I searched but didn't find a thread dedicated to this though I know I read some rumoured set names somewhere. Avengers Tower was one I think, as well as the rumoured UCS Helicarrier. Anyone got a link to those?
Anyway, I just watched the teaser trailer for Age of Ultron and it looks EPIC!
I loved the dark tone which was emphasised by the eerie music ("I got no strings..."). I hope we get a decent Ultron minifigure because he looks great. Plus of course Hulkbuster :-)
I can't wait for us to get images of the sets we'll be getting for this theme (mainly for the minifigs it must be said).
Until we do, what are others' thoughts on the trailer? What are the latest set rumours?

UCS Helicarrier, please tell me this is true and really coming!
We'll get Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch minifigs!
We'll get a new Hawkeye variant that is closer to his comic version!
I hope the Hulkbuster Suit is a maxifig and not brick-built!
Ultron and his Ultron-goons might look too similar to each other in fig form.
The trailer has me wondering what the heck is wrong with Bruce Banner, a case of Ebola giving him upset stomach? And I thought Spader's voice as Ultron was too normal and human-like, that it should have been more electronic. Heck even Bane had a cooler voice through the respirator in TDKR. I want to see Widow's early pre-spy life, possibly as a ballerina in training?
There was a list of supposed sets doing the rounds but anywhere I've seen it posted was just people linking other forums etc - which I'm not about to start doing too.
While i remain sceptical on any rumours until theres any official announcement i can see the logic in a UCS Helicarrier, if I were coordinating Marvel's merchandise I'd be looking at the UCS Tumbler and asking why there isn't a Marvel equivalent on the shelves, and the Helicarrier is the best MCU content for UCS treatment so far. If anyone is hoping for that Lego Ideas behemoth of a helicarrier I'd be prepared to be disappointed, it's too big in my opinion.
I just hope that Black Widow is in a more affordable set this time, I missed out on the quintjet and she remains the only original avenger I'm missing. I'd also love to see a battle pack, something in the way of two Ultron drones vs two shield agents (hinting at one of them looking like Hill or Coulson, unless we see them with a ucs helicarrier I can't se them getting made otherwise) but I fear that a pipe dream.
I don't know if there's any chance we'll get an MCU version of Nick Fury in these sets, as supposedly he doesn't have a huge role in this new movie. I think SHIELD agents (Maria Hill, Phil Coulson, etc.) were among other characters missing from The Avengers sets, somewhat understandably. I hope we get some characters' alter-egos this time around; we did get a version of Tony Stark in the Iron Man 3 sets, but I'd especially like to see Steve Rogers and Bruce Banner somewhere in the mix this time. And Black Widow needs actual red hair, and not the same mould they've been using for every female character. And Hawkeye needs accurate hair as well.

Sounds incredible. I really hope the licensing deal with Lego carries on throughout Phase 3 so we'd be getting a plethora of new minifigs. I really hope I don't have to wait til 2018 for a Thanos bigfig though...

I hope the Hulkbuster armor is brickbuilt, with insertable Iron Man minifig. I doubt that happens, but it would be the most faithful to the movie.
Actually, Ninjago set #70500 might be a good place to start as a basis for making a Hulkbuster.... might have to give that a go.
I'm hoping for something similar to #76026 Grodd goes bananas as an equivalent, with the building element being the Hulkbuster and maybe a bit of scenery - with the Hulkbuster hopefully looking a darn sight better than that bat mech.
Was also happy to discover a few days ago that Idris Elba will be in Avengers 2. I hope he's not just cameoing, I want a Bifrost Lego set with a Heimdall minifig!
I'll take a small Loki vs Heimdall square-off in the throne room set instead.
As long as Joss doesn't kill off Heimdall. It's the sort of thing he'd do though.
(Off topic but I am currently about halfway through a biography of Joss Whedon (Geek King of the Universe; bought in an Amazon lightning deal) and am completely engrossed in it. I've loved his stuff since the early days of Buffy, though not watched it for a while, and the book is rekindling my love of his work so I'll be a having a Buffy dvd marathon over Christmas, I think. I've got Whedonverse MOC ideas running through my head too so that's another project to add to the list!
Would recommend the book to any Whedon fan, btw)
Actually you could argue some Toy Story sets could be part of the Whedonverse already. Love to see some classic Buffy sets, that would be awsome.
Apologies for going way, way off topic there, so ummm... age of Ultron sets will be great.
I'm definitely tempted to do some classic Buffy scenes in Lego. It's funny, reading about Joss and how he writes these amazing strong female characters made me realise that pretty much all my moc plans are based on female characters too - really would be a nice overarching theme as and when I actually get some of them built!
I haven't seen Dollhouse, is it any good?
Might take a punt and buy the DVD just to see what it's like.
Just got up to Firefly being cancelled in the book :'(
Iron Man vs Ultron (76029) – €14.99, 90 pieces
Hydra Avengers Showdown (76030) – €24.99, 220 pieces
The Hulkbuster Smash (76031) – €34.99, 248 pieces
Avengers Quinjet City Chase (76032) – €84.99, 722 pieces
Attack on Avengers Tower (76038) – €74.99, 511 pieces
I'm calling Cap in the HYDRA set, maybe Strucker and one of the twins (I'd be shocked if they put them both in the same set as that would defy LEGO logic).
If the quinjet set is good enough, maybe I won't go out of my way to make a modified one based on the Avengers out of the old set.
There are just too many Heroes and villains that would be awesome to have but will likely otherwise never happen because sets are already filled with yet another Ironman, Batman, Captain America, ect.
Marvel or DC- I don't care
A set of each in a year would be best obviously and I would be way way way more interested in this then yet another Simpsons set I don't care one bit about
Hell, they could blow a whole line on just the Green (and other color) Lantern Corps or (more in line with the original topic) X-Men, Avengers other then the big 5 or 6, or simply all villains
Then there are characters that will be in films that are not child friendly despite having comic/cartoon versions that are child friendly.
The big thing on those superhero CMF lines that a lot of people (myself included) would love is that pesky old licensing agreement. We don't know what TLG are ALLOWED to do within these agreements. Personally I'd love it if they could alternate CMF lines to Standard then licenced etc but in the mean time I'm just going to be happy with all the new mini figures we know are coming our way!
As for licensing I think the X-Men sets show that (at least that sub-theme) do have the ability to be drawn from the comics and not specific films or television
And DC seems to have an even looser set of standards then that- a lot more non-film sets that is.
It could work
And it's not just because I want a Howard the Duck fig so bad for some reason
I would love some comic based marvel Figs but I can see why Lego would release a new Iron Man to tie in with avengers 2 over wonderman, another long standing avenger but someone who has yet to appear on film.
The positive is that with the ever increasing roster of movie superheroes we can expect an ever increasing roster of lego superheroes. It probably won't be long until there are Black Panther and Dr Strange figures for example.
Bob
Totally need this. Along with the bad guy from the movie (principle from Ferris Bueller) with a snake coming out of his mouth!
Really Lego is just being lazy taking this long
Guardians has been out for half a year already
Ha!
#76036: Carnage's Shield Sky Attack
#76037: Rhino and Sandman Supervillain Team
#76038: Marvel's Ant-Man
And UCS Helicarrier RRP is... $349.99!!! *ouch*
