    Wow the 3D version is $49.99 everywhere except $39.96 at Wal-Mart. I am all for exclusive figs, but that just seems a bit high to me, especially when the regular blu-ray version will probably run about $25.

    Seems high to me also. The figureless 3D version is only £16.50 on Amazon - say $28.

    I'm surprised the Amazon.ca pre-order is cheaper than our American counterpart. It is only $35.99 here.

    The prices will drop by the time the release date rolls around. Amazon will price match Target and Walmart or whoever ends up being the cheapest and with their pre-order guarantee you will wind up getting whatever the best opening week deal is.

    Yeah, same one is at Walmart. Scored mine for 29.96 I think. Way back when it first became available for pre-order

    Does anyone know if there's anything fancy-shmancy added to any UK editions, and if so, from where? UK Amazon currently just lists three standard editions (dvd/blu/3d).

    I think Sainsbury's may be getting the Everything is Awesome edition as an exclusive. I may have read that here.

    ^Sainsbury's had the special edition of The Hobbit with the Legolas polybag but I haven't heard anything of anyone in the UK having the Everything is Awesome edition...I find Sainsbury's getting special editions odd because they have cut back out of the online sales of DVDs in favour of digital distribution, but special editions have more pull to people searching online.

    Misspelling (or pressed post too quickly) of "anywhere else in the UK". That's what the next sentence of the post you quoted explains...

    Can't wait for the DVD release, that's why the July release in the UK is so annoying....

    For those of you who have an iOS device and/or iTunes, you can get the film next Tuesday if you create a US itunes account. It's legal, it's just you have to get a US itunes gift card. The iTunes version costs $15.

    Does anyone know if the US Blu-ray will be region free? Amazon doesn't seem to give the information. I'd be tempted to import it instead of waiting for July if that's the case.

    The US blurays are now mostly region free, although not always advertised. I have ordered from the US and am hoping it is in this case :)

    ^ I doubt that would stop Amazon from doing pre-orders. Would likely just shift the availability date out.

    Are there no current plans to release the full movie on Bluray 3D? The only mention of 3D is in the bonus mini-movie.

    I'm getting the impression that this is like Disney's Frozen which was going to be released in full 3D Bluray, but was then pulled (probably in an attempt to get people to buy two versions of the movie when a 3D version is released later this fall).

    I'm disappointed that a full 3D version is not being released with the regular Bluray/DVD release. I will probably just wait until a 3D version is announced.

    I'm not seeing anywhere that a 3D Disc is NOT included. It even says it on the box.

    I kind of wish my family had a 3D TV. Some movies still use 3D in a gimmicky way, but others use it very artfully (Hugo is a great example, as is Coraline), and I've become quite fond of watching movies in 3D now that the format seems to have mostly evolved beyond the gimmicky "theme park attraction" stage.

    What I love about my 3D television is that you can take in all the action. Big screen 3D movies tend to be so large; there is too much see all at once.

    @klaatu003 If i recall correctly, I didn't bother with an avatar at first (I believe I uploaded it the day before those little default faces were implemented, whenever that was). It was just something I had on my computer and was meant only as a quick place-holder until i could think of something better. However, the effect (in unifying my posts to a single recognised voice) was both so immediate and efficacious it seemed wrong to change it.
    As to the image itself, it was probably from a site called gaffaweb. (I'm not sure where your search took you, hope it wasn't disturbing!). I've always been a bit of a KateBush fan since childhood, so when i was internet-enabled (many years ago) it was naturally one of the earliest searches i did (that and Fighting Fantasy books).

    As for scrambling brains... it does, doesn't it? ...Mwah-ha-hah-Hah-HAAAAH.

    We just bought a 50" TV that has 3D enabled features. But I don't want to spend $150 on a 3D Blu Ray player for a fad that might disappear soon.

    I hope I can stick the 3D LEGO Movie disc into a regular Blu Ray player and just watch it in 2D...

    The 3D disc is a separate disc from what I gathered, although, some 3D discs have to option to watch in 2D or 3D. I think my Rio disc had that feature.

    I have a 65" 3D TV and I have watched a ton of 3D movies from HBO and Starzz. No player required :) My good friend bought me my Panasonic 3D BluRay player along with the Star Wars BluRay collection. What a great friend :)

    The introduction of 3D sets from the beginning were a gimmick. These sets were pushed out to public being advertised as being the best experience one can watch a show or event in 3D format while sitting on your couch. Whether being an active or passive 3D TV set, it still sucked viewing them.....plus the extra cost buying them.

    There's a market for them, but for the majority of TV buyers, skip the 3D option until it's ready for prime time.

    ^I agree, there is nothing like going to the movies, but I prefer watching at home. My 3D experience has been great so far except for Clash of the Titans. The remake was good, but the 3D was God awful. The animated movies seem to be way better viewing in 3D. They areccrystal clear...or maybe I have bad eyes (refer to avatar pic ). :)

    My BluRay player claims to convert 2D omovies to 3D, but I only tried it with the movie Aliens and it just added depth.

    The first 3D movie I remember seeing was one of the Friday the 13th movies back in the early 80s. That was such a cool experience...and now, it seems so lame with the advances in technology.
