Mine has been stocking old Monster a Fighters, Sponge Bob, and Ben 10 sets I've never seen on their shelves and they're all at least 40% off.

I wish my WM had Monster Fighters and Sponge Bob at 40%+ off. Not the greatest of sets, but great for the parts bin. The MF sets are usually worth getting for the alone.

Love to find some monster fighters and sponge bob stuff. I'm seeing some discounted super heros, Star Wars , turtles and Chima stuff. The freight train is $139 here. Trades? Going to have a look today and see what's up

I would buy every old set I could get my hands on. Before Christmas a store here had legos for 55 percent off on a one day sale. We spent over $600, 2 carts full. Lego movie, city, Star Wars, turtles and creator sets.
  • KralaskanKralaskan Member Posts: 208
Went to 4 wallmarts today. 2 of them had End cap cases each with 120 series 13 mini figs.
I bought a full case. Also lucked out and found 68 series 11 mini figs. Bought them all.
Aviation adventures for $40. Lego city tow truck for $13 lego movie lord buisness evil lair for $49

Found some At-Ats for $74 each but I just can't pull the trigger on an investment set that's only six months old...

Found a #75043 AT-AP for $40 (RRP $59.99) on the shelf of my Walmart today. So strange since the place is completely wiped out, must have been a return.

Brickseek now has a Walmart inventory tracker. Anyone find series 13 CMFs from Wakmart that could post the item id? I didn't find one searching online.

I hit two walmarts tonight and scored a Star Wars Duel on Geonosis for $20 (it was $30 at the second Walmart). I saw a shelf tag for tmnt Subs for $30 but couldn't find any. Also they just put out a half dozen of Hobbit, Escape from the Mirkwood Spider for $29.97. Not a deal at all, but shows they must be cleaning the warehouse.

Also, they are putting out some unclaimed lay-away. :(

Found lego movie ice cream trucks for $10, movie flying flusher for $21, super heros 76007 Malibu mansion for $15, forest creatures for $13, furry creature for $13, Aviation adventures for $40 and the big score was the cargo train
For $70. Nailed 3 of those. At another store found series 2 mixels for $3.99 and super heros 6862 power lex sets for $19. Nailed 7 of those
  • BumblepantsBumblepants Member Posts: 7,730
    dang! $70 trains is fantastic.
  • KralaskanKralaskan Member Posts: 208
I bought one 2 months ago for $200 from TRU. Taking it back tomorrow. Gave one train to my daughter, keeping the other 2. One to open, one going into my rathole.
  • ReliantReliant Member Posts: 68
    70! That's a far cry from the clearance 139$

    Did you d
Find them in the clearance section or reg lego isle?
  • KralaskanKralaskan Member Posts: 208
They had a bunch of tables set up near toy area. Bunch of discounted stuff. I looked the other day and they had some superheros marked down to $30, some lego movie down to $20 The trains were $140. I passed and went back today, 2 days later to grab some of the super heros sets. Crap they were all gone. Then went over to the lego isle and found 2 of the iron man Malibu attacks. They were not priced but I remembered I saw that one for $30 the other day. A lady worker walked by and I asked her about it. She scanned it and said yes that one is on close out. She then said she could help me out more. Shocked that she marked them to $15! So I went further, found a movie ice cream truck, same thing, marked it to $10, so I pushed further and asked about trains. She said yes those needed to move and marked them down to $70. What is strange is we went to 8 wallmarts and they all had a different deal going. Some killer, some none.
  • wayneggwaynegg Member Posts: 394
Not as good as the train deal for sure, but was able to pick up Goblin King Battle for $79 tonight.
  • KralaskanKralaskan Member Posts: 208
That one is cool, have not seen that one in a while. I did score superheros power lex sets today
  • BumblepantsBumblepants Member Posts: 7,730
Found an Agents Toxikita's Meltdown set for $30. Not incredible but still the best I've seen for this set. I thought the Agents line would be discounted a lot leading up to Christmas but never really were.

I'm not saying I don't believe people when they say that they go to stores and just happen by an employee who marks stuff down for them on the spot but sheesh I'd love that to happen for me one day!
  • KralaskanKralaskan Member Posts: 208
It's is true. The trains were marked down to $140. I asked about them and the lady said she was going to mark them down again and place them on the close out rack.
I was shocked when she placed a $70 tag on it. There were 4 of them, one had a smashed
Box so i nailed the other 3
  • dragon114dragon114 Member Posts: 642
if i see the trains for $70 im going to pick one up.
  • pharmjodpharmjod Member Posts: 2,916
I always get the same tired schtick about markdowns are set by corporate blah blah blah. I know they have no idea what they are talking about as every store has the ability to do additional markdowns but I get tired of asking so I just don't anymore.

It lasted about 3 minutes on the shelf, a lady grabbed it. Said he sons birthday was soon.
I gave one to my daughter and kept 2. We took the $200 one we bought before Xmas at tru back. Ha ha
  • ElkkthunderElkkthunder Member Posts: 48
    None near me
Had fam in albuquerque try to find one to no luck as well
  • KralaskanKralaskan Member Posts: 208
The lady told me everything on the close rack will continue to be marked down as the days go by and they are also adding to it. She said more sets will be added. Good deal but it's a pain
To keep going to all of them to look.
  • 12651265 Member Posts: 1,165
    ^^
Yeah, been thinking about taking back those

    This.

They don't care to do it just like any one of us being an employee being treated like crap at Walmart.

At my Walmart they will mark it down once then let it rot for how ever long it takes.

I don't know how it works, I was about to buy 2 trains for $140, 2 Malibu attacks for $30 and a ice cream truck for $20. The toy lady was walking buy and I asked her if the Malibu set was still on sale because the 2 i had were not marked. She said yes and wait because she could help me more because the items I had were all on close out. Everything got marked to half more, i smiled and said thanks. That was about it for legos there unless they put more out.
Was funny that i was still able to return the TRU $200 train I guess, but the wife spent it on more sets while we were there so they still got my money.

The Walmarts near me have been bare since xmas...the only thing on clearance here is the dust on the shelves.
  • KralaskanKralaskan Member Posts: 208
If I see any more i will grab them for you guys. I don't need to profit from the deal

wallmart was bare to the bone on lego set's. legos are one are top toy's in my state.
  • Sethro3Sethro3 Member Posts: 1,016
It definitely varies per location. My wal-marts are bare too. Rarely any deals in general, but especially no deals considering Christmas cleaned them out.

I've only ever seen one discount and it just sits there until someone finally buys it OR they do whatever they do with it. It never gets a second discount.

One of my WMs has removed all non-Friends Lego. The Friends aisle is separate and is still there (fully stocked). The non-Friends aisle is now stocked with non-Lego toys. I asked one of the stockers and she had no idea what happened to it :(.
  • pvancil27pvancil27 Member Posts: 588
Mine are bare as well. Our most well stocked one had 4 sets total.
  • malachirobertsonmalachirobertson Member Posts: 268
I found the Lego Movie Ice Cream Truck and the Flying Flusher both on clearance for $21. The only other clearance that I remember is some small Chima sets, some Hero Factory, and the Ninjago MechDragon (which I think is cheaper on-line).
  • MrJ_NYMrJ_NY Member Posts: 592
Just found an almost empty end rack of Series 13 CMF at one Walmart near me.I managed to find the Paleontologist I wanted to go along with my Research Institute but I was in a hurry & have more than half of the Series already...so I may go back early tomorrow & fondle a few more packs.
  • KralaskanKralaskan Member Posts: 208
Saw lots of 13s today out and about. Most were un fondled. Lots of 12s and Simpsons. No sale yet. I did stumble onto 3 11s today, very odd. Wallmart had some last remaining ice cream trucks for $21 and we nailed 3 Chima 70012 razars raider for $15, 70008 gorilla striker for $29 and the best score was 70009 worriz combat lair for $29. All on close out rack. They had the movie lord evil lair for $49. We have 2 of those so passed. I'm not into Chima but wife and kid were tickled. And she got the large junior castle set in the brick bucket for $17. That was a $50 set.
Shelfs are getting bare, seems like more sets are going on sale all the time. I'm waiting for those dang guardians of the Galixie to go on sale. They have a shit load of them collecting dust. Been watching them all fall/winter and never seen a sale anywhere
  • DedgeckoDedgecko Member Posts: 798
I too have walmarts near me that clearance once and then let them rot. Hell, #70400 was put on clearance in August or whatever, for $11.99, insisting that it's original price was $14.99. I pointed the error out to the toy supervisor and she was insistent that she had no control over the pricing, it was set by corporate. Yet they are selling the same set on Walmart.com for $7.99. How loony is that? The sets are still rotting in their general clearance section.
  • KralaskanKralaskan Member Posts: 208
Very inconsistent from store to store. Blows me away some have clearance racks and good deals that keep getting cheaper until they are gone and some stores have no sales with dust on the boxes. Those guardians sets have dust in every store, none of them have moved in months
  • sonsofscevasonsofsceva Member Posts: 542
Still a Quinjet at a Walmart by me that's been 30% for over a year. The box just gets more and more mangled over time.
