In 300 days (plus time on cuusoo) you have less than 500 votes, so you need more than 9500 votes in 60 days. The chances are not good.

PS there is already an ideas submission thread to keep all the "please vote for this project" requests in one place.

Here is my first project on Lego ideas: Rabbit Hole

In a small hole under a tree, there lives a little rabbit. It's a great little spot next to a field of carrots. At night when the rabbit sleeps, a frog croaks happily in the pond, surrounded by pretty flowers. It is the most beautiful place in Legoland.

Hope you like it, here is the Lego project page

I tried posting this in another spot and I don't think my thread ever got approved yet. I have a lego obsessed 4 year old boy who is also just as obsessed with Magic School Bus. Is there any way possible to make these mini figs happen? I really would just love to see this set get made but given the time left and the number of votes I don't see it happening.

Very sad news today of Sir Terry Pratchett passing away.
He made an immense impression in the fantasy genre, and one great way to celebrate his life and work would be for TLG to make GlenBricker's Discworld. As it stands (https://ideas.lego.com/projects/36302) it's not going to even start to enter the review process until June.
Is there any way we can encourage TLG to bring forward the review, and consider making this fitting tribute to Terry?
  • bricktuarybricktuary Member Posts: 987
I hope they do. Dreadfully sad news and I'm feeling very emotional right now. His books have been with me for 20 years at least, probably 25 actually.

    Not a good day today.
  • monkey_roomonkey_roo Member Posts: 1,411
That would be a nice gesture. Like many people I feel there is a little less magic in the world tonight, Sir Terry Pratchett was one of the greatest literary artists of his generation with one of the sharpest minds to match. He and his stories will be greatly missed.

it would be nice if Lego considered this offering outside of the review period.

With respect it would be a terrible idea, and a terrible precident to set. Imagine when the next 'famous' person dies, and the person after that. Or someone who has an actual ideas submission dies tragically young - should Lego change the rules then or is that person somehow less worthy.

If people want to vote to get a set to review then fine but no need to do something special now and then get tied up in knots over and over again.

Apologies if that sounds cold, he's died it's sad for those that knew him and were touched by him.

If you want to make a fitting tribute to Sir Terry, instead of spending £40 on a Discworld set consider donating to the charity site linked to on this page from the BBC discussing his death instead to research Alzheimers: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-31858156

The following are a few interesting projects I have come across on Lego Ideas, I have no involvement with these projects bar clicking support, but I think these are worth a look:

https://ideas.lego.com/projects/95384 - History of Electricity by bigboy99899, a set of vignettes featuring Benjamin Franklin, Luigi Galvani, Thomas Edison, Nicola Tesla & Alessandro Volta.

https://ideas.lego.com/projects/89554 - Arachno Suit by flavio D, a small four legged mech that would be a good companion to the Exo-Suit.

    https://ideas.lego.com/projects/68488 - Space Observatory by tjspencer1.

https://ideas.lego.com/projects/91610 - LL 920 Spacehopper by NeoMMD76, one of four classic space stylised sets NeoMMD76 has submitted.

Too American focussed for me. No William Gilbert, no Michael Faraday, no Alessandro Volta.

An arachno with FOUR legs? I cannot vote for that.

^ Yes, I can see Galvani. Volta is not there though, you check it again.

^its the latest update, he has added Volta to the set, bringing it up to 5 vignettes.

I see, hidden away in the updates.

    Still too American though.

Missing out Faraday and electromagnetism and hence the development of the electric motor seems silly.

The tree with the woodpecker is just plain horrible. It won't surprise me if it gets to 10000 again. But would lego make another one in the ideas line, given that they can now make their own follow-ups without involving (paying) the original designer?

They are cool but not as the first three, I think the LEGO designers would make them much better if it passes the review. Your right would a second project even get close to 10,000 considering that I see no interest in the set every time I go to the LEGO store and that the first one took more than a year to get to 10,000 goal.

The Lego birds are probably my favourite ideas set, along with ecto-1, but even I don't want another. That said, if his were what I saw at Brick then there were plenty of amazing creations there.
  • CCCCCC Member Posts: 20,556
Some of them are amazing. But also I don't think they'd sell too well beyond the first set.

I really hope he makes his own instructions and sells them / makes them freely available.
  • ShibShib Member Posts: 5,477
I'd be more inclined to look at a second set (or full theme) if it were either individual birds or a themed set, e.g Birds of Prey, coastal birds, tropical birds etc. I havent yet picked up the set because in all honesty the robin is the main one that I want, the other two are nice enough, but not ones that I really like.

Well, I'm in for more Lego Birds, any day. Yes, I'd prefer them to be sold either individually or in a themed set (and I'd love just to be able to buy the instructions), but however they came out I'd buy them. I did also enjoy the Hub Birds set (which I bricklinked for myself and built copying a speed build on YouTube) but I much prefer DeTomaso's techniques and level of detail.

£1500? I think it might just be a bit too big for Ideas?
But big Ideas are needed for LOTR. :)

As I child I always loved farm vehicles from Britains and have always thought that Lego should make a few more farm vehicles.
It is 6 years since the last Farm subtheme, so it might be time for TLG to produce some new ones as a subtheme of the City theme?
Although they were still available just 3 years ago, so if it is not time, then here is an Idea that would be a good stand alone set.

My first project has just gone live. The idea is Disney characters reimagined as a 2x4 Bricks. I've launched the project with my first four characters and I think this would be enough for a set, but I've plans for several more 'series', so will update the project with them as they are finished.

    THE SET
This project features the scene from the TV show: Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. It includes a small SHIELD base, two vehicles, and nine minifigs. The very first idea that comes into my mind is to add as much playability as possible and, at the same time, to avoid making the project too large in size. So, I tried my best to minimize the piece count, and now what we have here is a set with 807 pieces and plenty of playability:-)

    THE S.H.I.E.L.D. BASE
The base has 273 pieces of bricks. We have a SHIELD logo and some computer screens in the centre, featuring the main entrance of the base. There is a gym on the left, where the agents can do physical training. And the small lab on the right is the place for research and medical care. At the back of the base, there is a garage where you can park two vehicles.

    THE VEHICLES
Lola is probably the coolest car ever appeared in the TV show. I used 185 bricks, mainly in red, to create it. It can fit one minifig and, surely, can switch to "flight mode", just as it does in the TV show.
The black 4x4 (308 pieces) is my favorite part of this set, not only because its strong and aggressive look, but also because the details inside the car. It can fit four minifigs, and it has a small control room with radar screens. There is also some room for weapon storage inside the black SUV.

    THE MINIFIGS
This project includes nine minifigs, all of whom are the main characters in the TV show: Coulson, Skye, May, Trip, Simmons, Bobbi, Fitz, Hunter and Mack. They all have some accessories based on their personal specialties, such as pistols and lab tools.

Thank you all for viewing! And finally, please be sure to check my other projects, which also features the scene from the Marvel universe:
    Red Skull's Flying-Wing Chase: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/85922
    Hydra Jet Escape: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/98141

Please support the project on LEGO IDEAS to make it a real set! Thanks a million!
