Just curious since everybody taking advantage of double vip points, what did you buy for personal use not for resale. I bought==

Sydney Opera House 10234

Parisian Restaurant

MetalBeard's Sea Cow

3 Galaxy Squad Swarm Interceptor

which gave me $75.00 not bad, which I was planning to buy these sets this year anyway.

Fierce Flyer #31004 - which might have given me 25 cents

I bought the friends penguin animal pack to get the bakery stand poly.

Since they discontinued to 10% off, it really curbed my spending at the brand stores.

    Got a Parisian restaurant.
Been meaning to get one, decided to strike with double points available.

Haven't bought nothing yet, however, I plan on buying several large sets I don't have tomorrow.

Mom let me do an order for just over 100 dollars for some stuff after I'm having to deal with a bunch of dental related stuff at the moment. 2 things down, 2 to go. *UGH* Got a trifecta of reasons that caused all this.

I got the flying ice cream machine, flying trash chomper, mini technic backloader, mini technic off roader, the series 4 animals, a PAB order for a small amount of stuff, plus the free friends polybag. Still waiting for the PAB get here.

I got 10 dollars vip and i'm planning on using it towards the summer stuff I want. lego friends series 5 animals, some mixels, and 2 of those lego friends jungle sets.

#71006 Simpson's House and #70404 King's Castle. Good timing for x2 VIP points, as I had to wait until my bonus came in to pull the trigger on this purchase; and now it did!

Me neither. Next set on my 'want' list isn't released for another couple of weeks.

Well, let's see. Vader is cheerleading with 1 pompom. There's a goat eating his lightsaber and a minifig is either bowing, crawling or swimming toward him. And, all the while Vader is thinking of C-3PO and a ship.

It's obviously a riddle that will lead us to pirate (sailing ship) treasure/gold (C-3PO).

Who am I kidding? I don't get it either.

    Tower of Orthanc.
I don't sell, just buy for myself and the kids.

The revelation to me from that picture is that there are Lego goats. I did not know this.

I thought it was a caption competition.

Maersk Ship! (Shipping date is May, so I hope everything goes well).
  • SchwallexSchwallex Member Posts: 121
Oh my. I'm not typing that list. A picture is worth a thousand numbers:

    image

15% AFOL discount + double points on the rest + three minifigs for free with a coupon from the Easter catalog. (And I'm only just noticing I paid 614 bucks, but they gave me double points for 617 for whatever reason.) Not too shabby.

I would have bought more, but a) they didn't have the Winter Village Market or the Maersk Triple-E, and b) the night before this Amazon's prices plummeted, so I got a dozen sets there instead, like the Mirkwood Elf Army, the Cargo Plane, and almost the entire Princess lineup.

Anyway, I am especially excited about getting the Parisian Restaurant (which already is a bargain at RRP) at what amounts to about 23% off. The Simpsons House and the Cloud Cuckoo Palace are close contenders, both parts-wise and PPP-wise.

Most to the point perhaps, I am now pretty much done with LEGO for this year. Only need to get the next Mixels series now. And the Friends animals, and the Simpsons CMFs. And the WVM, and the next Modular... and Ghostbusters of course. And perhaps a Milano Spaceship here or a Sea Cow there. Oh well, you know how it works.

I bought Pet Shop, Palace Cinema, and Heart Lake News Van for my daughter. Still thinking about Town Hall and Parisian Restaurant.

I'm going to wait until May The Force to make my next LEGO purchases. It's not double VIP pts, but there's usually a nice minifig involved.

I cheaped out and got two Friends Series 4 bags and the Easter Bunny set. Not exactly thrilling...

^That is my logic. Darth Revan will be a nice addition to my collection. Was it just last year that the B-Wing was 50% off? Surely we won't see something like that this year...or maybe we will :)

I'm just wondering if it has to be Star Wars only? I heard of people getting the give a way by not purchasing Star Wars.

:-) Just goes to show how successful the forum is with how many 'new' members there are. :-)

What would be interesting is to see just how many recall (without revealing) the meaning of @Matthew's efforts.

I remember seeing the lightsaber goat with Mattew, I don't remember the meaning. Did it have something to do with a certain someone from the forum?

I wish I could pick up some stuff, but money is tight right now with a new baby arriving any day. Everything I want right now is too expensive.

Not buying anything. Now that they charge tax it is cheaper to buy elsewhere, even with double VIP. Do need to use a gift card and VIP points though. Guess it can wait.

Seems those that bought came away with some fantastic sets.

I already juggle my "hobby" with one kid in the house and still manage to do ok. I'm helped by the fact that I'm starting to work on MOCs a lot more, so it's easier to build with the parts I have. Of course, the downside to that is most of my LEGO budget gets shifted towards BL so I can get specific parts.

There is nothing that will EOL that I am interested before Oct. I won't have time to build until then anyway. Why keep my money tied up?

Also not sure what your definition of "new" members is. I've been on the forum for 2 years and still have no idea what it is.

I had about $300 in my account cause I just came back from a birthday weekend getaway that I spent way too much money on, checked my email and saw it was the last day, went to the store hoping to spend 20-60 on some super hero sets.
Ended up leaving with MetalBeard's Sea Cow.

At least it was double VIP points, I used 30 bucks I had on my VIP card, 2 bucks store credit lol, and they gave me 500 bonus VIP points cause the box was dented at the top.

I'd forgotten how abysmal those photos were actually, I've got a feeling they may have been edited in MS paint :-)
(Incidentally I can't help remembering that that one caused a 'ridiculous' amount of trouble last time it was posted - J should get the reference...)

Here are the other two photos, do they jog anyone's memory? The one above is definitely the most cryptic though.
