    I'm building #10243 Parisian Restaurant. It's my first modular. I got through the first "bag" last night and I'm looking forward to getting the walls of the first floor up tonight. While clever, the patio was a bit tedious. Otherwise, the build is great and it looks fantastic. I must admit I peeked ahead in the instructions; the second "bag" looks like a lot of fun.

    Not for the purist, but I BrickLinked the #10129 Snowspeeder.

    While the 2 obvious changes are orange replaced by yellow and trans-black replaced by trans-light-blue, all the light and dark old grays have also been replaced by the new Light and Dark Bluish Grays.

    A few other minor substitutions had to be made as some old gray pieces are not available in new gray, but overall the result is very pleasing.

    Started building our Halloween display last night with the wife. We got carried away and built the entire Haunted House. It was hard going at first from the big pile of bricks (it was dismantled from last year but we didn't sort it). We ended up finishing up just before 1 in the morning. Shame no chance of a lie in with the little one calling out at 6am. I need more sleep!

    Love the haunted house. Looking forward to building the rest of the monster fighters sets. I need to start thinking about making some scenery as well.

    Bricklinked $7 in parts to build #6975 Alien Avenger & #6899 Nebula Outpost. My last haul is still paying off.

    From a BL seller across town (whose splash page prides themselves on quick shipping) so I should get them very soon.

    After watching it sit in the closet for 18 months waiting for just the right time, my 6-year-old and I started the Haunted House during a rainy Sunday afternoon. Got the first floor done and will continue through the week. I am enjoying it quite a bit so far!

    My daughter and I just finished our Mixer yesterday, then went to the Lego room to start building more "stuff" for the fair. I built a large "FAIR" sign and she built some picnic tables and a hot dog concession stand. Tonight I am going to make a carnival game booth of some sort. (Now I need to buy the Winter Village Market for the Carousel for the fair.)

    Just rebuilt the #10228 Haunted House for Halloween. I'll be putting together the rest of the Monster Fighters line (except The Zombies and the actual Monster Fighter vehicles) over the next week or so too.

    Adding 2 floors to the GE (from the 2nd GE I had lying around), then re-purposing the spare 1st floor leftover into another building some time in the future.

    I'm designing/building/waiting for parts to build a modification of the classic Cafe Corner Modular. It's going to have a jazzy coffee shop with a small stage on the first floor and apartments on the two upper floors. I missed this set, so it will be nice to add something like it with my own twist to my modular layout.

    Kevin didn't put in the link to purchase the instructions. ;-) I wasn't tempted by the Dutchman before, but your photo above shows off the build better (IMHO). The green of the sails is very different from the web site. Oh dear, now I'm tempted and I already used all my brown up on the Golden Hall.

    Thanks for the comments on my Flying Dutchman. I will most likely start another thread with more photos, for a better look at it overall…but yes, the sails photograph very differently depending the light situation. They are darker in real life, than how they seem to come out when photographed. My site has them lit under natural daylight (outdoors afternoon), but with photoshop filters for the rough seas fx, and the shot on my desk is just lit with LED desk lights, as it sits everyday. Keep in mind the sails are real cloth, with a paint/wash stain on them..so you could actually use a gray/ or black wash …or even a darker green color, to add additional color to them, if you felt inclined to make changes!

    Just built the Vampyre castle #9468 with the wife tonight. It's such a great set. I love all the little details and play features. Made even more sweat that I got this at 50% off! Teach bargain when they used to stock large sets around Christmas.

    @KevBrickstruct‌ The boat is nice and all but that Gem with Big Al on the Balcony is the most awesome LEGO thing I've seen in a long time! Are there any more pictures of that build around?

    Table for my Lego Layout! As shown, it's 6x12 as that is all that will fit in the bonus room. (Pardon the rest of the mess). I also built two 2x3 wings for when I drag the whole set-up to a local show so the final configuration will be 12x9 with a 3x8 hole in the middle.

    I am in the process of building a shed to actually store my Lego and make my framed pieces that I sell to fund the hobby. :)

    Going to photograph and possibly post the whole project once its done.

    Hi TheBrickladd, I did this too…a few years back. I bought a large shed from Home Depot, and converted it into my Lego Brickstruct studio. I went all out. I poured a concrete foundation to set it on, and ran electrical, insulated, paneled, painted, built shelves, etc. Took me around 8 months start to finish. Talk about a great Man Cave. I could go in and work for hours, leave a mess, and lock the door and leave without having to worry about things going missing. (kids and all) You can't see it from the first two shots, but just to the right of picture 2 is a window, with pull down shades, and the wall I'm up against, behind me , also had a window and roof had a skylight, so it wasn't too dark. Unfortunately, I could not take it with me when I moved…just everything inside it. Here is a shot from a few feet inside:

    This implies you could lock your kids in there without worrying if they would go missing. What kinda neighbourhood do you live in? ;-)

    Built the Rebel's Ghost and that was decent build experience (non-descript frame building until the last 1/4 where the exterior is realized). The completed ship being quite nice to look at and hold in 'wooshing' fashion (But less impressive than the 7965 Falcon IMO).

    However, once the Phantom was built (very quick and ho-hum build experience) and combined with the Ghost. Oh boy is that a nice finished ship in the end! It is rare that we get this type of combo build. With the final piece much greater than the sum of its parts.

    Ha, um no, I meant Kids going in and messing about without permission, or unsupervised. (Or God forbid , a vacuum cleaner being turned on.) No need to lock the shed door, it's only Lego, what kid wants to go in there and play with those. I might have locked myself in there however. ;)

    ^^ Is it anywhere near the scale of 7965? From the pictures it looks small to me.

    It is smaller in diameter by say 20%. But it sits taller and not so pancake flat like the Falcon.

    A year after picking it up, I finally built my haunted house over the past few nights (seems like a popular project right now). So happy I have a copy of this set.
