Dropship was not marked down in store. Forgot to scan it to see if it was different in the system, but the others had been re-tagged.
The few sets I did grab I may have to take back due to overspending on my part. Other bills take precedence.
Sounds like a BP type of guy. :)
So to answer your question: yes, I found some :)
Isn't there a way to tell in the codes on the price tags if the item will be marked down any further? I would pick one up as an investment of it goes any lower than $25...
^ well that explains why I could not find any. ha ha. I visited 2 target today and 1 was correct on the inventory but not the price on the steamroller but the other target was correct on both for each set I looked at. I did manage to get 1 steamroller adjusted down to the 50% off by showing them the app and what it was supposed to be. I asked the manager if they would adjust the rest if I bought them all but they would not. I only grabbed 1 dropship for my personal collection.
I did also find some of the new hobbit sets on clearance so I got a few copies of them.
Waiting for the hobbit to lower and I assume the agents will be 50% off next week since tons of product is just sitting on all the shelfs.
@mathew
I just saw Dol Guldur a couple days ago at %50
I'm not a reseller by any means but I'm always on the lookout for new parts
I had to go across town today to get a part at a car dealership. I knew there was a Target down the road from it, and despite writing off this new Target clearance-checking website earlier in this thread, I was tempted by fate once more. I took a moment to see what it said this particular store had on clearance, and how much. The only thing that stood out on my want list was the X-Men set #76022, and it was showing that they had 1x of them marked down to $24.98.
I walked into this Target at shortly after open at about 8:20am. I made my way to the toys and it was like a Target team member SWAT team had infiltrated the entire area. At least two people in each aisle stocking/moving/scanning stuff. I heard the constant beeping of PDAs. For some reason it made me feel odd coming there to find discount LEGO, like I would be frowned upon or something.
Anyway, I casually stroll up to the LEGO stuff expecting to not find the X-Men set, but instead I saw 4x of them! My eyes narrowed in on the glorious red clearance tag and it was confirmed, $24.98/ea. I casually (excitedly) shoved 3x of them into my cart, leaving 1x behind as is my clearance custom. Karma, or whatever. Let at least one more person feel the thrill.
Not expecting to want/find anything else of interest, I quickly scanned the rest of the area just to double-check. I found 4x Pooping Parrot #31031 for $7.49 (I bought 1x). I also found 7x Agents Infearno #70162 for $14.98 (again I bought 1x). I was hoping to find that set on discount. Looks like a Tron vehicle with the black and trans-blue stuff.
Ok, now I was REALLY done. I was super stoked with my haul, and I headed out of the toy section. Oh, there's the series 12 minifig cardboard display. *walks by it* Wait a sec... *walks back to it*, some of these yellow-y packs look awfully faded or something. Silver.... OMG there's some series 9 mixed in! I pluck out all 8 or so of them and get my feel on. I managed to find a chicken suit guy and a forest maiden. I'm not a huge CMF person but I was happy to land these for my very modest collection.
Considering my luck and everything in my cart, I was willing to give Target a pass on charging me $3.99 for those. :p
(grabs coat and heads out the door to nearest Target)
I've been ripping apart Target and Walmart stores looking for a Benny's at that price. *sigh... the promised land.
Benny's Spaceship is a great build but it's huge and takes up a lot of space. It's also a little too funky looking for me to display long term. Like the rest of TLM sets I think it will look dated in a few years after the thrill is gone.
Well there is disagreement concerning classic space ; )
I personally love classic space. And I like Benny's Spaceship.
It's just a little over the top for my tastes and it doesn't fit anywhere on a shelf without the wings over hanging. There are a lot of cool parts to it that makes it worth picking up for someone who is into classic space. I prefer the Futuron color scheme however.
Yeah the stickers kind of suck. I think if they would have printed most of the other parts (like Classic Space) it would raise the value of the set ten-fold.
For those of you who aren't finding any good deals and are feeling slightly disappointed... you aren't alone.
The Target brickseek section worked for quantities. The fyndly seemed to show different quantities at times, but I wonder how often each one is refreshed?
They had loads of the Joker set but I passed on them. That set must have really bombed. Resale value will be zero on that one. I am getting close to a half a million pieces now and don't want my last remaining space cluttered with sets I won't touch.
