So its not long to go until the Great Western Brick Show down at the STEAM museum in Swindon. Tickets are now available to purchase in advance.

http://www.greatwesternbrickshow.com/about-the-show/ticket-prices/

The price seems to be the wrong way round on the site but when you go through to the booking site it seems to work.

Yes I'll be there. The events are mounting up this year. The Fairy Bricks team has a very Brickset feel to it with myself @cheshirecat @StormKitty‌ and @Shib‌ there both days, then @LostInTranslation‌ helping Saturday and @kempo81‌ on Sunday.

A last minute addition is @caperberry‌ who will be assisting me during breaks because I don't like taking them alone ;-) Star Prize with us will be a Simpson House :-)

Well with a bigger team we can at least consider them.... It looks like it's @StormKitty‌ on the mosaic with you and believe me, that kitten has claws if she doesn't get fed!

The only reason @SirKevbags‌ can go so long between cigarette breaks is that his beard traps the vapours ;)

Which stand will you be at? I'm always up for freebies! :)

I see all of these cool conventions happening in the states and UK. I feel like an outcast out here in Canada. No brick conventions for us. :P

You could always organise one yourself @bobabricks‌ ...I don't think I'd fancy it myself but could be very rewarding.

We'll be there with the Minifigs. Our table has the yellow table cloth. Hoping to give fairybricks a hand too, though might be better lending out my nephew to you Kev!

He would be handy for folding tickets. I hate doing that! Send him over. STEAM should mark the first appearance of the LEGO built ticket spinner. May not be the final version, more a work in progress!

I'll be there on the Saturday, and hopefully have a better chance of putting more faces to nicknames than I did last year. I couldn't make it last year as I had to look after someone who thoughtlessly decided to get kidney stones!

I'll be there both days, but not exhibiting. I don;t seem to find the time or creative impetus to get building these days so I'll be manning the Blocks magazine stand which, you may have read on the show website, will be selling special editions of the pilot issue and accepting subscriptions.

I'll be there again Saturday this year but Sadly my son doesn't want to come with me Shame really, but at least I won't have anyone to blabbing to my missus how much I have spent on Lego and I'll be able to take my secret stash with me to buy even more stuff Been watching the "Capital of an Empire - London 1875" slowly come together via Flickr and I think it may out do last years Tigelfah from what I've seen Also really looking forward to TechnicNick's Georgian Town House Picking up a copy of Blocks from Huw Getting Peter to sign my Exo-Suit box and of course meeting up with everyone from the forum I'll bring last years name tag !! See you all there

Just bought my Sunday ticket! I'm going! Huzzah! :-D

By the bye, last year someone (was it @Huw? I'm really sorry I can't remember, it's been one heck of an Annus Horriblis) very kindly produced badges for Brickset-affiliated attendees to wear, to help us recognise each other. Is there any chance of that happening again?

I won't be able to make it this year I am afraid.
I got a fishing trip week end planned in the middle of Sweden with 6 other friends.

I had such a nice time last year meeting you all.
I wish you all that can attend a great and enjoyable time!

one tip, do not follow @kempo81 in the streets of Swindon in the evening...

Sunday for me this year as well, I'm really looking forward to perusing the wonderful creations, meeting the fantastically talented builders and other bricksetters, and if there's anything left in the market place I might be tempted to part with a quid or two :-)

Been ages since I've been on here glad I got back on here in time to see this, not too far from where I live. Can enjoy 2 hobbies at once with trains and Lego as well, excellent.
    Most likely be the Saturday.

I can't wait for this - I've been looking at the WIP photos for the London 1875 display, which looks every bit as amazing as the Medieval layout was last year.

Steam newb here, first one for me as well. Booking my tickets on payday. Is there much difference on the days can't really tell from the website? Undecided and free the whole weekend.

  • CapnRex101CapnRex101 Administrator Posts: 2,364
^ There is generally not much difference although I believe Sunday is generally a bit quieter.

I am still trying to work out the logistics of attending although it is looking increasingly unlikely that I will make it. I have my fingers firmly crossed!

Not too lat but I'll be collating the names now and printing them off over the weekend, so after this message has been posted it will be...
