Love the giant bricks in the Ant-Man set, that was a stroke of genius - really elevates a set that otherwise I'd be getting just for the minifigures into something I'm genuinely looking forward to for the whole.

That's exactly what I said, dunno why no one took notice of my comment.

I totally lucked out today, and found this sucker at Walmart (along with the smallest set):

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BulkyfiRLa4

Only number on the receipt was the UPC (673419231947) before anyone asks. It didn't ring up at first, so I had to go to CS where it rang up for $80.

This guy is great. Not sure I'd want to stump up £30 for the juniors set though.

Damn that's a cool minifigure. I can see why they put this version in the Juniors set, very bright coloured and comic book looking.

No surprise at all, with the new headgear piece. Very nice.

Yeah, the Baby Batman set wasn't so bad as you got Batman, Robin and the Joker. This one, maybe not so good.
  • andheandhe Member Posts: 4,002
^Yeah the generic policeman is a bit of a disappointing inclusion. Especially odd as it's a yellow rather than licensed fleshie. But maybe understandable for the junior range.

Found every set except the Hydra Fortress at a TRU in the Philly suburbs.
The couple in their mid-30's was confused as to why the 20something was so excited.

Can these be ordered from anywhere? I'm dying to get my hands on the Hulkbuster!

check out a TRU near you. I just got all the AoU sets at mine

Glad the Winter Soldier polybag was included for Australia VIP orders of the Helicarrier, but annoyed that the Electro polybag is a US TRU only exclusive at this point... Was annoyed when they did this with the Rocket Raccoon polybag. As a massive Marvel fan that lives outside of the US, location based exclusives really do suck, with Comic-Con exclusives being at the top of my list (so far I've only managed to get a Jean Grey & the Collector)...

As for that Juniors set with Gobby, will have to get one for the kids & either buy a second for me, or hunt down a loose mini-fig of him for my collection...

Has it been established where the Hydra Fortress is exclusive to in the US?

Any ideas why the AoU sets haven't been listed on the S@H site yet?  Other sets that have a March 1st release date are listed already, but not for these.

Looks like the UK price for the Quinjet is £70 after all. Still a good price for what seems to be the best set of the wave. Vision, Black Widow and Cap look perfect.
  • blarghiflarghblarghiflargh Member Posts: 99
They finally listed the Avengers 2 sets on Shop@Home.  The Hydra Fortress Smash really seems thinly bricked for the price.

Really hate how many of these sets have fairly generic ground vehicles.  Would rather have pieces of ruined buildings(ironically this is why I was interested in the Hydra Fortress) than yet another jeep or truck.

I picked up the Hulk Buster and the small Ultron set.  I want the Quicksilver and Vision figs but those sets are too much money and don't really have my interest.  May just buy those figs separately.

I'll will get the Hulkbuster set on Sunday or Monday for my definitive Hulkbuster MOC; expect to see it around the UK release date (Thursday April 23rd) for Avengers: Age of Ultron!

The rest I will wait for sales or something.

Does anyone know when the new sets will be available to Australian buyers on S@H? So far, none of the stores I've been into have any info on new Marvel sets, one of the workers at Kmart actually asked me if Lego have the licence... I'd enquire at one the local Lego specialist toy shops, but they tend to get pissy if you don't pre-order on the spot after finding out the date.

Has anyone spotted the Attack on Avengers Tower at a TRU?
  • Vance2Vance2 Member Posts: 15
Yes, fenderbender. I picked that up last Sunday at a TRU. Stopped by a couple of different TRUs yesterday in NH and both had just stocked all of the AoU sets.

just returned from my local TRU.  They appear to have all of the new sets, they claim they shouldn't be selling them, but they are anyway.  Finally got my hands on the Avengers tower!

Yeah I saw everything at TRU last night.  Hulkbuster seems to be the big seller, they only had one of him and multiples of everything else.  The sets all look decent enough, though I wish the $20 Thor/Hawkeye set wasn't so boring.

Thinking I'm going to wait until I have $10 in rewards and go on a Thursday to get the TRU CC 10% off to get the quinjet.  $80 for that set is pushing it.

BTW TRU has a $5 off $25 LEGO purchase coupon you can use for the next few days, you can find it at retailmenot or elsewhere online.

Must say, I took a punt on ebay and did a BIN on a winter soldier poly from a chap with 0 rating as his BIN price was less than almost all auctions. Anyway, bit of a risk buying from a new seller, but the bag arrived inside two day in perfect condition, and his shipping cost was free - very positive feedback left and happy days.

Can anybody answer a couple quick questions?

I want to add a Hulk Buster to my Iron Man lab/garage and won't probably buy it for a couple weeks...

    1) What are the rough dimensions of the suit (in studs if possible). Don't really need to worry about height but I want to make sure I have enough horizontal space.

    2) Do the legs of the suit bend so that it can be placed in a lower "sitting" position?

    Thank you.

A little off track but does anyone here use Bing Rewards....you get a $5 Toys R Us gift card a month just for searching on Bing. Okay so I hope no one thinks I'm just spamming. The reason I mention this is I just earned my $5 certificate for the month and with that $5 coupon I'm pondering getting Avenger's tower there instead of the Lego store where I usually go for new sets (I like to earn my rewards). Does it look like Toys R Us is charging MSRP on this set or are they hiking it up. They have been rather inconsistent lately. Some sets have the price increase but many seem to be at the correct. I just don't want to waste the gift card and coupon on something I can get for cheaper at the Lego store.
  • sklambsklamb Member Posts: 516

Since you know exactly which set interests you, couldn't you make a note of its price at S@H before going to TRU? Then if the price at TRU was hiked up, you wouldn't make the purchase.

Of course, if it's a major effort getting to TRU and you don't want to waste the time, my suggestion doesn't help. But I have the feeling, rightly or wrongly, that there is a certain amount of local input into what gets marked up at any particular TRU, just as there is at Target. So you might not be able to know for sure without going.

You can't get it to sit, it just squats.  In terms of width, I don't have a ruler at hand, but I compared it to a few of the new Toa and I would say that the Hulkbuster's shoulders are as wide as Gali, maybe a bit wider.  Hope that helps!

Good point and with the coupon and the gift certificate I should be able to use both.
  • chuckpchuckp Member Posts: 684
Solarious I briefly touched on the Hulkbuster size in the "What are your building?" thread, but it's really not that big. It's about 16 studs tall and roughly 11 studs wide at the shoulders, the widest point.

As far as sitting, it does have ball joints at the hips so it can bend, but not full on "sitting". More like lounge mode. :) Here are a couple of pics to give you an idea of the size and sitting position. Hope this helps.

The Hulkbuster definitely looked bigger in the first pics they release, but seeing next to the Sentinel, looks like its about right (sort of) for scale to the Hulk big fig...

^ Yeah, I would agree it's probably the right scale in relation to the Hulk big fig. It wouldn't look right if it were any bigger, but the box image gave me the impression it would be larger.

Managed to pick up The Hydra Fortress Smash a couple days ago. The Hydra Tank is pretty cool but the fortress was kinda meh.

Not sure if it was mentioned but I picked up the Hydra Showdown at Wal-Mart for $16.24. Not bad for set that isn't "officially" released.
  • SolariousSolarious Member Posts: 317
    Thanks for the size comparisons
I have about a 16x16 space to fit it in so it should work perfectly

As for the sitting, I was looking more for a powered down look. This looks more like its trying to have a really awkward tea party.
I'll stick to the standing position.
