    ^ vs. technic?  Don't think any technic have had 10xxx numbers so this appears to be the next in the line of the VW Bug, T1, and Mini style models.  Surprised this is the first I've seen of it.  the F40 is an amazing car so hope the model is good.

    LEGO Creator sets are for classic and iconic things such as the Volkswagen or Tower Bridge. I would say the Ferrari F40 will not be a LEGO Creator set and would instead be a part of the LEGO Speed Champions it's in the name "Speed!"

    Is it going to be the Maersk 2, 150 stickers. Seems to be the main feature of the Speed Champions line.

    Well, I wouldn't say that. The Maersk Line Triple-E (#10241) is a class of ship that did not exist prior to 2011. The Ferrari F40 is way more "classic" than that, dating from the 80s and 90s.

    Really, the Creator Expert line is just an umbrella for big exclusive sets that previously would not have been labeled with themes at all. This includes all kinds of subject matter, from minifigure-scale playsets to large-scale vehicles to small-scale world landmarks. But usually, when there DOES exist a theme that the set would fit under, it is released as a part of that theme instead of Creator Expert. A good example is the Haunted House (which was released as a Monster Fighters set).

    If the Speed Champions theme did not exist, it would not be a surprise for the Ferrari F40 to be released as a Creator Expert set. But since there IS such a theme, #10248 will probably be released with Speed Champions branding.

    It won't be any worse than the VW or MINI. At a larger scale, a lot of details can be brick-built that would otherwise be stickers or prints, plus it won't be plastered with the sponsor logos that account for a lot of the Speed Champions sets' stickers.

    The F40 is a great choice as it doesn't have too many odd curves or angles to replicate in Lego form like most current hypercars do. I expect it will look really clean and impressive.

    I'm visiting friends in Brighton today and popped into the Lego shop whilst I'm there. I love the store and some great PAB pieces. I got talking to an employee and I said I was saving my VIP points for the rumoured Ferris wheel. The employee said he has just seen pictures. It's due for early release the middle of next month, £149.99, over 2000 pieces. Aesthetically it looks similar to the mixer but he doesn't think it folds onto a lorry. He says its meant to look like a famous Ferris wheel in Denmark (although I don't know what Ferris wheel this is - anyone else know? Something to do with the world wars?). Anyways, I can't find any pictures leaked on the Internet.

    I'm looking forward to seeing this set and hopefully buying it. I love the mixer so hopefully it will complement my fair ground!

    If you hadn't said World Wars in your comment I might have thought it was a different one.

    Tivoli was the inspiration for Disneyland. It's been open for 172 years this coming August. The 170th birthday was celebrated in 2013, so in terms of a design to market timeframe, that would be fitting as an obvious choice?

    Last year was fairground mixer unveiled saturday 26 of april.Today is saturday 25 of april.Do you think that today, will be fairground mixer unveiled?

    It... really doesn't look anything like that Tivoli one. I wasn't under the impression that it's based on any particular design, but I suppose Jamie will enlighten us in the designer video. There's a picture of it on the June calendar that comes out in a week, so I'm assuming the official reveal is pretty soon.

    Some Ferris wheel facts on that page too, so I learned something new.

    Looking forward to the reveal in any case. I mean, it's going to be a Ferris Wheel right, it's not like Jamie's video is going to say "Surprise! It's Dodgems! (Bumper cars)" ;)

    Unless they got really sneaky and sent out a fake calendar draft to every store just to cover their tracks, then yes, it's a Ferris wheel.

    In terms of look, the Grand Carousel is superior but in terms of play, I think the mixer is much better. The Grand Carousel is always breaking apart and is very fragile and difficult to move around.

    I guess so. Maybe LEGO are going for a different approach with these Fairground sets; direct to consumer playsets with plenty of accessories and playability rather than being outstanding display pieces.

    @just2good - It's Philly Brickfest this weekend I believe, which is certainly a sufficiently large event to warrant a reveal.

    I have been on that Ferris Wheel at the Tivoli Gardens, but I would prefer a more traditional model, preferably with eight spokes and gondolas or even more than that!

    ^perhaps.

    To stick with a 149.99 likely price point there will be certain sacrifices made. I think the gondolas will be minifig scale which will take away from the overall "size".

    Pretty cool.  Will definitely pick that up.  Interesting how it uses a tire along the edge to drive it.  Will be a fun set to have at my desk at work.

    How does a model qualifies as a large set exactly? Is there a minimum number of pieces, or minimum weigh?

    I think I need to wait to see more to judge. 
    It is not doing it for me at first glance, and I am not sure why. 
    I wanted to love both the mixer and the Ferris wheel. I love the number of characters they come with and the theme. It is possible that the blue legs on the Ferris wheel are initially throwing me off. Hopefully there is a designer video on this one. Of course, the advantage if I do not change my mind is that it is one more big set I will not need. :-) This could also be one of those sets I adjust to and then really want. I will wait for more info.

    Most (real ones) do use a tired wheel to move them, but not coming at the side like those are.  I really wonder how smooth it will be as those wheels skip along the joints.  Anyway, given the universal joint and axles shown, that's clearly how the wheel is powered/hand-cranked.

    I will say I definitely like it more in the designer video. The color scheme does not bug me in that video.  I love how substantial this set looks as well. I love the number of minifigs that are included as well, and the range of minifigs. I haven't decided if this will be a theme that makes it here or not, but it is at least a set I will consider.

    That's how the Grand Carousel worked too..with the wheels helping roll along.

    ^ and it isn't always that smooth either.  I've had a carousel running for a period of time at a display and it tends to just chew up the tyre and leave a black residue on the model!

    looking forward to the Ferris Wheel, it looks a good set.
