just saw that over on eurobricks. I'll be passing on wave 13. No wow factor for me so i'm going to hold out to see what the simpsons wave 2 brings to the party

Wow, I think those are some pretty cool looking figures. Do we have a retail price yet? Are they still $4 US per pack?

I was going to pass on Series 12 until I saw them on clearance. Maybe this set will get treated the same way; I'd pick up almost anything lego related for less than $1!

The king is wonderful, as is the little goblin guy. And Ming the Merciless.

Oh wow! They look great, particularly the hot dog guy. I still need to call off to my local Lego store and buy the 12 that I need from this current series. :-D

Is anyone else thinking what I'm thinking about the Goblin? His headpiece looks strikingly similar to that of the Green Goblin in the LEGO Marvel video game. Here's hoping this means we may get a classic Green Goblin later this year.

Overall, I'm in love with the Unicorn Girl, Hot Dog guy and the Goblin. I can just picture a dark forest MOC riddled with the little guys.

Hot dog guy is awesome. Looks like there is a mystery fig as well?

The mystery fig would be number 17 in that series. I hope we don't have another random mystery chase figure fiasco going here.

Does anyone here speak German to translate that?

I don't think there is a mystery fig. It says use the code to unlock things in the minifigures game and then on the right says the next series is available from May and something about being surprised.

If Google Translate is correct, the bit in the middle is about collecting codes for the online game.

Do you mean the one with the question mark? It says new series in May, let yourself be surprised.
Or do you mean the floating eyes under the hot dog guy's hand..? What is that?
  • cardgeniuscardgenius Member Posts: 153
Hot dog guy is amazing. Everything else is not bad either. I skipped S12 but I'm actually looking forward to this one.

    I love the Disco Diva!

I'll say thanks, but no thanks to the derivative Disco Diva and Cyclops (Galaxy Trooper gets a pass because of its army-building potential) but the rest are must-haves for me. My personal favourites are the King, Fencer, and Carpenter.

I came here to say the exact same thing. Looks too similar to be a coincidence.

Looks like we're back to the same lime green as for Series 3. I wasn't sure whether the current yellow series was the start of reusing colours or if it was supposed to be a different shade.

Easier to say who i don't like: King, Unicorn, Carpenter, Disco Diva. The rest I like. Don't know why but I think I like the snake charmer the best.
  • thorniethornie Member Posts: 245
The King and the goblin are phenomenal. It really bums me out that they can't apply that sort of creativity/design aesthetic to a Castle theme. Instead we get repurposed minis and sets that look uninspired and lame.

    And Ming the Merciless.

I said exactly the same thing to ky other half on seing the pictures and she looked blankly back at me. Is any one else thinking that with that minifigure, the mix of chima armor/wings and upcoming Hawkman minifigure pieces it will soon be time to make Flash Gordon Lego happen?

    Number 17 - invisible ninja?

Either that or someone hasn't checked their work :)

^ it has already happened in my house, albeit with brickwarriors bird wings for the hawkmen.

The Cyclops is awful. But it'll be top of my list if those hands are sand blue - I think they are. They are a missing colour for monochrome minifig builders.

Exactly what I wa thinking @CCC‌
  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275

The King so reminds me of the Burger King mascot!

Was the first thing I thought of. Looks exactly like the stiff faced cartoony version they've used in commercials in recent years.

I like them all ( except probably cyclops ). Samurai is quite different to previous incarnation (no helmet )
Have to have the carpenter ( as that my occupation ) .

I'm excited for all of these - although my Disney-loving aspect leapt to the fore when I saw the female Samurai and the word "Mulan!" Burst from my lips...:-)

@carlq - when the list was released before I thought Mulan! So glad it was a girl samurai.

This is a remarkably strong line-up, to my mind the most attractive overall for quite a while. I like that the Sheriff is holding a Wanted poster of the Series 6 Bandit.

Agree with mountebank was a bit dissipointed with S12 but this looks a lot stronger. Particular stand outs are the hot dog guy and unicorn girl. Has a release date been given??
  • matticus_bricksmatticus_bricks Member Posts: 651
@Bricktick‌ January 1st I think! So not a very long wait until the bag-feeling frenzy begins.

That hot dog guy is excellent. If I get one of those it may just persuade me to open my
#40078 - Hot Dog Stand so he can be the flyer guy for it.

Wow!! I am super surprised by this series! Probably my favorite since series 2! So many army builders, love the new pieces. In fact, the ONLY figure I don't care for is the Disco dude, the rest are amazing. Favorite has got to be the king.

I'm in for a box. The printing details are the best compared to previous series. Understandable, however, these far exceed with greater attention to detail.

Pretty sure that is a Disco Dudette. Or since that sounds awkward, maybe a Disco Diva. Either way, not a dude.

@matticus_bricks‌, cheers. Didn't realise it would be that soon! Normally hate New Years sales but think I'll brave it this year, session the bag feeling and grap myself some of the new lego movie sets aswell!

Out of interest @yys4u in what context are you going to deploy your army of Unicorn Girls?

I'm keen on most of these, much better than 12 imo.
  • krklintkrklint Member Posts: 502
I'm going to have music from Queen running through my head all day! Now to hope that the DC line comes out with a minifig fanboy for "The Flash" wearing a white t-shirt that says FLASH on it... and a Ming/Gordon battle will commence :)

@Bricktick @Jahcurs yes, I thought Series 12 was really poor although it did contain one of my favourite minifigures of all Series and that's Spooky Girl. That, the Series 1 Robot and Series 6 Lady Liberty are the ones I like best of all.
  • CircleKCircleK Member Posts: 1,055
I really liked Series 12, although I do feel like quality is continuing to slip. That isn't something I expect to be any different with series 13 however.

S13 will most likely end up being one of my favorite releases to date. I pretty much love them all with the exception of Mrs. Clops. I even like Disco Diva due to the brown fro and excellent leg and torso printing. I'm also really glad the Goblin has regular size legs. This makes them much more useful for those wanting to repurpose them as orcs or what not. I may pick up some short legs in brown to make them more "little Goblin" like tho. I plan on buying a bajillion of them.

I do like this series. I don't think is better than 12 though. The hotdog guy will probably be purchased several times in our house. Looking at it I'd say the king, egyptian soldier, Sheriff, goblin, samurai, and hot dog guy are the only ones I really want.
  • dannyrwwdannyrww Member Posts: 1,394
    Maybe snake charmer too
  • daveace21daveace21 Member Posts: 41
Question: Since series 12 was officially for sale on Oct 1 and this new series 13 will be available on Jan 1 that is only three months between series. I do see that series 12 is already sold out on S&H Lego site...but i seem to remember there being more time between series releases? is this one quick or is it me? Do you think they might of produced less of series 12 than a normal CMF run? Or are they just so popular they sold out faster than normal? thanks.
