Hi guys/girls a complete newbie to collecting, had loads of sets as a kid as time went I wanted different things and the lego moved around the house eventually ending up in attic then going to a new home :( now after spending the weekend with my nephew playing/making lego I completely forgot how fun and exciting it was to see a set completely made and seeing my nephews face light up, now I know what looked like at his age.... Now I'm looking to get back in to collecting I've recently purchased the Star Wars mini figure sets 750032 x wing fighter and 75031 interceptor. (I'm a Star Wars nut)
Now we all have to start some where and looking on here,eBay and other stockist it's going to take a while to complete a Star Wars collection specially when there are over 500+ mini figures so hopefully joining the forum I'm hoping you guys/girls will be able to help me out when things get difficult so any help will be greatly received
Looking forward to the correspondence
Many thanks in advanced
Lynton

Whatever you decide, best of luck!
I personally have selectively start to collect only iconic sets/vehicles or whatever catches my eye, not only from SW line. Unless you have deep pockets and live in a mansion, impossible to collect every sets there is! But minifigs on the otherhand...these lil things are addictive and awesome...It's a never ending quests collecting minifigs be warned, gotta collect them all! And ebay is your best friend, or trades from trusted members in here. :)
@Lynton82 The microfighters are awesome, gotta get them all! ;)
I got out of the dark ages in 2006. Got into SW line and the other lines as they came. Decided to focus only on the fleshies instead of yellow heads for SW as i figured it'd be too much to track back. Due to space constraints these days, i focus mainly on minifigs, miniships and selected iconic sets.
My minifig collection is roughly...
SW: 70% up to date (fleshies only)
SUPERHEROES: 70% up to date (2012 Onwards)
LOTR/HOBBIT: 90%
INDY: 90%
TLR: 100%
POP: 100%
HP: 100% (fleshies only)
NINJAGO: 50% (ninjas only)
CMFs: 80% (sans Mr Gold, might get a good custom vers)
I started collecting Lego when Star Wars sets first came out in 1999. I've since re-bought all my old Classic Space, Town, and Castle sets from my childhood, and generally buy whatever themes interest me (and I still buy the Star Wars sets). As this is most themes, my wallet is usually empty...you've been warned!
I completed my Star Wars collection a while back, but I have now been through with my big magnifier light ensuring that every fig is perfect. You'll know you're a true addict when you spend most of an evening figuring out how to replacing the batteries and releasing the head of a light up Luke Skywalker to swap his frayed cape!
Wow that impressive guys, just want to start off with the easy ones first as I've been looking in to the rare sets and well I think I need to sell the house to buy them, but that's why it's a long term commitment to collecting these amazing set/figures.
Have got all the micro fighters @KLS?
@CHERUBboy have you collected the whole sets or just the mini figures?
That said, there is nothing wrong with buying loose extra figures and parts as you see fit; I bought several extra stormtroopers and other figures to use with an Imperial Troop Transport MOC. I've re-created older sets by buying all the parts and instructions separately, and I count those sets as "owned". I have several thousand parts separate from my sets that I'll use to build some grand space station MOC's "someday". That's the great thing about LEGO: you can define your collection and your rules any way you see fit. As long as you're happy, you're good!
