I'm wanting the Star Wars Ghost and Prototype TIE advanced. If I throw in the Volkswagon camper (which I also want) I'll then have enough vip points for the green lantern/batman set. A trip to the metro centre store may be in order.

Still looking for a Fire Brigade at a fair price.

Prices aren't getting better. The longer you look the higher they will be.

I mostly only collect vintage space sets (Classic, Futuron, Blacktron I, Space Police, Space Police II) but I am interested in getting the Exo-Suit, Ecto-1, and Back to the Future sets soon.

Had a splurge at the metro centre store yesterday. Picked up The Ghost, the TIE prototype and Ezras speeder bike, all from Star Wars Rebels. As well as the VW Camper van.

So am I! Why sell for £400 today when I can wait and sell for £800 next year. Especially when likeminded buyers are around

I'm hunting down the new Avengers sets, but I'm having no luck. I'm in the US, so if anyone has any leads please PM me. Thanks!

I just picked up an ecto-1 set, and flying flushers.

I'd LIKE to buy some straight road baseplates, but apparently there are NONE on bricklink in the USA right now :(

Just ordered Detective Office with a small discount. Really like the colours in this set, and the overall appearance is quite cool!

I was trying to cut back on buying any medium/large sets before May 4th weekend, but I accidentally won an #10244 Fairground Mixer on Ebay at 1/3 off inc postage, which I thought was a pretty good deal.

Still searching for a #10029 Lunar Lander at a good price, trying to find one of the #76032 Quinjets at a store near me. Other than that there is an odd Classic Soace set here and there possible a #6929

Really, I'm buying too much.....but mostly Friends & Disney clearance/sale items I find, Kmart and select Walmarts are great for this. Also, modulars from the Lego store and Star Wars UCS.

We used to go nuts on the minifigures, but not anymore...waaayyyy too many duplicates....we now just spend the extra coupla dollars and buy the ones we want at toys shows.

Going nuts at Lego Store with their massive sale area, picking up sets, I never had on a want list but couldn't pass up.  All were 40% off.  They had many more I "don't" need but might be getting if they are still there...they had so many I had to leave before I went broke...
    Picked up:
    75021 Republic Gunship
    60064 Arctic Supply Plan
    75013 Umbaran MHC

Where do Lego Stores typically have their items on sale? Never noticed a sale section in the past.
  • oldtodd33oldtodd33 Member Posts: 2,694
^ In my store they are always in the center of the store about 20 ft. in front of the register on a raised platform.

Over the weekend I visited two lego shops. I bought:

    #21109 #41074 #60083 #42033 #41067 #60053 #41527 #41532 #31014 #31028

Thanks to a very helpful lego employee I got these for free:

    #30312 x4
    #5001622 x12

And I managed to purchase #6628 which is MIB and 14 years older than me! That was a successful trip.

@oldtodd33 on large sale days do they raise the platform higher so people come around it like zombies jumping for sets? ;)
  • BACbrixBACbrix Member Posts: 655
I just won sealed bags random 10 lot of them. One of the bags has all 6 minifigures from the most recent Millennium Falcon so that is a good omen. Only paid 26$ for all 10 bags and that is a stealll

Wow how did you get those for free?

  • oldtodd33oldtodd33 Member Posts: 2,694
@bobabricks  No, They just put them out maybe quarterly on a short platform and people walk by, take a look and move on. I have rarely bought a set on sale at that store. The damaged train boxes only get you 10% off if you're lucky so I usually buy the larger sets on sale some where else.

We're looking at a few things, hellicarrier is the most expensive at the moment but we're also looking at the arctic sets for our five yr old. He loves the colour and gets a thrill about handing dad the pieces to be put together.

@piratemania7 I started talking to one of the store employees who was clearly an AFOL herself. We got talking about Lego and she told me that they each have a sigfig in their break room based on the employee polybag. I told her that the employee polybag was on my wanted list and over three trips to the register she slipped a few more in each time. The city driller she had to give to me anyway as I spent over £25 each time.

Finally pulled the trigger on #10237 LotR Tower of Orthanc. I would have never forgiven myself had I let that retire on by me. I have nowhere to display it right now, so into storage it goes until I get a proper computer room/office one day. =/

I have just bought the Kingdoms Joust and now I'm trying to find a Village Mill Raid at a decent price...
I'm also watching the Tower of Orthanc and the Ewok village so they don't retire before I can get them.

^yeah that's good advice. I just sold a used one on eBay for $130. Complete and in great shape but no box. The interest in it was nuts. Had over 500 views for a one week auction.
  • EluneElune Member Posts: 99
I know! Urgh... I guess I'll have to make do with it's current market price and not wait to maybe find a deal someday...
I hope Lego releases a new wave of Castle sets in 2016.

Orthanc actually does not take up much horizontal space.  It's fairly easy to display in the corner of a room:

Oh I know, it's just that I need to be Lord Business with pets and a kid running around. Not building something like Orthanc until I have a little sanctuary from chaos.
