Anyone else notice how this story mentions 5 exclusives? Do you think that its just because they could be counting Cutesykitty and Cheerykitty as two? Hopefully re-sellers will use this logic too and so make Batman and The Collector half the price of the dual personality Unikitty :-D

Yes, it's just the exclusive items, and good, I'm glad it looks complete.
  • Steve_J_OMSteve_J_OM Member Posts: 995

Yes it's very source accurate, down to the stubble. And I'm liking the personalized packaging. Wonder what The Collector's package looks like.

I don't see the stubble in the packed one.
I guess it's a double-sided head; perhaps a bit irritating for anyone who wants to keep it MISB, as I'd certainly want the stubble side facing outward. But then again, if you manage to get one you don't deserve to complain about such small problems :)

Considering it's not sealed, that's hardly an issue.

But...but...no Bat radia! And no Bat-might!

    Zur En Arrh Batman

I wonder if the Space Batman pictured in the poster will be in a future set or promo?

The packed one is quite odd. Other than the stubble-less face, it also has a regular shaped cape instead of the pointy version Batman figs usually have.

Dammit. I was hoping the Zur En Arrh would come about some other way. That should be a pretty sweet fig, though.

I very strongly doubt that this minifigure would have ever have been released any other way. There are so many less obscure characters that would be a higher priority for the LEGO Group, and by the time they got through that list it'd probably be time for a new Batgirl or Aquaman.

Frankly I had never heard of this character before, and even looking at it now it's hard to believe this was an official color. Who in the world thought those colors were a good idea? Even for a weird alien Batman. I strongly doubt any kid would understand what this costume is supposed to represent, so releasing it as an SDCC fig is probably the best possible scenario for this fig to be released.
It's the Batman from an integral portion of Grant Morrison's Bat-epic, and it's just so bizarre that it's amazing. If you haven't read that arc, I highly recommend it. Again, it's nuts, but it's great. I try not to spend a lot on minifigs, but I might have to go after this one.
I don't read a lot of superhero comics, actually — most of my superhero knowledge comes from Wikipedia. It's something I should address! :P

Generally, I think the figs you see in sets are most likely to be characters who are most familiar to kids and casual fans. So mostly ones who show up prominently in superhero movies and cartoons. This is why I like it when the SDCC exclusive figs are characters like this. It serves as an opportunity to release a character who probably wouldn't get released in any physical form otherwise. I can see people getting much more upset about The Collector or Bard the Bowman being exclusive, because those are major characters in their respective media.

Cuteskitty/Cheerkitty, not quite so much, because as awesome as she is, it's just a couple alternate expressions out of many that she wears throughout the movie. It's not really a different character, or even a different form or costume for the character, just a different mood. Though if I were to try and get any of these exclusive figs, that would still be the one I'd be most interested in!

I'm going to take a guess that those cannons on the Wookie ship are super stud shooters. :D Get ready for a world of fun (pain) parents! :P

It's not? I thought the newer SDCC exclusives like Green Arrow were in sealed boxes based on the images.
  • bobabricksbobabricks Member Posts: 1,842
    @Steve_J_OM Sometimes it's packaged, sometimes it's not.
  • Brick_ObsessionBrick_Obsession Member Posts: 656
All the 2013 exclusives were packaged just like the Zur En Arrh is.

I have them all and that is the way they came. The ones from the previous years had a brick glued to the card.
  • samiam391samiam391 Member Posts: 4,492
@Steve_J_OM‌ - they are not sealed boxes. It's a plastic casing that can be opened and closed very easily along the top line. It 'snaps' shut when you close it. It is not glued nor sealed.

New GL and Sinestro? YES!!!!!!!!! And I thought it was aliens stealing thoughts from my brain at night. Nope, it has been LEGO all along. ;-)

    That GL set looks awesome!
  • BrickDancerBrickDancer Member Posts: 3,639
Exactly @vwong19! It hurt to know that my GL is locked behind closed frames and to never interact with the rest of the JL team. But this fixes it completely and I must say that this version may even be superior with the more elaborate print and printed legs. Even his face mask has shadowing with 2 colors.

Then they provide a Sinestro fig!?! Lego is on a hot streak for SH characters right now. Can't wait to get them all in my hands.

I am absolutely delighted to see a set like this finally released. I own the SDCC exclusive Green Lantern but I prefer the comic book edition, and am glad to see that he has finally made it into a set. Space Batman and Sinestro are just brilliant bonuses!

    Another brilliant (presumably) £19.99 set.

Man, that Space Set is a must-have. We'll finally have a Pre-52 Justice League, and with Sinestro and Luthor, we'll get the makings of a pretty good group of baddies, too.
  • AanchirAanchir Member Posts: 3,037
Something I ought to point out: We now know that the Green Lantern in this picture will be in next year's sets. The Batman in that picture probably will too, since he shares the same cowl mold as Space Batman. Think we might be able to expect the Wonder Woman in that picture too? She notably has silver where the current version has gold, and wears pants instead of just a swimsuit.

I now want a Cyborg, as many Batman villains as we can get and I will be happy. The Batman and Wonder Woman referred to by @Aanchir would be a real treat though.

^^ Nice find! So far LEGO has made or will be releasing everything from the Batman posters series. I'd say there's a good chance that those are new 2015 Wonder Woman & Batman fig designs. At least I hope so, because I'm really digging that WW fig.
  • bobabricksbobabricks Member Posts: 1,842
I don't really like that space Batman cowl (showed in @Aanchir's link) being the new normal. I think the 2013 one was perfect

So glad the that Green Lattern will be will different that the original. A win win for those who have him and those who still desire him.

So are we done with the exclusives now with regards to Superheroes. Just The Collector and The Zur-En-Arhh.

Good decision lego, about time! My most highly anticipated 2015 set

It does look a bit odd, compared to what we are used to.

I think the cowl is fine in context of a spacesuit, but if they do one in black it'll look more like Wildcat's cowl than batmans.

I should probably be posting this in marketplace, however anyone going to SDCC is probably in this thread.

So if anyone is at SDCC or going this weekend to SDCC and can pick me up a Batman Classic TV Series Batmobile SDCC037 set.

And then post to the UK then please send me a PM

I can trade or buy outright, we will sort a deal I am sure.

Looks like there is a series of comics which can be picked up at SDCC. I don't know much else about these (just saw them listed on eBay). I'm interested in a copy of each if anyone is willing and easily able to get these. I'm not sure if/how these are related to the Paul Lee comic.

Lol I think you underestimate people and how they like to waste money...the Azog SDCC figure still sells for like $400-500 and it was released in a regular set.

Im just hoping the Rocket Warbird ends up being around what the price of the Hobbit SDCC set is/was.
  • AdeelZubairAdeelZubair Member Posts: 2,703
That also be a Lego employee at San Diego Comic Con; but honestly I cannot see a Lego employee at Comic Con taking a picture of The Collector minifigure stock whilst working in a hectic environment taking a break and uploading a picture with a tag of "Lol" If so Lego have got a dopey employee.
  • ShibShib Member Posts: 5,469
I love how varied a crowd we AFOLs are, those that react to the announcement of a $130 set by saying how overpriced it is, then those that will sped a couple of hundred $ on a single mini figure because its an exclusive. Takes all sorts.

Im more than happy to shell out, but this years exclusives. Seem to have there prices hard wired down, yet sellers are hoping to land last years prices. Not gonna happen

Sorry but my first attempt at 5a was an epic failure! eBay is the way to go...
