Ewok village is on sale at amazon 14% off. Isn't this on the exclusion list?

Do you all see this as Amazon testing Lego on their exclusive policy?
  • PoochyPoochy Member Posts: 479
    ^ I hope so :).

Me too! I'd like to pick up a couple of horizon express as it is next on my purchase list followed by the town hall.

Just order one and notice in the Qty drop down that I could order a max of 20: I am guessing they have the blessings of the TLG.

I hate that NJ orders now have to pay taxes with Amazon, would have made this deal so much sweeter if I didn't.

only 12 left now, thanks @graphite. The discount on exclusives came to about 13-14% at S@H on black friday, so maybe that is an agreed upon, acceptable discount on exclusives for limited sales. I would be happy with 14%.

    Thanks @graphite.
Picked one up. Should be interesting to see if Amazon has any of these for a while after this.

I bought one. I wonder if you can backorder it if it sells out.

It let me add 20 to my card and let me get all the way to checkout. I am in for one however :)

I also hope Amazon starts flexing a little bit with Walmart and Target to follow. I want to see who blinks first.

any chance there's a May the 4th deal on this set?
  • JeffHJeffH Member Posts: 173
It is back ordered now on 2/1 but the price seems stick.
  • hewmanhewman Member Posts: 93
@graphite, many thanks. Shipping to Australia was really cheap too.
  • TheLoneTensorTheLoneTensor Member Posts: 3,937
Almost pulled the trigger, but decided against. If they can do 14% today, they can likely do > 14% later. Here's hoping this is the first sign of an overall reversal.

Grr...added it to my cart and the price changed to 249.95 :(
  • jediami65jediami65 Member Posts: 474
My friend ordered one, she had it in cart when I told her the prices changed, but her order still went for $214 price.

I wonder what Lego would say about this? Is amazon breaking the agreement or is this acceptable? Perhaps I'll send CS an email

Because some people are tattletales, that's why...

LEGO customer service likely wouldn't have any idea of it anyway, it is above their pay grade. They simply have no need to be involved in such things.

I'm assuming the email comment was the poster just being funny to begin with. However, sarcasm and humor are very hard to convey online without knowing someone personally.
  • mathewmathew Member Posts: 2,099
I'm thinking that it was a pricing mistake. Note, none of the other exclusives have been discounted since the exclusions started. I'm not talking the .03% discounts ; )

    @Bumblepants LOL!

@pharmjod, true but that is why there are emoticons. I know it is also hard to decide what emoticon represents sarcasm accurately but usually a :p or a wink does the trick (at least for me, well now you have me wondering if actually people understand when I am joking or not, but I think so, hopefully!).

AH Communication is such an important thing and sometimes a really hard thing, it is on days like this one, that I wish I had developed that aspect of my life a bit more. Oh well I guess I am still relatively young and there is always time to improve (sorry for going on tangents, ignore if it does not make sense).
  • tamamahmtamamahm Member Posts: 1,987
Ah. A joke would make sense. :-)

Yes, usually with a bit of a joke or sarcasm a simple ;-) or :-P or even :-) goes a long way in conveying meaning. Written is so easy to interpret multiple ways.

I don't think a message to cs would even be required. If I was Lego and looking for companies not following the rules. I would just read the forums. No better way to find all the information in one place.

If TLG doesn't have a dedicated employee who does nothing but scour the Internet, including multiple fan forums, then they need a smack upside the head.

^I'm sure they do in some form or another. The question is, do they know what to do with the info they collect. Sending the right info to the right departments etc.

^^That sounds like a great job for me. It's pretty much what I do anyway, and that way I wouldn't have real work to do when I'm done wasting hours of my time on the internet every day! :)

For what it is worth, I received my Ewok Village today and Amazon shipped it in a plastic bag. No outer box. Fortunately there was no real damage done to the set, but it is the second time Amazon as done it. This is with Amazon Prime.

Same here. Came in a bag, and the box is beat up :-( Surprising for this to occur with an expensive item.
But at least it was not ripped open.

its surprising. i don't order much from amazon but they always seem to send stuff with extra packing to me
  • pharmjodpharmjod Member Posts: 2,916
If it would have come beat up I'd be sending it back to Amazon for replacement. It makes me understand why I often have people ask me when they win an auction to ship the item in a box. To me anything less than shipping in a protective box for something like a LEGO set or any toy that also comes in a box is unacceptable. I just hope this doesn't become a trend with Amazon. I would probably be less annoyed with it if my wife and I weren't Prime members.

I have two waiting for me at my apartment office and even though I'm parting them out I'm going to complain if they came in bags.
  • jediami65jediami65 Member Posts: 474
I received mine yesterday in a box that could have held two sets, and plenty of brown paper filling, outer box was not in great shape but the set box itself was in NM condition just minor wear.
  • rocaorocao Administrator Posts: 4,290
Mine came in the same plastic shipping bag as mentioned. Not a good sign when you see what looks like tire tracks on the bag and a tear.

I opened the bag to find that it indeed looks like it was run over, as the seals on one end gave way after being crushed. It looks like all the bags are in there, but this is definitely going back for a replacement.
  • prevereprevere Member Posts: 2,923
^Plastic bag as well for me. I'm parting it out so I would rather just keep. How can I find out if all the bags are there? One end was opened.
  • BumblepantsBumblepants Member Posts: 7,728
Even if you are keeping it is probably worth complaining. Enough complaints might help end the practice and you might get a percentage off as well.

I had this happen to me a couple times back in October and November. They were smaller sets and were not damaged so I just left negative packaging feedback.

I ordered a #75021 and it came with no box at all. The shipping label was stuck on the front. I left an irate message on why I was returning it and have had no issues since. I had my replacement set the next day. It was packaged extremely well.

The last #10197 that I purchased from Amazon a month or 2 ago came in a bag. It was mostly intact, miraculously. My #10236 was in a box, thankfully.
  • Pitfall69Pitfall69 Member Posts: 11,454
This is probably why they were discounted.
