Since they discontinued to 10% off, it really curbed my spending at the brand stores.
Been meaning to get one, decided to strike with double points available.
I have a feeling it might not be around too much longer.
And I only buy to build not for resale.
I got the flying ice cream machine, flying trash chomper, mini technic backloader, mini technic off roader, the series 4 animals, a PAB order for a small amount of stuff, plus the free friends polybag. Still waiting for the PAB get here.
I got 10 dollars vip and i'm planning on using it towards the summer stuff I want. lego friends series 5 animals, some mixels, and 2 of those lego friends jungle sets.
It's obviously a riddle that will lead us to pirate (sailing ship) treasure/gold (C-3PO).
Who am I kidding? I don't get it either.
I have had my eyes on this for a while :)
I don't sell, just buy for myself and the kids.
"ON YOUR KNEES! Tell me where C-3PO has sailed to with my other pom-pom or the goat gets it"
15% AFOL discount + double points on the rest + three minifigs for free with a coupon from the Easter catalog. (And I'm only just noticing I paid 614 bucks, but they gave me double points for 617 for whatever reason.) Not too shabby.
I would have bought more, but a) they didn't have the Winter Village Market or the Maersk Triple-E, and b) the night before this Amazon's prices plummeted, so I got a dozen sets there instead, like the Mirkwood Elf Army, the Cargo Plane, and almost the entire Princess lineup.
Anyway, I am especially excited about getting the Parisian Restaurant (which already is a bargain at RRP) at what amounts to about 23% off. The Simpsons House and the Cloud Cuckoo Palace are close contenders, both parts-wise and PPP-wise.
Most to the point perhaps, I am now pretty much done with LEGO for this year. Only need to get the next Mixels series now. And the Friends animals, and the Simpsons CMFs. And the WVM, and the next Modular... and Ghostbusters of course. And perhaps a Milano Spaceship here or a Sea Cow there. Oh well, you know how it works.
I'm just wondering if it has to be Star Wars only? I heard of people getting the give a way by not purchasing Star Wars.
What would be interesting is to see just how many recall (without revealing) the meaning of @Matthew's efforts.
Seems those that bought came away with some fantastic sets.
If you think they are expensive now, you are in for a rude awakening my friend :)
I already juggle my "hobby" with one kid in the house and still manage to do ok. I'm helped by the fact that I'm starting to work on MOCs a lot more, so it's easier to build with the parts I have. Of course, the downside to that is most of my LEGO budget gets shifted towards BL so I can get specific parts.
Ended up leaving with MetalBeard's Sea Cow.
At least it was double VIP points, I used 30 bucks I had on my VIP card, 2 bucks store credit lol, and they gave me 500 bonus VIP points cause the box was dented at the top.
(Incidentally I can't help remembering that that one caused a 'ridiculous' amount of trouble last time it was posted - J should get the reference...)
Here are the other two photos, do they jog anyone's memory? The one above is definitely the most cryptic though.
