    The Mixer set really only made sense if they were going to push a theme. Think of it, instead of winter village they now have a summer carnival. I think we can expect a new set this May and it will continue into the future.

    Bring back Grand Carousel - would look smashing with the mixer.

    ^^Ferris Wheel is the next set to be released. I would imagine they'll have both sets on the shelf concurrently and sales of one set will help will drive the other. I speculate that it will work a bit like the Winter Village sets do by 2016, one phased out, one phased in, with only two to choose from any one time.

    So many better ideas for an evergreen theme than fairground/amusement park. But I can't fault TLG for trying new things. If they did a roller coaster for 2017 then I might be more interested.

    Remember that for some a set is only 'expensive' while it is still in production from LEGO. When it retires and goes up in price that logic sometimes goes out the window.
    The Mixer is a bit pricey IMO but I have to admit it is also a nice set considering you can pack it all up into the semi trucks.
    I was not a huge fan of this set but I think it was more due to the 149.95 USD price tag rather than the design.

    I don't fault them for trying new things, but I do fault the implementation of the set for it's sales. It is an amazing implementation, but isn't really one thing or another. It isn't that standalone display set, because so much of the set is pushed towards the ability to transform it, which takes away from it being a display piece. It isn't really a vehicle set either. It is an 'advanced' set, and yet doesn't look advanced in the way PR or DO do. I really, really want to like it, and yet whenever I have seen it, I would rather put my money towards something else.

    I may still get it at some point, because I really would love a carnival set, but I am really 'eh' on it.

    A minifigure scale rollercoaster would also have to fold up on the back of a transporter to be part of the same theme as the mixer. I can't see that happening. Anybody ever heard of a mobile 'coaster?

    I think fairground mixer has great potential on the aftermarket. It isn't really talked about and has a high price point deterring a lot of buyers. I think this will result in a premature EOL and it is a fairly unique set right now. It is definitely a set that I want to pick up but has been bumped down the priority due to other sets going EOL. If goes fairly quickly then I can see this being the case for lots of people.

    IMO, the design of the Mixer is second to none. I guess I don't really have an issue with the price point after having built the set. I hope any future sets contain the same engineering and design.

    I don't think it's being talked about simply because it's so early in it's lifespan. I don't think anyone is ignoring it's long term potential though.

    You also can have bumper cars as well. Wonder if the designers' heads would explode doing the 'Zipper' in the vein of these sets.

    I agree. It's a very innovative set that allows one to either manually turn it or motorize it. A lot of thought obviously went into its design. I would love to see a full-blown theme around this idea.

    If they're doing another Ferris Wheel than a Carousel isn't fare behind. I just think they need to get to a lower price point for the series. WV prices have fluctuated a little bit, but nothing over $100. Mixer is $150 right out of the gate - tough call for parents at that price.

    Although fairground mixer has 1700+ pieces versus 1200+ for WVM and 1400+ for WVC.

    If they do another carousel, it will be much smaller and less ornate than Grand Carousel. I imagine it would be bigger than the simple one in Winter Village Market.

    If there is indeed a Ferris Wheel coming, the Mixer is gold. Would be nice if they included the free hot dog cart again (or, and! balloon cart) for the upcoming sales.

    I really hope this is a new trend, that they include set-specific polys with certain models like they have been lately.

    Not sure about that. Lego has had to clearance out the past couple of WV sets post-Christmas. I think that they hit a sweet spot with $70 Santa's Workshop.

    They still sold well pre-Xmas, and it makes sense to get rid of seasonal stock that is already in stores / distribution chain rather than having it sitting unsold but costing storage space.

    And they did NOT discount WVM last year and it sold just fine.

    Lol why do you need to see that to come to that conclusion ? What other food is made from chicken, pork, and beef but tastes unlike any of the ingredients ? :D

    I think a pretty good example of no discounts hurting the sale of the WV sets will be seeing what the WVM does. It has not been disocunted in its time out and will need to see if it goes the same time like the previous sets that EOL'd (before Christmas)

    ^WVM will be an interesting study, since it is a collection of smaller structures, and not a main structure, it is different from the other WV sets. It's my least favorite of the bunch. There will be many factors that affect its aftermarket value.

    Out of morbid curiosity, I once clicked a youtube video on the production of hot dogs. I would rather eat a Lego hot dog than a real one any day. More nutritional too...

    ^There's always veggie dogs. Morningstar ones are pretty good, and taste fairly similar to real ones from what I remember. Other brands I've tried are not that good.

    Well, it appears that the seasonal Lego Snowman #40093 is basically gone. The other seasonal sets will start to follow suit, so get them now if you're interested.

    The Lego Snowman #40093 moved from "call for availability" to "sold out." My wife's not a huge Lego fan and she had to have the Reindeer set #40092, so I expect it to be next to go...FYI.

    These little animal character sets have been a lot of fun this year. So far I've bought at least one of each with the most recent batch getting 2 or 3 of each. I probably should have purchased 10 or more of them and sold them as a holiday set next year. I think they will easily double or triple in price especially as a set.

    Regardless, I've had fun building them with my little girl.

    Do you mean the Friends ones, or the mixels. For both, I don't see later sets doing so well. Series 1 will be the ones for profit. Although given the low price but bulky packet, much of the price will go on postage.

    I wonder if they just decided to cut back on production with those. In years past, they were ALWAYS clearanced post-holiday for a nice grab. Now, these seems to frequently sell-out prior to the holiday.

    I think if it is Christmas, it sells, sells a lot, and sells out quickly. Just like the creator Trimming the tree, and Santa's sled polybags were last year.

    Yep...the past couple of years you've needed to grab the Christmas sets quickly if you wanted one. Looks like this year will be no different. I grabbed the sets I wanted during the October double VIP points sale knowing they would likely not be around for the BF sale.

    Additionally, the second giveaway set (the Skating Rink) doesn't really go with Santa's Workshop. If it did, then it would be important for TLG to have Santa's Workshop available for the BF sale. As it stands, it doesn't need to be and that could be a telling sign that Santa's Workshop may also be gone fairly quickly this year. Just thinking out loud...

    Agreed. They have been available around $160 quite a bit as of recent, and I think they were even around $120 a bit last year during the 41999 fiasco. On top of that, 41999 is a better set in my opinion, and will probably keep the price down to some extent. I think it will definitely be a slow riser, not breaking the $300 threshold for awhile.
