly unlikely they would even realize one small mistake in the sea of orders they must have everyday, and why not just be grateful for this error in your favor? But on the other hand, it would feel like stealing from a company to which you are a loyal customer. It's a hard call and I'm not sure if I could do the right thing if I were in this position.
  • JenniJenni Member Posts: 1,390
@scarecrow2400 I had that happen a couple‌ of years ago. It was a Battle of Naboo set. Not wanting to deal with posting stuff I attempted to return it to my local LEGO store but the manager said there was nothing he could do with it and to keep it.

It would probably be more trouble to S@H to do anything about their mistake than to let their dear client keep it. It would also mean trouble to their client (they would have to go to the post office to return it), and they wouldn't want that either. At least that's my opinion. One set, be it the DS, isn't much of a loss to them. Quite the contrary: it's advertisement. :p

    Anyway, my status today:
I finally had "the dream". XD Yup, for some reason I dreamed I had received some Lego Pirates sets, or at least the one with the skull-cave.

After finishing my MOC of the elven world of LOTR I finally entered the realm of the Modulars. The Pet Shop and Cinema have been ordered. Pet shop is out of stock so hope it does not get cancelled, but like Andor said, 'power of positive thinking'.

    I am very very excited!

Outstanding Lego week.  I co-worker brought in a nice sized box of bricks and 3 Lego brand cases of bricks from sets that belonged to her grandchild. There were three Star Wars 9493, 9494 and 7915 and the Hogwarts Castle 4842. No boxes but organized in baggies with all instruction books. I inventoried and they are complete, excellent to perfect condition with all minifigures. I asked how much and she told me to decide and to just get a walmart gift card. Offered here $150.00 and felt guilty at that but she thought it was too much and I insisted on at least $100.00. Done deal.

Also, tomorrow is a big lego day. The Simpsons House(s@h)is scheduled to be delivered plus heading down to the Lego Store for the first time.  On the list is the Detective Office and Cargo Train and the VW Camper. I called and they had them in the store so hopefully they will be in stock, otherwise s@h.

  • DAVEmoonDAVEmoon Member Posts: 44
Missing polybags in two orders, a damaged palace cinema in previous order, and then charged twice for same item on march 3rd, sent 3 emails and didn't receive a reply.
    I think i deserved 500 points

I failed myself yesterday and bought some Mega Bloks for the first time in years. Disappointed by the building process but not sure what I was expecting. With or without it I had more enjoyment out of that than buying the new rain coat I need. From now on I stick to Lego.

Had a good week - my boyfriend and I finally built the #6753-1 we scored for £24.99 in a charity shop before Christmas. First really big set I've built in years, and my first Creator if I'm not mistaken. We also finally separated out all the BestLock and MegaBloks from a large shopping bag-full we got from another charity shop a while back. Found lots of Agents pieces, a ship's mast, and a lot of troll and dwarf figures from the very fantasy-oriented Castle era...

Finished building the Dectivies Office last night and I couldn't believe the amount of detail that went into it! Got the Cinema to start this weekend and I have a feeling the Pet Shop will be getting ordered too.
I think that'll be it for my lego spending for a while, saving for a new house so can't go too mad this year!

Helm's Deep underway @KevBrickstruct's design.  It is huge and a very pleasant build.  One hint for those planning this build, so far I have been able to replace the Light Bluish Gray 1 x 8 bricks with 1 x 4s.  Also the 2 x 2 corners in Sand Green with Dark Bluish Gray.  Anything yellow, blue, red and black isn't seen, so using scuffed bricks or different colors is fine.  Following Kevin's color scheme does help following the instructions, which are (as usual) excellent and clear.

@klatu003, that's awesome. Can't wait to see how it will look when all three parts are connected and armies of mini figures are put in (I collected around 200 Uruk Hai just waiting to attack!)

@klatu003 - I'm following your progress on it very closely!

@Renny- I've started looking at Uruk prices on BL.
  • RennyRenny Member Posts: 1,145
There used to be a lot of them on BL but inventory has gone down the past six months. Someone just bought 620 of the poly bag this month though! I'm sure there are still Sellers out there waiting to put up their stock.
  • samiam391samiam391 Member Posts: 4,506
@Renny - Unfortunately... I missed out on the "super cheap" Uruk army prices. I'll have to pay out a bit more now. I used to have close to 40, but sold most of them off before I heard about Kevin's project.

Ended up coming home from the Lego Store with a UCS Tumbler. It was just too pretty sitting there in the display window.

Nice, I have to run and grab my boxes before the wife sees me. Some of the time she sees the boxes sitting there on the front porch before I can get to them. That is why I have a Rolodex of excuses already prepared just in case she catches me ;)

First trip to the Lego store today and had a great time. Left with the Detective's Office and City Cargo Train. Plus a box of tracks and a container of 2x2 tiles and other assorted plates. Then my very kind soon to be spouse bought me the City Demolition Set. He knew I wanted it so he just picked it off the shelf, asked for my VIP card and bought the set.

When we arrived home the Simpsons Set was delivered. I will now be in Lego paradise for at least a month.

@Briking I can sympathise with that. I recently had a Pick a Brick order that Yodel managed to keep sending back and forth between depots
