The other parts in this "rare lot" from a Danish owner (employee?) were a red (820) garage baseplate (for the #1235/#235 garage kits), a black 10x20 thick baseplate, and a set of white "no-glass" windows/door used for slotted bricks back in 1954-56.
Ironically those other parts were missing from the Billund LEGO Idea House display case that showed all the original LEGO parts produced by the company from 1949-55, as seen here...

The official LEGO Archives and Collections are mum on the subject of all of these items, which makes my job of finishing the UNOFFICIAL LEGO SETS/PARTS COLLECTORS GUIDE (1949-90s) more time consuming due to having to play LEGO Sherlock Holmes in regards to many rare LEGO items.... :-(
Thank you...

More recent versions are called "Boat Weight" on Bricklink.
Not sure of the value, but they are quite fun!
^ This does sound like a good explanation, did you work on any of the games?

Hi there
Can anyone identify this space helmet / breather for me? i'm usually ok at part tracking but can't find this one...ta
My flatmate spoke to the guy at his work who designed these paperweights, he confirms they were definitely only made for employees who worked on the computer games as these cost about £50 each to manufacture. Maybe only a few dozen were made for each game. The collectable value should be a bit more due to the rarity of the items and desirability of the range. SW, Batman and HP will demand a higher price than Rock Band. Hope this helps.

Anyway, I have had great luck identifying pieces with sites such as Bricker but I can't find what the piece I've attached a picture of is. I remember it from when I was younger but I haven't a clue what it went to. Any ideas? Thanks.

They had these at retail stores like Toys R Us, etc, and frequently came in small groups, positioned above the LEGO shelves. I'm not sure when they first started appearing, but I know they were around in the late 1990's, and still exist here and there.
