    i must of just missed a really good clearance sale at the closest target to us. Only a couple star war sets and lego friends sets on the end caps but that was it.

    For those missing out on the really good clearance sales at target(including me), target online currently has the all but retired #79111 constitution chase train for $69.99 with free shipping. Further 5% savings with redcard or shopdiscover is possible for this MSRP $99.99 set.

    Checking toysrus to see if they still had this in stock I typed in "Lego Constitution" The search returned:

    "Your search for "lego constitution" returned 0 results.
    Did You Mean: lego constipation"

    Our target has oodles of #70400 for ~$4.9x - and that's about it for clearance other than a couple of Nijago sets at 30% off.

    Thats not bad for those who missed out on the train at all, you figure the way Target charges for shipping that actually makes it more around lower 60's, then the 5% with Target card gets it to near the lowest sales prices anyway.

    Just picked up Cargo Terminal at Target last night. Marked down 50% to $50. Box was beat up and broken open from both sides. Bag #6 was opened. Brought it to register and asked to speak with manager knowing I'd likely get a 10% discount which I'd walk away from so I asked for 25% and got 20% so I bought it with my red card and got a $108 set for about $42.60 after tax.

    Best part is I built it this morning and it was 100% complete!

    Correct @starwarfan77‌. Tax of just below 9% would bring a $100 set to $108.

    Target has Dol Guldur Battle for $51 online and it is not listed as clearance so I priced matched it at Toys R Us (since I have never seen one in store at Target. Considering with the Toys R us upcharge this was 79.99 I got a really good deal on this.

    @dannyrww‌ I'm curious, why didn't you just order it from Target? It would have been free shipping at over $50. Unless you have had issues with Target shipping, I'd have just gone the order online route instead of messing with Toys R Us and price matching. (That being said, I know there are potentially good reasons... Toys R Us Credit Card, gift cards, reward points, etc...)

    Quicker gratification :D...I had some left over cash after after a tax refund check was cashed so it was easier than putting it onto a credit card and then ordering it. Never been a big fan of ordering things online (last set I ordered from Target got a little crushed in the mail, no damage). Added bonus I earned five dollars in rewards at Toys R Us fromt heir reward program. Over all though I prfer buying from Target though.

    Besides there is always the pleasure of the looks on their faces when you get $30 off their overpriced products (I kid. I have very close friendships with many of the people at our Toys R US from participating in the various events at the store).

    I actually got pretty lucky at TRU this week. They have been having their big clearance sale and I found a couple older sets on the shelf with no price tags....
    #4644 City Marina .... $8.25
    #4202 mining truck .... $6.00
    #7929 Cargo Train ....$110
    They weren't marked and I found them at two different TRU stores.

    Do they have them built and on display? I really want to see the new AT-AT to see if it's worth paying retail. As well as the Cantina.
    The AT-AT box will blow you away with its small size. Never have seen an 1,100-piece set in such a small box (minus the basic brick ones).
    Actually the box isn't that small. It's dimensions are about the same as the Galactic Titan but about 3/4" thinner. Weight is about the same too. They're just packing bricks more tightly in. Nothing to be blown away about.

    ^ I saw the box the other day at TRU after people mentioning how small it was and I didn't get that impression. It isn't overly small it is just smaller than what they might have used in the past. Still bigger than most of the other sets on the shelf.

    Iron Man Extremis battle was $5.xx at our store, but I missed out on it. I got Battle of Smallville for $14.xx, but I didn't make it out to the other, bigger store today. Oh, well.

    I wish I could find these types of deals. The Targets around me(Cincinnati, Ohio) never have clearance Lego...unless there is one I'm missing.

    I got Battle of Smalville for $14.xx and Shedder's Dragon bike for 7.xx. I going to hit up one more tomorrow morning then I'll just wait to the next clearance.

    My store had 6 Gorzan Gorilla Strikers for $14.xx yesterday, and they were wiped out when I went to grab one today. I guess the moral of the lesson is to never leave discounted LEGO lying around. That said, I did pick up two #76006 for $5.98 each after checking another one today.

    I can vouch that there are deals to be found in that area. My wife and I took an overnight trip to the West Chester area around July 4th, and we found clearance deals at both the West Chester and Milford Targets. I know for sure they had Chima Lion Chi Temples & Worriz's Combat Lair at 50% off then. I think I saw a Cragger's Command Ship at Milford, too. Also, I recall a handful of Superman Battle of Smallville sets at 50% off as well.

    I just wish I had a Target close by to where I live in rural, south-central Ohio. I have to drive at least 1.5-2 hours any direction to get to one.

    I have found these at two different Targets. They are not marked clearance...no stickers and they have the normal price on the shelf tag but they ring up on sale.....

    I haven't seen anyone else mentioning them on sale so happy hunting.

    Didn't catch any good regular clearance deals, but was lucky to pick up 2x 8-stud storage bricks ( #5000463-1 ) for $7.56 each. Tag indicated markdown because online only item. Should go great with all those $5 4-stud storage bricks I picked up over the last few months.

    Picked up black zero escape for $5.98. Thanks for posting the deals, it was unmarked and all alone on the shelf.

    Adding this to the other sets for donation to my local children's hospital on behalf of fairy bricks. Just hope I find some more before my USA road trips over.

    Sometimes you have to be persistent when looking, or hit the clearance sales as soon as they start tagging stuff.

    Slappy, it sounds like you are in my neck of the woods. I hate not having a Target nearby. I'm in Southern Ohio around Marietta.

    ^ Right. The tricky part with that is to know when they start tagging. The checkout price does not change to reflect the new level of markdown until it's scanned and tagged, so even though you know that sets are marked to go from 30% off to 50% off on Thursday, if you get there before they tag, they won't ring up at that price.

    today at one of the target, I saw they put out a box of Lego movie mini figure on top the simpsons, and it scan at 3.99 each! that is funny!

    Buzzed through the LEGO section in the Apex NC Target this afternoon and noticed that they reset all their LEGO from the first two rows in electronics/toys pushing them over about three rows and condensing all LEGO into about a row. That is major bad news for LEGO because they are now farther from the front door and have less shelf space. Anyone know what is happening? There were lots of plastic junk toys on the first two rows where LEGO used to be. And no clearance price tags or sets. Ugh!

    Could just be a seasonal change; with Back to School stuff happening, maybe they condensed the toy section for a few weeks. Or maybe people around you just don't buy Lego?

    Our store is giving Lego the same self space, but the Friends sets are given about a quarter more aisle and moved to one aisle over from the other Lego sets. I like the idea of Friends being with Lego and not Barbie just saying

    Yup. I am hoping that Targets resetting LEGO to a smaller space and less prominent aisle is temporary. Target has not had a good year, and I hope that they stay open so that the other brick and mortar stores have some competition. Plus it is much cleaner and has much more helpful employees than WM. It would be nicer if Friends could be found on the LEGO aisle, but that sounds like a lost battle.

    I noticed the reset as well. I have a few theories. Regarding shelf space, they may have moved some of the Lego aisle to the end caps. There may not be less Lego in the store than average; it may just be split into different areas. Regarding moving the Lego aisle away from the front door: I think this is a smart move. Lego is the number one toy brand. It is a destination brand. It does not matter where it is in the store, kids will drag their parents to the Lego aisle. Moving it further from the door means that more stuff will be bought on the way to the Lego aisle. Kids want Lego. Parents make impulse purchases. Target makes money.

    I went ahead and ordered a couple of the Dragon Mountain #70403 sets. I hadn't noticed them before and found them in the process of trying to locate some specific pieces (contained in the DM set). I think that's a pretty sweet set and could resist at 20% off with free shipping online.

    Our entire toy section was rearranged. Lego occupy roughly the same amount of space, but they seem to be utilizing the space better if that makes any sense.

    Even with Target having an off year, I am not under the impression that they are in ANY danger of going out of business. KMart / Sears, yes, but Target is still a solid company.

    Target isn't going anywhere. Everyone is having data breaches nowadays. It's just a matter of time before it happens to Walmart. While I don't like to see any major retailer go out of business, I wouldn't miss Walmart as much as Target. Only Kmart is worse. I have no idea how they are still in business.

    I have been told that many Kmart stores are still in business because they are often older and the company signed really long leases at really low prices relative to what current retail space goes for. I would be curious if this is accurate and what the difference in pricing is. I know a Walgreens in my area pays $30K / month in lease so I can only imagine what a store the size of Kmart should be relatively speaking.

    bulk of their sales are probably appliances and caters to older generation?

    have you looked at the dress selection its definitely targeting certain segment of population.

    their shoes sales are perhaps the best I can find :D. rockport shoes for buy one get one for $1. :) .. i love two pairs for $30 plus $5 off :P LOL ... brings total down to $25... cheapest i have seen them is @ costco for $45 :) so there you go :) .. this might be the reason they are around or they should have been out of business :) either way .. consumer are clearly winning... when there is decent competition...

    Not to go too far afield with this discussion, but you can't look at the rent that a Walgreens (or CVS or Rite Aid) pays for a particular location as a fair reflection of the market rents for commercial space in a given area. The business model that chain drug stores use for their real estate acquisition is fundamentally different than most other businesses other. I have seen instances where Walgreens was at $35/sf per year while a business one door down was at $11/sf per year.

    I don't know anything about Kmart / Sears leases, but I know that they manage a lot of property, and a lot of it is for sale ( http://www.shcrealty.com/ ). They have also started leasing space within their stores:

    Didn't want to start a new thread...but stopped into my 2 Targets today and they had new clearance LEGO out. One store had 30% off and the other had 50% off.

    #60057 Camper Van $13.xx......found at 1 store
    #60047 Police Station $54.xx......found at both stores...$54 and $75
    #60060 Auto Transport $20.xx.....found only at 1 store
