  In the description they use the phrase "everything started out as new" - I get what they mean but my first response to that comment was 'well, duh!'

  I reported a couple of the items to ebay and contacted them to tell them all their figures were fakes/ mis described and that they may want to relist them with a more appropriate description. No reply as yet though.

  Wow, that is a very nice space shuttle model! And located in the US, too. At least it is genuine and not a rip off like so many other listings. I think it belongs in a NASA visitors facility or a place where lots of folks can see it rather than in someone's play room.

  Hubby bought this one when it came out, and we built it back then. The box is huge! Nice set, but extremely rare. Not sure what to do with ours because it takes up so much space.

  I don't know if there's something wrong with me or not, but I just don't get very excited about large, monolithic models like that. The appeal of Lego is how it can be used in innovative and clever ways to represent complex and intricate structures. On such a large scale, the build becomes necessarily regular and repetitive, to the point where the 'structure' behind the model isn't that interesting. It's just a pile of bricks that looks like the Space Shuttle. If I bought it, I'd break it down and sell the parts on bricklink.
