So in the Darkseid's invasion set I got from Amazon Warehouse Deals was complete except that Hawkman's wings were missing. Does anyone know if TLG would replace these? There are currently none of the open wings for sale at Bricklink (in USA).

Try TLG Customer Services or the replacement parts site.

Found 3 box Lego#21116 Minecraft Crafting Box at local Wal-Mart for $20/box. I think it's a price mistake because other store still at $49.97 and a few days ago found a damaged box of Lego#60004 Fire Station for $40 (everything complete just got a hole in the box, plastic bags still unopened) at local Wal-Mart too.

I just got lucky like you did. I saw that they had the Arctic Base for $35 on the Walmart app. Placed an online order for pickup. Half expected it to be canceled. Went to store for pickup and caught the red tag lady in action at the clearance table. She said she was ready to get this stuff out of the way.
  • OdinduskOdindusk Member Posts: 763
    Love the red tag ladies.
  • RonyarRonyar Member Posts: 373
@mathew what part of the U.S. did you find the arctic base for $35? That's great!
  • mathewmathew Member Posts: 2,099
St. Louis Missouri area. And they were $17.50 after the red tag lady got ahold of them.

If you have an iPhone the Walmart app will show you clearance prices and stock. It's actually fairly accurate from my experience. Just don't call the store. I did that yesterday and was told that it was not a stocked item.
  • RonyarRonyar Member Posts: 373
^high ridge? I always wonder how prices at one store can be so much lower than anything around it, and if someone actually got sets at that price, or if they marked them down after they were all sold. At least in your case I have an answer. Good for you!!!

Yeah, High Ridge.  I just happened to work till noon today so I went ahead and drove down there.  I seriously doubt much is left.  Other customers were descending like vultures when they over heard me talking to the red tag lady.  It would be nice if all Walmarts worked this way.  The store by my house only discounts crap that nobody wants.  And it's typically the .03 cent discount.

Just picked up a new sealed #60052 Cargo Train for $80 at a local flea market.  I love it when idiots don't realize what they have and just want to make a sale.

^^  I wouldn't necessarily call them idiots.  I'm sure they made a profit.  Hell, could of been stolen and wanted to dump it quickly.

I went to a couple Wal-Marts and a Target today and had to share my good fortune.

    Target
    60060: Auto Transporter $20.98
    70164: Hurricane Heist $34.98

    Wal-Mart
    70012: Razar's CHI Raider $11.00
    42030: Volvo L350F Wheel Loader $184.00

The box for 42030 is beat up pretty bad but it's still sealed! I couldn't say no to the price. And when I scanned the price for 70012, I was shocked!

    Cheers from Claremore, OK!

M-I-L called and said she was at Kroger and there were some Elves sets in the Manager's Special bin. So I now have 3 #41072 Naida's Spa Secrets for $7.99 each. So weird, haven't even been out a month yet. Probably shipped to this store by mistake so they just made some sale tags and dumped them.

Hey all, I'm new to the site in the last week. Loved reading some of your great finds. For my first attempt at finding things at a good deal I found two 70146 at $40 bucks each. Had to get them both and my step-son was in awe when I opened the trunk when I got home.

@thehornedrat was this UK? I now recall seeing some similar belville sets in a discount store maybe a year or so ago, as you say 7 years after they were released.

So is there a way to view clearance items through the Walmart app on iPhone to a specific store or can you only browse that stores lego selection and hope that a lower price is listed? From what I've seen searching some of my local stores I seem to only see lego listed at full price. Any guidance would be appreciated!

Here's what I do: use the Walmart app on iPhone and search for a set I'm interested in (and have heard people find on clearance in stores).  On the Item Details page for that item, click the "Store Availability" arrow to get a list of nearby stores which have the item in stock.  It should also show you the price for each store.  It can vary.  Click the 'Place Order & Pick Up Today" button and proceed with buying the item.  You'll then get notification when the item is ready for you to pick up in that store.  It should have charged you the price listed in the mobile app for that specific store.  As if you went into the store and bought it at their clearance price.

Now, what I have experienced multiple times is that the item you ordered may not actually be in stock, or they can't find it (some rat may have hidden it in the towels section).  They will then either cancel the order, or provide you with a "substitute".  You don't know what the substitute is until you get there.  Sometimes it's a good substitute, and sometimes not.

Today for example (my brag for this thread), I went to pickup a $35 Milano Spaceship (#76021, MSRP $75) that I ordered through the mobile app.  They had a Hulk Lab Smash (#76018, MSRP $50) waiting for me.  I mentioned that wasn't what I ordered and they let me go check the shelves for the Milano.  None were found, but they had the Quinjet City Chase (#76032, MSRP $80).  They let me use that as a substitute with Manager approval/override.

Thank you for the in depth information and congrats on what you got. And of course individual results will vary. I don't have an iPhone but am using the Walmart app on my iPad so I am guessing it's the same version. I just wanted to make sure I was doing it right. I wish there was something I could check to confirm, haha. Also it looks like a store is automatically set for me based off of my location when I go into the app. So I just searched for #76021 and was shown a $69.97 price. I tapped on it and it said it was out of stock in my default store. So from there I can just tap the nearby option and select stores from there and it should show me the in store price if in stock at another one, right?

Found two hot dog guys at Kmart for $3.99. This brag isn't about the price, but the mere fact that I beat @pharmjod to them for the first time. ;)

Most recent brags were just sets that rang up lower than expected. The Ninjago Mechdragon was marked for $64 in the clearance at a Wal-Mart. The sign said 50% off clearance prices in that section. I scanned it to make sure it would truly be half off and it rang up at $21. I'll take it, even though I have no use for most of the pieces.

Another Wal-Mart had something similar happen. Two different visits. First, they had a lone B-Wing sitting in the clearance section. Rang up at $20 (MSRP $50). The three figures alone usually go for more than that on eBay. Second visit, Spinlyn's Cavern was tagged as $20 (half off), but rang up at $11. Again, I don't particularly need it, but at that price for 400 pieces I was okay with it.

Similar thing happened with some of the new Bionicles (not all but some sets).
Within a few months, they were already on 15%/30% clearance at Target.

After hawking the set for several months I finally bought a used #10029 Lunar Lander for $140. Great deal considering the extra 50-80 bucks I would have had to shell out on Bricklink

Grabbed #60023 for $17.00 & #60017 for $15 at a Big W across town (makes for one happy not quite six year old), then found a #9461 on clearance for $7.00 at the TRU just down the road from there, looks like I won't need to grab the Swamp Creature off eBay for our Halloween decos after all.

My son found this #3804 Lego Mindstorms Robotics Invention System V2.0 in a charity shop in Bristol where he is at uni, it was on sale and he paid £15.
On first inspection it seems complete and the only things missing so far are the plastic liner tray from the box & the software CD rom, all the motors, sensors & RCX brick are there.

Just finished going through the set inventory and it is missing a total of 23 minor little pieces not including the inner box tray & CD rom.
It will probably cost me more in postage replacing the parts from Bricklink that the total cost of the missing bits

@GentlyBenevolent If I need a part or a few that costs nothing I usually try to find a store with some figures or maybe sets that I want to make shipping worth it.

I scored 5 Heartlake Juice Bars for $14.98 (50% off) at Target this morning. I had to use the Fyndly app and ask an associate to check the back for me, but sure enough they had them!

I don't even know where to begin on what all we found today. Tons of older sets from Prince of Persia, Atlantis, Pharaoh's Quest, World Racers, Toy Story, Cars, Racers, Space Police, Castle and 3 Palace Cinemas. We didn't pick up much, most of what we found isn't in our realm of liking (or we already had) but I did get #7592 and #8677. :)

This past weekend I found a #1796 bucket in a charity shop half full of bricks for £2.  Not the same bricks from that set, and the bucket was missing it's lid, but they were all genuine Lego and also there was no random bits in it aside from two brand new crayons.  Also found the City Alarm game #3865 for £1, complete and in good condition.  All in all about 700 parts for £3 - nothing particularly special but I was pretty excited to find good Lego in a charity shop!

I was at Target and caught a glimpse of the Simpson's House at customer service. I asked if it was for sale and they told me that it was marked down to $140 because it's typically only sold online. I snatched it up for $144 after tax after the red card discount. I was stoked!
