[Master thread] Additions to the Brickset Database

Many thanks for this site, I love it.

I'm a collector of the DACTA sets and noticed that set 9700 is missing from the database. Here's the bricklink entry for reference:

Latest Legends of Chima magazine gift, #loc814. The magazine calls it "Fire spinner and ramp" - it's not just the spinner, but indeed also contains a small ramp. Altogether, there are 21 parts.

The next magazine will be out 20 August. It says "2 toys & awesome stickers", but it's not really clear if it will be Lego toys. There is, however, an image of what looks like a minifig of Vornom (similar to #loc096) with a sword.

Is that a CMF stand at the bottom? It doesn't quite look right.

Or is it a 4x4 tile with studs along one side that has been cropped in the picture.

Problem with the image for #7985: it does not depict the whole set. However, the first of the alternate images does. If you want a larger version of the image depicting the full contents of the set, one can be found here thanks to Brickshelf user grogall.

I noticed that the image for #70817 "Batman & Super Angry Kitty Attack" has the "preliminary image" and "confidential" watermark. Is this intentional? I was always under the impression that brickset would not use nor link to those images.

Despite it having a confidential watermark the set was displayed to the public at SDCC so we decided to use the image.

I sent an e-mail about a week ago suggesting some additions to the key chain section. I'm in the process of completing a fairly comprehensive set of multiple-theme key chains. For instance, there remains no entry for a 2004-2006 Obi-Wan Kenobi key chain #851461. There's a few Harry Potter key chains missing, and a few double-entries.

(I also use Brickset to maintain my collection, so it drives me a bit nuts to have missing items.)

Is posting in this forum the best way to get that all updated? I would have to e-mail in the photos of the key chains not in the database, and also update few that don't have pictures.

We haven't spent a lot of time on keyrings because there are too many and it's virtually impossible to track them unless LEGO sells them from shop.LEGO.com.

However, if you have a spreadsheet with all the pertinent information (6-digit number, year, name, theme) for those that are missing, and can provide photos on a clean white background, I'm happy to add them.

Once I "complete" my on-hand collection, I'll send you a comprehensive update. I've found that the same key chains are often listed under two different numbers, which is confusing and doesn't accurately reflect my collection.

I spotted this error in the database:
The Friends' Heartlake City Playmat is in a misspelled category. It is in Gear, Micellaneous instead of Gear, Miscellaneous.

Hello. Sorry if this is in the wrong thread. Just wondering if this is an error or omission:

The complete set of Collectable Minifigures Series 12 doesn't have a total piece count:

Where as the rest of the complete sets do, e.g.:

So, if i choose to own the complete s12, it doesn't add piece counts to my totals. :-(

Yes.. but we don't add them manually. Once the sets have been inventoried at BrickLink, rather than just the minifigs being added there, they'll turn up here.

Noticed that these are missing from Brickset, we went to a set of temporary booths set up in Westfield Marion on a saturday, early in December last year, build one & the people manning the booths would give you a santa key-chain like 850150. Someone who attended the sunday session said key-chains handed out were elves, but I can't confirm that. Not sure where to go with the Bricklink thing, so I don't know if they have this down...

A set or not a set? That is the question. I know we have similar things in the database, items without packaging or instructions, but the line has to be drawn somewhere.

Where do others think it should be drawn?

They do need to be assembled so, on a technicality, they are a 'set'. I'm not too fussed personally if they are included, but if these are not to be included as a set, I think that any others like it should likewise be removed, for the sake of continuity...

Just a thought on the In-Store Promotional Builds, can we get a poll happening on whether or not to include them in the database? If they are to be kept, I have a Duplo Parrot that can be added too, promo was at TRUs in Australia, mid February 2015.

I'd classify it as 'tat', although the stickers are fun for robot-MOCs. I just thought I'd check if you need proper pics for database before discarding the box. I just thought to be of help because I don't have any great value exclusives or anything so can't provide much else ;-)

Do you guys want Duplo stuff? Managed to get copy of the instructions for an in-store duplo build for TRU in Feb 2015. I've got a scanner that works with our laptop, so I can do up the instructions for the exclusive I have, plus a few other I've noticed TLG don't have on their site.
