^One trick I've seen a lot is for people to put an upside-down beige/tan bush piece under the branches of a palm tree to represent the hanging-down stuff that some palm trees have. Not entirely sure how it's done, but I'd imagine with a rod or technics axle like that.

Heh, I barely have parts for attempting a car, that's the only pair of wheels I've got. There are a few bond cars I want to build sometime though.

Fair enough. I'd like to build more cars, but every time I build something all I get is some sci-fi/space-esque model :P

@CapnRex101, Will that weekly contest thing be going again? or is that over?
  • CapnRex101CapnRex101 United KingdomAdministrator Posts: 2,280
@rancorbait - To be honest I had forgotten all about it. Once the Mixels contest is over we might look at holding a new competition like the Neo-Classic Space one from last year.

Just built this ship because I wanted to practice technic skeletons and I wanted to use the new wind screen from the Slave 1. It is supposed to be a sort of command ship from no specific theme. The flaps open up and top comes off. The cockpit seats 2 pilots and 1 commander. There is also a compartment for a robo soldier.

I built another space ship to go along as an enemy of my last one I made. It's a bulky smuggling ship I call the "Bucket" simply because it looks like a big bucket. The back is open for loading cargo (the passengers are cyborgs so they don't need to breath anyway). The top is easily removable to reveal the cockpit and another area I made into an illegal labratory. There are panels in the floor that reveal a secret illegal bug storage. The blue lights on the top also have glow in the dark pieces under which adds an interesting affect in the dark.

Necessity is the mother of invention? Well not quite in this case but I had a weak 9v motor that worked fine by itself but as soon as you put a load on it (attached it to a locomotive) it would quit. Somebody on EB suggested that maybe it has a poor thermal fuse (?) and it could be pulled out if you opened up the motor case. Anyway, since it ran well I decided to just decorate it with parts on hand and thus, the "Rocket Car" was born. It can really tear around the track without falling off so should please the kids at a show Im doing this weekend.

    In legal trouble?
    Better call Saul!

I built this little model for the new AMC spin off show, Better Call Saul. It features James McGill (Saul Goodman) and a telephone booth. The telephone even comes out with an attached cable that can go back into the box. I plan on also building his yellow car but I think I need to order some parts first (my collection has proven to be barren of yellow pieces).

I built a couple of western/steam punk MOCs, first is a steam punk walker with a minifig I'm pretty sure I spent more time on then the MOC. :P Second is a large western mine I set up like a play set with hidden money, a mine cart filled with dynamite, a spring loaded exploding rock and much more. I was even able to fit in the mirror from the Dectective's office in a vertical position in the house, building thing. :P I'm thinking of uploading a video of the mine just because there are to many things to explain in words.

I made this for the TC6 competition on eurobricks. It is a Terrafugia Transition Street-legal Aircraft (flying car). It had to have 4 power functions so the shape is compromised due to having 5 motors and a battery box crammed inside. Somebody said it looked like a platypus so I ran with it.

I built this bulky cargo ship to go along with the last white and grey ship I made. It has a lot of space inside for large boxes and the skeleton is completely Technic so it is very sturdy.

Good news!! This is us breaking the good news to our daughter!
I like it that the face of the daughter is out of shot. Leaves room for interpretation as to whether its "wow!" or more like "oh no...." ;)

    ^thanks!

I uploaded the photo from my phone, which I've not been able to do before, the only downside was I wasn't given the choice of how big the photo was going to be. Not sure if there's a way around that or not.

And yes she's going to love being a big sister!!

Felt like making an armor for Rogon ever since I heard we were getting a Rhino buildable armor. Took some cues from Mixels, Hulk Buster, but mostly inspired by Rogon's own Rock Flinger.

Not exactly MOCs perse but they are custom minifigs. First is a snow golem I made (I made it before ToyFair :P) and Admiral Ackbar with sea creature hands I thought looked good on him. Second is Rick Grimes from The Walking Dead with a couple of zombies. The last picture is me! ;) I've made 2 so far and 2 more are on the way. :P

Made two more, the owl is pretty lame though. The Prometheus is not that good either.
Can we do requests? :-) I'd love to see a little chibi SSV Normandy from Mass Effect.
@plasmodium - Not Chibi, but I found this on Flickr: SSV NORMANDY SR2A (LDD Building Instructions) by CaptainDunDun You can download the LXF file in the description :)
