Today is train day, including a nice long cargo train with only one engine pulling(running twin motors) nearly 2 metres long at 176cm. Also have a passenger train with Horizon express carriages (until I get the second half of the horizon express) and Maersk train, it's a big layout too video will be up on YouTube soon enough(look up LamboLavis or just await the link whichever)

So very excited. After waiting almost a month for shipment, all three members of LEGO Star Wars Planet Series 4 arrived today from a Bricklink seller in Romania. My collection is now complete!

I'm convinced LEGO restricts certain sets to geographic regions to encourage after market activity, haha...

I am still trying to furnish the bathrooms in my twelve Duplo playhouses….I guess this means that some of my Dupes won't be able to take a *^%#$^ unless they run next door or get an outhouse. Finally broke down and ordered some necessaries from Australia…kaz is very nice on BL. Major conclusion: It is very difficult and expensive collecting older Duplo if you live outside of Europe.

Am glad I started collecting the pieces five years ago. My Dupes have been homeless for too long. Might be a full scale riot if I don't let them out of their containers soon.

Walked into my Lego room and felt that all to familiar sharp pain in my heel, I quickly hopped to the other foot and cursed myself for being so careless and leaving Lego on the floor. When I looked down, it was a popcorn kernel. What are the odds?

Really p**sed off, opened a brick link order and it stank of smoke. Is this normal or should I complain? Not the greatest experience for a fairly new buyer. :(

Was bored at work this morning and for some reason looked up the Lunar Limo from SPIII. Man, I can't believe I passed on that stuff when it was in stores. After looking closely at them I am now completely taken with them and want the whole line. (Holler if you have some for sale or trade!)

@teamladd Must be something going around. I just had my worst ever bricklink order delivered yesterday. I avoid buying used bricks if I can, but I've never had a problem when I have as Bricklinkers are a pretty good bunch of hobbyists in my opinion and they tend to know what is acceptable to an AFOL.

So bearing that in mind I ordered some white plates - and they turned up just plain awful. Loads of different shades, yellowing, bite and gouge marks. Some were filthy, some had pen marks on them, I haven't a clue what the seller was thinking (and I've bought from them in the past no problem).

Took me a good while to sort them out. About 25% were fit for the bin. The others, well, they're usable, but I probably wouldn't have bought another 25% if I'd seen them.

Anyway, I complained. The seller refunded for the dud parts within an hour so top marks there, but it could have all been avoided in the first place. And now I have to place another order - so more post costs.

    Grrrr!

Well today is another day and another bricklink parcel has arrived! Yay, rips open the packaging and yet again I am overcome by the smell of smoke. I mean seriously @ out of 2 smokey orders isnt great. :(

I have heard back from the first seller and he will refund me some dodgy parts, and also replace the missing parts. I now have to go through and work out which pieces I was missing. Out of 600 hundred parts its a job im not looking forward too!

Thats not good about your order either. If it had been 1 or 2 parts ok, but 25% is quite a lot. :( Glad you had it sorted. I gotta go sort parts out now. Not what I was hoping to do with my evening.

I've also been having some BL issues. Made an order on the 7th, paid on the 8th, and no shipping notice yet. Messaged them and got an "it's going out tomorrow" back. Their splash said they were having minor delays, but almost 3 weeks behind is stupid.
  • legogallegogal USMember Posts: 755
BL, BL, have you any more? Yessir, yessir, a trillion bricks more! ( They should not after my many orders this week, but it is okay because it was all Duplo.)

Packing all of my things for the move has really made me take a long hard look at my LEGO collection and hobby. When I moved into this place I fit everything into one moving van. Now its going to take two trips . One just for my LEGO hoard. I have only started collecting a little over a year ago. Like most things in my life I dove in head first with my "all or nothing" attitude.Looking at my collection its very very excessive. Takes up lots of space and I'm scared to begin to add up how much I have spent on it. I wanted to move to a bigger place but I ended up getting a bigger then planned place just so I could have a room for my LEGO addiction.

On that note I'm putting myself into LEGO rehab. I'm backing away from buying. I will commit to building the MOC's that I have told myself was the reason why I needed so many sets. I just want to make sure I dont ruin my love of the brick. Its like when you are full on cake but there is just that one small piece left so you eat it aswell. Afterwards you regret it and eating cake is never the same.

I have the Monster fighters Haunted House, sitting in the lounge room. It feels like it is watching me where ever I go (open plan kitchen, dinning and lounge). I took out the bags to see if all were there, they were, and all were put back. But it's watching me again...

I promised myself I wouldn't start on it until we got this house up for sale and bought the new house and moved in, as I don't want to loose any of the pieces in the move...but it's still there, taunting me.

I have nothing else to build, I keep buying Minifig in the hope it will pass, but it hasn't...

    Argh!!!! :(

Thanks @legonickb‌ I can't wait to sit down and just unwind as I build this. I have a load of other Monster Fighters sets on layby and when I get them off I will do them too...or I might wait with them too...lol.

The Easter Rabbit Set was finally available the German Lego Shop and I bought it right away. (I still regret that I was too late with the last Easter set). Of course I had to add a couple of other sets to qualify for free shipping and the free Rapunzel Marketplace set. Got the Friend jewellery box, the Movie Ice Cream truck and the Pinguin Key Chain.

Next Shop order will be in April with double points. :)

Watched the Lego Movie again today (not the same going to the cinema without a loved one) and having been inspired by it went home and built the car transporter #60060 after it's been layed up in it's box for some time.

Have anyone else's [email protected] orders (for Martian Manhunter) shipped yet? I made my order within the first few minutes of the offer being live, but it's not been shipped yet. Probably Monday.

@wil348 I don't think I've had a single [email protected] order ship on the same day in France. I've not got a confirmation on my order from yesterday either. I wouldn't worry yet.

On that note, thanks @lego91 for mentioning the Rapunzel set offer, I'd missed that somehow and my daughter will love it, and the Martian Manhunter for that matter, she's got a diverse set of interests :)

Sorting, sorting, sorting....why can't my kids just say "Hey Dad, do you have any Lego you want us to sort for you?". Sigh, but alas, those are not the words I hear so it's back to sorting.

Am I an 8 year old kid again?

I will be making the next Lego Creator set for 2015, its for my final project in Art at college. It's not the only set I will be buying for parts, it's just the beginning :)

Being unwell and pretty much housebound for weeks now, I finally went to see The Lego Movie yesterday, in Harrow, on a matinee (2 for 1 tickets on Orange Wednesday), thanks to the lovely Mrs Q who booked the tickets and drove me there. Only about 10 people in the cinema, and only one child that I could see. Despite her relative AHOL status, Mrs Q sat through the whole thing without a single detrimental comment, and admitted afterwards that she enjoyed it ("but [she] wouldn't need to see it again"). Me? I really loved it - including the in-jokes and the "editorial" comment on AFOLs - and will certainly be getting it on DVD when it comes out.

I know she won't be reading this, but I'd like to thank my beautiful wife for enabling me to have the first really good afternoon I've had in over a month. I love you, Mrs Q. :-)
