Help with Hanover, Maryland 2009 Grand Opening Blue Crab Instructions Lego Store

Does anyone have instructions for the Hanover, Maryland 2009 Grand Opening Blue Crab? I found a very good picture but can't quite figure out how the layers of the body work. A copy of the original instructions, scan or link would be greatly appreciated. I have done a fairly exhaustive search and other than this picture and a scan of the front page of the instructions only. Thanks,

    If you search on Bricklink (Hanover-1) for this set, there is another image on there as well as a piece inventory. Bit better, but not gonna help you a great deal if you want total 100% accuracy.

    You could ask the seller of the only one listed on there how it is constructed but how accommodating they would be I don't know?

    Did you try calling customer service to see if they would email it to you?

    Thanks, I have emailed customer service, the only current ebay seller and the ebay seller who sold item in December. I am hoping one of these works out. My main problem is there are four blue 2x2 corners and I am not sure where they go. I do have the piece inventory. Thanks again!

    Are you going to sell bricklinked versions? :-)
    Maybe you could call that Lego store to check too.

    Not if I can't figure out how they go together:-) I really need to be able to email out the instructions.

    Otherwise it will be here is a a bag of blue and black bricks(for charity), enjoy!!! I am thinking of calling the Hanover, MD store and asking if anyone has been around since 2009 or if they have a store copy. I will give it a few more days and then give up. I really like this model/color scheme and would like to do it accurately.

    I have instructions for some of these store sets. I'll check when I get home tonight and see if I have this one.

    If you want the instructions to sell sets of them then other sellers with the real thing may not be too pleased, even if they are for charity. Are you letting the sellers know you plan on selling the sets? It seems a bit cheeky to ask, then presumably undercut them.

    That implies he was putting the sets together to hand out. Could be either but just saying.

    Russell844, thanks for checking.

    I would like to sell these sets for charity and see what CCC is saying. I offered to buy a copy but I doubt they will take me up on it. If they agree I will explain further to avoid any hard feelings. My hope is that this will generate more interest in the grand opening sets which may be good for everyone. Current seller has been trying to sell since 2011 at least.

    I was surprised that some of these more basic designs were not readily available. I hope that Lego customer service comes through. I don't mind creating my own instructions if necessary but want to be accurate.

    I don't care one way or the other, but I bet sellers of the set that might be providing the instructions will.

    Back to the problem in hand, two of them might be the third layer down, if they fit around a 2x4 plate at the front.

    In fact, I think all four of them are in that layer. Where the black bracket goes at the front, two of them should corner off the plate part of that, making it appear like a 2x4 plate. So 2x corner plates touching on an end, with the black plate part of the bracket in the 2x1 gap they form.

    Try looking for the instructions for the Walmart 2009 build. They did a red crab that is built the same way as the blue crab. I gave these as a gift to my son's class in 2010.

    It's not great quality, but enough to recreate it from. Completely different to how I imagined ... the four corners are in step 1.

    Good luck with the sales. And at least now you don't have to go behind any sellers' backs either.

    Interesting that the BL inventory and the photo above have the "feelers" as blue base levers (and so does the actual set photo), yet the main image of the set on BL has them as white bases, same as the photo on brickset.

    Yes, I thought the blue made more sense with the color scheme. Thoughts?

    I prefer the blue, but also I think a blue bracket at the front would be better too, rather than black.

    I'm having a look now what colours I can build one in. It's a shame that lever base is not available in so many colours. Maybe a LBG base would look good too, when the body colour doesn't exist.

    The lever in orange doesn't exist, which might be why the orange crab has a white lever base and the image was taken from the existing set before the colour was changed.

    The only problem with Copenhagen is that it has decorated parts. Duh! Decorated parts for a grand opening set is like trying to find an electron on needle in a haystack, x3.

    You'll have to sticker'em up.

    If you put the parts to the model in Lego Digital Designer and then use LDDManager it will give you all the colors that all the parts of a current color in the model are available in. Easy way to swap colors of things in models like this.

    The Berlin Bear is quite straight forward. Get the parts out, an image and it should come together nicely. DS made a "Pooh" bear as he didn't like the original (German flag) colors.

    I agree with you but I feel like I need something on the bear to send. Maybe I can take pictures of each step as instructions. I am still hopeful that the originals will surface.

    It is sooooo cool that you are doing these grand opening sets! I debated paying 75us for the Hanover blue crab freebie but decided against it because the seller or someone received it for free.

    But did manage to get about 6 of the red crab build models in baggies from Halifax, NS in Canada I think. I do have directions with them if I can locate my polybag container. Do you have the red crab instructions?

    I so wanted the Copenhagen grand opening set and made a couple of offers on BL but decided it was not worth 100us for so few parts. The printed parts are so rare that there is no hope of finding them elsewhere, so it will have to be stickers if anyone tries to reproduce it. The other city sets are just amazing, especially Munich, Frankfurt, Weisbaden, and Miami Aventura. Really wish I could afford them, but they are just too expensive for so few parts. I would rather buy another Parisian Restaurant for 160us and get a lot of very cool parts to expand my already built PR.

    Keep up the great work! Did your 2011 Ducks sell out?

    That's way better quality than the other scan, thanks. Although I notice you went for white lever bases rather than blue.

    Thanks very much for the interest! I am waiting patiently for one final order, it should be in my mail box today(fingers crossed). I did get the white and blue "feelers" for each set. They should be priced at $12 shipped in the US. International would add the difference on to the total. I will finalize everything shortly. 100% of profits will go to the Fairy Bricks charity.     I like Chessie as well but don't think I have come across the instructions, just the parts list...
    I would certainly be willing to build but am reluctant to sell them without instructions.
