BOGO40 offer covers 37 random sets across Hobbit, Star Wars, City, Ninjago, Super Heroes, Hero Factory, and TLR (which is oddly listed above MSRP)

    Target BOGO

Not sure if that link will work for everyone. if not, just search "Lego" then select "deals" --> "BOGO" on the left nav.

If only I could have combined the #10240 with the Town Hall, I'd have been all over this in a second...

Yeah, if I knew someone locally that wanted an X-Wing, I'd split with them. But not interested in 2 right now for myself.

Tried twice over the past few hours...haven't been able to get the tower. If any here bought two, and only wants the one, I'd be happy to split and pay for shipping to me.

    Thanks

@wrangler6915, based on taxes involved that might not save you much money compared to buying it at [email protected] during double VIP with free shipping next month (9 lbs large package)

Yep, your right...$3 difference! Thanks, I didn't think of the double VIP upcoming
  • scotty12scotty12 United States, IowaMember Posts: 693
With Targets red card taxes were only $3 and free shipping.
  • dougtsdougts Oregon, USAMember Posts: 4,129
$152 each total price. Not too shabby

Even though that comparison doesn't take a Redcard into consideration, it's also assuming you are a fan of VIP points. I have bought so very (very) little from Lego direct in the past year+, those points don't mean nearly to me what they may have in the past.
  • DoubleDDoubleD Oklahoma, USAMember Posts: 488
You still have to pay taxes at lego.com. If you were able to get them at target it should of been a extra 10% off each of them even without a redcard. It was also free shipping at target.
  • ColoradoBricksColoradoBricks Denver, CO, USAMember Posts: 1,642
@doubledbrick, it is not free shipping when @wrangler6915 asked someone who bought two to ship one of them to him.

Taxes are the kicker for that deal, for example, I get sales tax of 7% when buying from target.com and 2.9% from [email protected] (but 6.81% and 9% at the 2 LEGO store within 30 miles from me)
  • JeffHJeffH Member Posts: 173
^ I wonder how [email protected] got so low on the sales tax? Did it only charge state portion of the sales tax without local portion? [email protected] charges full sales tax not just state portion here.
  • ColoradoBricksColoradoBricks Denver, CO, USAMember Posts: 1,642
@JeffH yes, 2.9% is the state portion, I should pay 6% where I live (75% of my zip code is in the 7%, the other 25% in the 6%, I battle it only when it is a big purchase...)
  • JeffHJeffH Member Posts: 173
^ I wish [email protected] only charges state portion here as well instead of full amount but it is already 6.25% just for the state alone. :( It is no brainer for [email protected] for you since you can even lower the RRP price with discover.

Chima, ick, but $26 for the Combat Lair can't be ignored for pieces alone. Also, $11 for the Spider Cycle is an absolute steal.
  • BuriedinBricksBuriedinBricks USAMember Posts: 1,367
Very nice. I'll take another Spider Cycle at that price. I can't resist another copy of #70009 either, even if I still need to break down the first two I picked up.
  • TheLoneTensorTheLoneTensor MericaMember Posts: 3,950
    Spider-man all gone for now.

I parted out 4 of #70009, lot of nice parts for the price, but way too many of those wheels:)
  • chuckpchuckp NYMember Posts: 684
^ That's funny, I bought 3 of the #70009 to part out specifically for the wheels. :)
  • ColoradoBricksColoradoBricks Denver, CO, USAMember Posts: 1,642
@chuckp , if you want more, I have 24 for sale (soon to be 36) I can give you a good price :)

So I was checking daily hoping that Tower of Orthanc and X-Wing will both be in stock at the same time so that I can get the BOGO40... well, good news is that both are in stock, but bad news is that BOGO40 for both no longer available...

On the side note, my theory about the "price match lag" came true again for the Spider-Cycle: After Amazon dropped their price to match Target's sale, Target matched it again, thus lowering the Spider-cycle price to $11.99 + BOGO40 + 5% Redcard... (as I typed this, the Spider-cycle and others just sold out).

In case anyone is interested, the #70008 Gorzan's Gorilla Striker is approx 50% after discounts, when buying two, of course...

  • busumoe1busumoe1 Member Posts: 194
Darn it! Checked Black Gate last night and then this morning... sold out! Anyone who ordered it here? When did Target update the price?
  • starwarfan77starwarfan77 Member Posts: 341
seems like all the deals to be had are gone :( missed on all of these :( .. i miss the
    #10237 and

ahh, did not see they were also on sale for 43.99
  • busumoe1busumoe1 Member Posts: 194
^It was $55 yesterday, and at some point last night, the "Target Price Match Lag" caught up and Target matched Amazon price. I'm guessing others are watching it like I did. Just wanted to know when the price change occur...

Some good deals that are sold out online might be available for store pickup, just got
    2x #60020 for $18.23 each (54% off)
    2x #76003 for $19.75 each (60% off)

#79007 Battle at Black gate is at Amazon right now at $44.20

Wait, the black gate was on sale for ~$44 and BOGO at Target? I did not see that one.

Next to Orthanc, it's a wonderful source of black elements.

The BOGO40%OFF is online only. I tried to get the service desk to apply it before on a similar deal and the clerk said she can't do it. So it may be YMMV, even if one can find the items in store. I think the only way to get the BOGO discount is using in-store pickup option.

  • Thanos75Thanos75 Member Posts: 1,117
Thats what I was trying to do but the store locator wasnt working. It finally worked after several attempts and I'm picking up my sets in a little bit.

I received my 2 #10237 Towers today. Everything looked good....except for the new UPS driver seems to enjoy tempting the neighbors by putting leaving packages outside leaning up against the garage doors. 3 more feet and hit could put them inside.

i got some Smallvilles via store pickup. $20/ea is pretty good for those
  • busumoe1busumoe1 Member Posts: 194

Gorilla Striker matched Amazon. About $20 each for two.

Smallville and a few others have gone up in price.

Well, maybe I'm the exception... but I've been waiting for a good deal on this. There are many good parts in this set.

Picked up a few sets at target yesterday and notice something new at one of the store.. anti thief device on the front of the box. Is that a new trend at target ?
  • KanohiKanohi Member Posts: 41
^ I noticed it first in January I think. It's a real pain to get off too without damaging the box.
